The Lightest and Most Compact Metal Regulator

The high performance MR42T first stage, is combined with an all metal second stage, for minimum weight and size.

The CWD Dry kit, for the MR42T first stage, works dry, using air only and absolutely no oil. The external pressure is conveyed to the main diaphragm by a metal piston. Air, as one of the best insulators, offers excellent thermal protection to the internal components of the first stage. The absence of oil makes maintenance simpler and faster.

Compare the performance graphs and specs from Mares website with other best selling top-of-the-line regulators and you'll see this is the best performance for the price. Truely effortless breathing at all depths. This is also one of the lightest metal regulator on the market. Love the plastic channels at the bottom of the reg that guides your exhale back around your head. Helps keep the bubbles out of your view.

Comments about Mares Mares Proton 42 Metal Regulator:

Took this reg out of the box to 130'. It was perfect. I like the fact it is balanced. I don't have to mess with a knob to get it to breath properly at depth. I was not sure if I would like the weight of the reg(it is all metal). After entering the water I never felt it. If I was asked what I didn't like, I would have to say the mouth piece. Only because I got spoiled with the Trident Hi flow on every other reg I own.

I just got back from the Keys. I dove every thing from 25' reefs to 114' on the Grove. This Reg never missed a beat. I have been diving for over 15 years, and this is the best reg I have ever used.

Comments about Mares Mares Proton 42 Metal Regulator:

I had excellent ease of breathing at 90 to 100 ft. Very sturdy, compact and light. Be sure to buy accessories to securely attach octopus and gauges to BCD. A retractable works best with gauges. During dive last week in Cozumel I noticed other diver's gauges dragging on coral or they tucked them in their BCD, thus complicating easy access in emergency.

Comments about Mares Mares Proton 42 Metal Regulator:

This regulater breaths so good that you'll almost forget your underwater. Effortless breathing at any depth. I took it down to 100 ft. and it worked as if I was in 10 ft. of water. Its light weight, and a simple desine. You definately get your money's worth. I highly recommend this regulater.

Comments about Mares Mares Proton 42 Metal Regulator:

I'm all about form, function, and reliability. My equipment must do it's job w/out becoming an additional job. This reg. performed great and did it's job as described. I can't wait to get back in the water as soon as possible. It has been the most comfortable, and breathed great. It perfectly matched depth to breathabilty and was so comfortable it's the first time I've dove and not gotten jaw fatigue, dry mouth also not an issue. Also love it's compact size and small first stage. I would buy this again!
