Ellipse Alaska/MC7-AF

This model has been designed mainly for use in cold water.

The MC7 diaphragm first stage comes with the standard issue antifreeze kit and the second stage is identical to the one used in the Ellipse Titanium.

The first stage of the Ellipse Alaska is the already famous and excellent Cressi MC7 model balanced diaphragm. It comes with the antifreeze kit, which provides an additional waterproof chamber, to screw onto the end of the first stage. This chamber ends with a silicon diaphragm on the outside that seals off the inside from contact with water, while still transmitting any pressure variation to the inner organs, thanks to the flexibility of the material.

The antifreeze kit is composed of two main parts, both made from strong chrome-plated brass. There is a mushroom element inside, made from acetylic resin, which connects the external diaphragm to the internal one.

The use of the antifreeze kit completely eliminates any water seepage into the external part of the first stage, so not only does itprevent the formation of ice in this area, but it also prevents the formation of deposits and incrustations on the diaphragm and on the spring.

This provides considerable advantages for divers working in mineral-rich water or with lots of suspension (archaeological sites, port works, caving etc.)

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Ellipse Alaska Titanium/MC7 Regulator:

I got this Reg for my wife. She likes the ease of breathing, and the weight. The only draw back is the mouth piece is a little hard and the hose places slight pressure on the reg. We'll be replacing the mouth piece with the Aqualung Comfo Bite and installing a 360 degree swivel before heading to Mexico for some warm water diving.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Ellipse Alaska Titanium/MC7 Regulator:

I own and operate a reef system design and maintenance company, and was in dire need of a 2nd stage that was lightweight enough to literally be able to use for hours at a time while working in a clients' 1000g aquarium at a depth of roughly 5 feet. After an extensive amount of research, I found the Cressi Titanium Alaska setup to be the best possible solution for my needs, since it was a fraction of the weight of what I had been using. The icing on the cake (and the reason for the Alaska model) was the ability to use this in a heavily silted mineral rich environment. In order to build up the ultimate tank system, I mated the 2nd stage to a 360 degree swivel and have it connected to a 25' LP hose... My tank sits on a shelf just outside of the 1000 gallon aquarium which I needed this for. This setup is an absolute must for anyone that does what I do for a living!-[@]

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Ellipse Alaska Titanium/MC7 Regulator:

The minus setting is suppose to stop free flow at surface, it does not. I do not notice any difference in breathing from the minus or plus settings. This unit does breath well though especially for the price.
