The Gemini Inflator replaces the conventional BC power inflator and second stage octopus by combining the functions of both into a single unit. When you're taught how to dive you are given practice in buoyancy control more than any other skill. I've had the unfortunate experience of going through three, yes three of these octos in the span of one year. Each has had free flow issues from get go within the first half a dozen dives with the latest occurring within just 3 pool sessions! Leisure Pro has been very good about helping me with the problems and I'm very happy with my other Sherwood Maximus primary 2nd stage regulator, however here the problem is pure and simple - a poorly designed Sherwood product. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this product. Third time was no charm either!

Free flowing is a major problem. You do lose a hose, but you also stand the chance of losing a dive. Good idea, but needs major improvments on reliability.

I had no problems attaching the Sherwood Gemini to my BC. I have been dedicated to Sherwood Regulators for the past 18 years but this one has let me down. Starting with my first dive the unit continously leaked air. It is not a free flow problem it just leaks air at a continous stream. The leak is not enough to ruin a dive but enough to be an anoyance. I am not sure what the problem is but I suspect it needs adjustment or it could be unit defect.
