The MK17's balanced diaphragm offers you peace ofmind with it smooth breathing mechanisms and maximum performance that doesn't diminish as your air supply does. SCUBAPRO outfitted the MK17 with a dry ambientchamber, which means no water will sneak into the 1st stage and wreak havoc while you're at depth. The Thermal Insulating System (TIS) & anti-freeze system prot ect the internal mechanisms from freezing, even in icy diving environments.
G250 V Second Stage
The G250 V second stage is not to be out-done by the MK17's features. The G250V offers Scubapro's air-balanced valve technology. This feature uses spring tension to provide smooth breathing, regardless of where you're diving
The Scubapro developed VIVA (Venturi-Initiated Vacuum Assist) to assist with easing each breath the diver takes. As the air is pulled into the second stage casing, a vacuum is created behind the diaphragm. In turn, the diaphragm depresses the lever that maintains the poppet open for a "power assist" breath. In addition to the VIVA, the air-balanced power inflator valve means you'll have a steady stream of air, regardless of the pressure in your tank. Because each diver and each dive is slightly different, Scubapro's G250 V second stage also allows you to manually adjust the inhalation effort. Nice regs, I bought two but one needed adjustment out of the box. Not a big deal but ScubaPro shouldnt make these kind of mistakes for the price. Otherwise been diving all winter with them and no freeze-up. Nice high flow reg!

I bought this set-up for diving in NJ. I love it. I tested out 4 other types of regs before i bought this and liked this the best. Easy to breath, Excellent for cold water both the reg and the sealed MK17 1st stage are great. Even worked perfect in warm waters great all around reg.

I have been happy with my MK17/G250HP and G250s for a long time, but just couldn't pass up the new MK17/G250V reg set.
I found this reg to be even a better breather than my older G250's. What I really like about this reg is that it has a metal air tube rather than the plastic one on the other G250's. A metal air tube is much better at heat transfer than a plastic tube, less chance of a free flow due to a freeze up
This is now my cold water reg set up of choice.
Great reg. at an un-beatable price.

The Scubapro G250V is ideal for long decompressions. Extremely reliable and easy breathing whether you’re at 6 Atmospheres (165 feet) or at 1 Atmosphere (Sea Level).
