Simple, yet reliable Flow-By Piston Design makes this regulator a great choice for new divers, rental programs and especially as a stage bottle regulator. In-line Piston design is the most recommended type for use with oxygen amongst technical divers. The large diameter piston assures a good gas volume delivery regardless of cylinder pressure. Second-Stage has a user-adjustable Venturi Adjustment Switch (VAS), this allows the regulator to be set for extreme ease of breathing, yet eliminating free flow on the surface and increasing air flow at depth.

I still have my Aqualung Calypso regulator from 20 years ago. I have changed the hoses and O-rings, and it still operates as new. I have put my life in the hands of Aqualung products for over 20 years of diving, and have never, NEVER been disappointed. Very good, high-quality regulator, for beginnger to advanced usage. Jaque Cousteau founded this company, and for good reason; they are sturdy, dependable, and failsafe products.

I have dove this regulator down to 115 feet in 65 degree water and it works great. Breathes easy and is adjustable at the 2nd stage. It is light weight and comfortable. I have always liked AquaLung products, and this is a great value at a very affordable price.

Great regulator. I was accustomed to using a Scubapro Mk25/S600 and this regulator is not quite as smooth as that... but this one is also almost [$] cheaper. It's very well made, and it does the job. I'd say the most noticeable difference is the added breathing resistance at depth. If you're new to diving, this one is all you need. If you go every weekend, then you might want to go for something flashier. If I needed a backup reg, I wouldn't even think twice about getting this one.

I'm on the dive rescue team for the fire department that I work for. We use these regulators (enviornmental seal added aftermarket) for our rescue divers. These regs get over 250 dives on them each year and are abused bouncing around in the fire engine and function with out any problems. They are also inexpensive to rebuild as they're everywhere. I liked them so much that the last time I needed regulators for my personal use, I chose to not go with the Dive Rite and did this instead. I use them on my stage bottles and would dive them any time as my main regulators.
