great octo magnet is weak & drops off often,I like the concept so I removed the weak magnets & installed high strength replacements, a fairly simple task.

Sharing air with your buddy can be tricky sometimes, but with swivel models, it doesn't matter where you/your buddy are positioned. Oceanic always had reliable equipment and this octopus/second 2nd stage is perfect for trainning sessions. This is my 3rd swivel. In my 3 sets of regulators, I always chose to have a swivel octopus.

I managed to aquire one of these for free only a few dives old. I have done about a dozen more on top of that and havent had ANY problems with its operation yet. Its very rugged, easy to operate and adjust on the fly through the mouthpiece instead of taking it apart. I have found that due to the location and size of the outlet ports, lots of sand can accumulate in it.
The magnetic keeper however is rubbish, and good for nothing. I think its crucial to point out that the magnet is located in the reg, and I have found it to negatively influence my compass quite strongly from even a couple feet away. So if you use a compass regularly do not get the magnetic keeper model.
I drilled and removed the magnet from mine, a simple operation but DO NOT ATTEMPT if you do not know what you are doing. Now, I have an occy that i'm 100% satisfied with.

I acquire this octopus as an upgrade to my equipment. It works real great, the slim design, 180 swivel and magnetic keeper make it an excellent resource by making it simple when retreiving it and handing it over to your buddy when needed.

Nice octo. No free flow, nice design. Love the swivel. I like the magnet idea but it seems not strong enough to hold on a consistent basis. The octo comes off of the magnet often with regular diving activities. Not a big deal, just use another attachment device.

Pretty good product, I like the small size and being able to clear it "upside down." The magnetic keeper is about useless though, so make sure you have another way to secure it.

This is a great Octo! The magnetic connection is a great idea--very easy to detach and reattach!!
I haven't tried using a compass with this octo, so I don't know how much / if any it would affect underwater navigation...
