Brand: Poseidon
Located in: Essential Equipment, Regulators
The Xstream Dive regulator was built for extreme (but not that extreme) diving.

When compared with tech regulators, one of the most immediately noticeable differences is the number of ports. There are five low-pressure and two high-pressure ports, which should be enough for most divers. Another difference is the color of the second stage cover is subtle graphite grey and the octopus is Poseidon yellow. The cover over the T.D.A. system on the first stage is chromed instead of black. The regulator is delivered with a 70 cm low-pressure hose.

Our skilled technicians have fine-tuned the airflow and managed to get the inhalation resistance down to close to zero.

Xstream Dive 90 is made for diving with air and when there is a need for many low-pressure or high-pressure ports. In order to avoid confusion with other gas mixtures, the second stage's color is grey. The first stage has the wheel mounted on the side, which is the most common configuration when diving with the tank on your back.

Comments about Poseidon Poseidon Xstream Deep/Dive Regulator, "Din":

Gives you air, as much as you need at any depth, the deeper the better. both 1st stage and 2nd are state of art. The second stage is very sensitive, and if the diaphragm hits the water on surface, you can see what does a lot of air mean. I'm addicted to it, can't dive anything else when i go deep on OC.

Comments about Poseidon Poseidon Xstream Deep/Dive Regulator, "Din":

I bought it for its light weight 2nd stage, side exhaust, trust worthy brand. This reg works great if its operating, but my reg had lots of "small problems" here and there, free flowing, wet breathing, etc... very hard to find quality servicing location, long duration for parts shipment and expensive repairs. The mouth peice it comes with is really a pain to use , I see most of the reviewers quoted for the jaw fatigue, I replaced my mouthpeice after fighting it for 6 month. The reg is currently in service again after a free flowing problem - the whole reg was serviced less than 9 month ago... as I say treat it as an expensive sport car.

I like mine just fine. It free flowed a bit at first. I turned the adjustment knob a little...problem solved. Nothing breathes easier. It is a bit pricey...but you shouldn't go "low budget" with a regulator anyway.

Comments about Poseidon Poseidon Xstream Deep/Dive Regulator, "Din":

Havent tried all the rest but had socalled "no freeze" regulators before which all ended up freezing when I just didnt need it.
So far this one (have three, two on twinset and one for decobottle) have done perfectly where other models froze open and freeflowed but these down to 68m and 1 degree centigrade (icediving) always does perfect job, thanks for that :)
btw, they are supposed to freeflow on surface when going under, are easy flowing up there for easy breathing down under ;)

Comments about Poseidon Poseidon Xstream Deep/Dive Regulator, "Din":

I'm owning a bunch of regulators : Aqualung Legend LX Supreme, Scubapro, Apeks, ... and I bought 3 Poseidon X-Stream (2x Duration, 1x Deco) 2 years ago and I bought the 4th last week.

I'm using them for all my dives : recreationnal dives, trimix dives, cave dives, under the ice dives, deep dives (over 60m with air or Trimix), solo dives, for Nitrox or O2 deco, ...

Those regulators are very smooth, comfortables and reliables. No useless knobs, they are really simple. In case of strong currents or underwater scooter use they will never free flows due to the side mount of the second stage. You can use them in all directions without water comming inside (try another reg upside down). If you need to flush the water outside it's very easy (thanks to the very small dead space)

The things I don't like are : the big big big mouthpiece (changed them with Aqualung Comfobite), the fact that you should always keep the regulator under pressure while in the water (it means when you rince them or dive with them mounted on a deco thank), otherwise the water may come inside the 2nd stage.

Comments about Poseidon Poseidon Xstream Deep/Dive Regulator, "Din":

When you first connect this reg to your tank it free flows when you turn on the air then it stops I do not like its design.mouth piece and second stage were designed to cause jaw fatigue,it free flows wildly in open water, lost almost a half a tank of air because of free flows, I am glad I returned it and bought a aqualung legend instead..it is by far a much better regulator.this poseiden was a real disapointment,it really does blow..

Comments about Poseidon Poseidon Xstream Deep/Dive Regulator, "Din":

It's built like a tank, but operates like a sports car. I do a mix of technical and recreational diving and had been looking for a low profile side exhaust regulator to fit that niche for quite some time and this regulator does it. The price is higher than most especially considering a 2nd is required for technical dives, but the design is well worth it.
