The Blizzard is the first regulator created specifically for cold water diving, Plated and heat sink retain the warmth of your exhaled breath to help prevent freeze-up or 2nd stage free-flow. Sealed first stage prevents water from entering practically eliminating the possibility of a freeze up. Regulator operates smoothly regardless of the temperature.

FIRST STAGE

I have used this reg in conditions ranging from 37 deg water in a Pennsylvania winter to 83 deg water in Grand Cayman. I saw no difference at all. I know i will buy another when the time comes.

Dove with it right out of the bag [...] from LeisurePro who assembled and tested it before shipping. Rock solid reg as I did 14 dives with it in warm water with no issues whatsoever. Very versatile for cold water as advertised and performed quite well. Bit of a heavy breather but solid and confident with it.

Sherwood piston regulators are the most reliable on the market. Overall design and construction is solid. Hoses and rubber parts are heavy duty. The dry air bleed system almost completely guarantees no 1st stage freeze ups and simplifies maintenance. I'm not sure but I think the heat retaining fins in the 2nd stage reduce cotton mouth. Sherwood (long) mouthpieces are the best on the market.

My wife and I have used Sherwood regulators for 10 years and I think they are great. On the other hand I have tried other regs several times and they certainly provided better breathing characteristics.

Excellent product. I'm originally from Nova Scotia, the waters up in this area are generally cold for most peoples standards and have dove in waters below 32F or 0C. I have never encountered a free flow or freeze up from this product.

I bought this reg because I live in Chicago and do cold Lake Michigan and quarry dives. Brett Holmes at LP recommended this reg so I bought it with the Sherwood duel octo. I used this reg today at Shadow Lakes (3 tank dives) and it was great. Breathing was effortless in all positions. Water temp was approx. 46 degress F. I normally get dry mouth and jaw fatigue, NOT WITH THIS REG! Mouth piece was comfortable and no dry mouth! This is my first Sherwood purchase and I can tell you I am impressed so far. If Sherwood's reputation is true about lasting forever, then I made a great purchase for years to come. Thank you Sherwood for making a great reg!

I dive in the Great Lakes and tropical. This regulator does it all. From five feet to 200 ft. I have over 600 dives on mine and have never had a problem with breathing easily or any type of failure. I won't dive with any other regulator.

I have used a blizzard for three years scallop diving in the winter on the Maine coast. Surface temps -10 to 50 and water temps 28- 50 I've never free flowed due to freezing.

As a package I decided to go with all Sherwood. As I dive in colder regions, the Blizzard fits well with the profile. At this stage I feel very satisfied with the product. Good fresh air is what it delivers well at all of trhe depth I dive to (100' max).

Have not used it for cold water yet. I have had it in warm water down to 100' and it breathed effortlessly. It looks almost indestructable. Bubbles stay out of your vision.
