The Legend Glacia is the newest member of the Legend family of regulators. It has been designed for use under the most extreme conditions. The Legend Glacia offers a greater resistance to freezing than any regulator Aqua Lung has ever produced. In addition, it boasts a breathing performance that is equivalent to that of a Legend Supreme.

The Legend Glacia is fitted with three heat exchangers:

The first completely surrounds the first stage environmental dry chamber
The second is fitted to the medium pressure hose itself
The third is in the traditional position adjacent to the second stage casing

Traditional second stage elastomer front covers harden in very cold water. The Legend Glacia is fitted with an aluminum cover machined from solid metal. The metal cover, apart from assisting the heat exchangers, accommodates a purge button with flow control.Auto-Closure Device (ACD) (pat. pending) seals the regulator's inlet fitting, both yoke and DIN, as soon as regulator is removed from the cylinder valve. Comes with a lip shield to keep lips warm

I bought this product specifically for my ice diving class. It performed flawlessly, even after being purged and breathed from on the surface (26F temp.). Despite the metal heat exchangers mid-hose the regulator felt very comfortable and did not cause any jaw fatigue. Believe it or not, the lip-skirt around the mouth piece does make a difference in cold water. Although the regulator is designed for cold water, it obviously can be used in any temp. water.

Very good regulator. Till now I haven't been able to use it in extremely cold water to check how it works in enviroment waht was designed for, but in water temperature between 7 Celsius degree and 32 C works perfect. The regulator was with me deepest on 40 meters. Easy for breathing and good quality. On my octo I'm using second stage Titan LX Supreme which is slightly better for breathing but more susceptible for free flow when venturi valve is fully open. I've never noticed free flow on the Glacia second stage.
