The SR1 utilizes a pneumatically balanced second stage, with a two-piece flow-through first stage piston for precise optimum balanceand intermediate pressure control. The first stage is environmentally sealed featuring a dry-sealed spring chamber, two high pressure ports, five low pressure ports on a 360 degree swivel and is compatible with a yoke or DIN attachment. The second stage contains a SMART demand lever and floating crown which reacts to depressurization and relieves the load on the seat, extending seat life while promoting consistent performance.
Importantly, the second stage employs a unique single adjustment point to simultaneously set opening effort and high flow performance with one motion--the need to make separate adjustments has therefore been eliminated. The size of the SR1 control knob has also been optimized to enable easy location and operation, even for a diver wearing gloves.
The SR1 packs its advanced technology into a compact case which employs contemporary styling and utilizes a multitude of cutting edge materials.

Dove this regulator a few times now. I really like the hose positioning and this reg. keeps your mouth moist during the dive. No dry mouth. Breathes effortlessly at depth as well. I did switch out the stock mouthpiece to a comfo bite

Used it on deep wrecks off nc. very easy breather and a pleasure to use. I liked my maximus but this is much better. get another mouthpiece as it will wear out your jaw. wisdom mouthpiece from sherwood works well for me.

Hands down this is the easiest breathing regulator I have ever dove. Very dry and very easy. The adjustments are simple and straightforward as well as very effective. I highly recommend this regulator. The ports are well located on the first stage as well and it comes environmentally sealed. This is by far my favorite regulator.

Breathes great, but poor mouthpiece and with the regulator hose straight out, turn your head to the right and the reg is pushed out of the right side of your mouth, I like the 90 degree- under the arm set up on my MAXIUS better

I'm a die hard Sherwood Regulator diver for over 20 years. I bought the SR1 to further improve air consumption due to effortless breathing. Orienting the first stage LP outlets up or down led to down due to distance of the power inflator hose to my air trim outlet on Mares BC vest. However, the second stage was ripped from my mouth when I turned to see a dolphin blowing by me on my port side. Short hoses? or is it better to orient the second stage hose under my right arm? We'll see on the next dive . . .

This is one great regulator, definitely top of the line; excellent breather and light second stage. The only problems I had were that the mouthpiece is too small and the tension in the hose pulls the Reg out of my mouth whenever I turn my head to the right. However I solved this by changing the mouthpiece to a Comfobite one and plugging the second stage to the back-right port on the first stage to reduce bending of the hose.

I read several negative reviews from few web sites.
But I believed it was just early production error or something else (Bad Luck?).
I have been using Sherwood regulator for more than 10 years.
And I've had no problem at all.
Well, it was not easiest breathing regulator at all. But at least it works at any condition.
Then this SR1. Basically I bought this, cause my old Sherwood has no second HP port.
Normally I don't spend such a big money for dive gear, but it was just before Christmas and huge discount.
I haven't dive many with this regulator yet.
But my first impression was just light everything.
And breath easy, so easy,
This is the best regulator I have used.
I tried only few dive with this regulator at the moment, I hope this regulator has great durability and reliability as most Sherwood products.

I've used my SR 1 from quarry dives just above freezing temperatures to vacation drift diving in Cozumel. As a member of the police dive team I have had it in water most persons wouldn't even stick their foot in much less dive. It has been in mud, muck and slime of all kinds and still delivers great breathing. (Only wish they would put a swival on the end of the hose for the second stage to move with me.)

I've got about 50 dives on this reg since I purchased it the end of May and couldn't be happier. The SR1 is one rugged regulator that is easy to breath. At 100 plus feet it's effortless to breathe from - it seems as though you are at 10 feet. There's no fatigue due to a heavy second stage either. I put a Comfo-bite mouthpiece on and I can't even feel the reg in my mouth.

Superb reg at a discount price. I normally don't go for high performance regs, but you just cannot say no for that price [...]. I was a little nervous, as the SR1 had some bad press to do with teething issues on some earlier models relating to the environmental seal, but so far so good. No issues; just the most effortless breathing I can ever recall. Also extremely small and lightweight which will be handy for travel.

Have 5 dives with this regulator and I am in love. It never once tries to pull from your mouth. It's extremely light and breathes wonderfully. The ONLY thing wrong with it is the mouthpiece that it comes with. Once I replaced it with a cheapy $6 mouthpiece, I was completely happy. No jaw fatigue what-so-ever. Cheaper on this site that any other.
