My wife experiences jaw fatigue easly, but not with this regulator. It does sqeal a bit in shallower (<30ft) water, but no biggie.

Comments about Mares Mares Proton 12 Regulator:

I am happy with it, but plan to change the mouthpiece. When I turn my head, it trys to come out of my mouth. My neck was sore after 2 45 minute dives. I hope to change out the mouthpiece with one of the custom fit pieces that you heat up and bite. It came with the Mares 2 package that I bought, and I really wanted to trade it out for the scubapro R295, but it cost too much to do so so I stuck with the Mares.

Just a great regulator for a beginner or any diver. Used it the first time on my last trip to Cozumel. My wife has one also and usually complains of jaw pain. She had no problems with this regulator.

Comments about Mares Mares Proton 12 Regulator:

reg is great, easy to breath. been to 90 ft with no problems. hose is constantly pushing reg out of your mouth though. cant buy different mouthpiece for it unless you go through mares.other than a little jaw fatigue, its a great product.just don't turn to the right too fast, you'll be looking for your reg if you do.
