Simple, it works, good price. I don't need frills to fail later. It does seem to burp a large bubble of air when I remove it from my mouth, however, which seems a tad wasteful to someone who conserves air as much as I do (most of my work I do free diving).

This regulator is a great buy 4 the money. Used it 4 the first time and it did free flow on me twice during the dive, but was it was controllable. Not as small as the Mares Proton, but a very affordable substitute.

I have one just like this and liked it so much, bought this one for my grandaughter who will be taking her diving class in a few days. Easy breathing, important for a brand new diver I think, not bulky, easy to manage.

Good if you are just learning and can't afford anything else. Hard breathing, get jaw fatigue quickly, heavy, Love Mares product but you get what you pay for on this one. Would be good for shallow, quick dives.

For the money, I could've spent some more and got a real regulator.

The octo was a similar piece of work.

Being somewhat of a beginner I thought, "Hey I need a regulator, and look this one seems fairly affordable."

How stupid of me. This is equipment that needs to support your life. Why risk your life on cheap stuff?

I've learned a valuable lesson.

Now I'll buy real stuff.

I just returned from my trip from the outer islands of the Bahamas. I used it up to 30 m and I had only good experiences. The breathing was particularly easy. For my kind of recreational diving it was certainly the right choice.

For the money, it can't be beat. Does cause a little bit of jaw fatigue (I was under water for about an hour and a half, so that may have contributed). It works like a regulator should, and it came with a factory warranty, so no complaints here.
