The SS1 is the newest and most sophisticated product of its type, taking the concept to new levels of convenience, reliability and performance. It contains a high flow second stage that performs on the same level as many high performance second stages. It will deliver high flow rates to a diver at depth with a minimum of effort. It is, however very stable and not prone to unnecessary free-flow or leakage from water movement while swimming, or during entries or exits. The inflator/deflator is easy to operate with soft surfaced buttons placed where they can be easily operated with one hand.
One of the most unique features of the SS1 is its adaptability to almost any BCD. Atomic has designed a set of adapters (patent pending) to fit virtually every poplar BCD brand available. The adapters also include components for attaching the cable exhaust feature of your existing BCD (if applicable).
The SS1 features a quick disconnect not only on the low-pressure hose, but the BCD hose as well. The adapters that fit the SS1 to the BCD are connected to the SS1 with a threaded collar that can be easily unscrewed to detach it completely from the BCD. Now you can carry or store the SS1 with your primary regulator of gauges (patent pending).

I am quite pleased with this product as I am with all of Atomic's products. This alternate is great for streamlining your gear as it attaches to your BC hose. The only downside I found about this alt reg is that you will be nice and close to your buddy when, or if, sharing since you no longer have that long yellow hose to tote around. All in all, it's great and very reliable.

Let me first say that I dont have the titanium one but the regular one. I think this second reg. is great. It does make load noises when you use it. But I dont care about noise. I am about performance!!! I have used this at depth 125' with ease. People that say it breathes as well as thier primary regulator are not using top of the line primary's. Although it works great and I am not putting it down. It definately does'nt breath like my Aqualung LX ACD. I still give it 5 stars. It never leaks and always performs!

All around good purchase. Easy to use, and very convenient, but extremely noisy to breathe through. I would still recommend it, but would have to include a warning about the noise. I have yet to try this at depths below 100'.

One of the best breathing octo/inflators available. The SS1 is very lightweight and has a low profile. It comes with multiple corrugated-hose adapters to fit any brand of BC. The lp inflator hose has a screw-on adapter that can be taken off and mounted on a different lp hose. I prefer the Miflex hoses. They are much more flexible and are much more comfortable to use with an octo/inflator.

All in all, this is a top-quality octo/inflator that I am very happy with!

Simple yet the best combo inflator out there.Having it be removable is great.It is the only inflator out there that I have found that is adaptable to either a 3/4in. or 1.0in. inflator hose.

The SS1 breaths nearly as well as my T1, which is saying something. Since I fly strictly carry-on, this fits very well with my "lighter is better" packing. Also it has a quick disconnect feature, allowing tooless removal from BC for easy packing. This is much lighter and breaths better than the very good Air2 it replaced.

This is certainly the best of the lot , ive tried them all , interchangeable connector is a great innovation . Only thing i can find that isnt perfect...it breathes a little noisy .

From the ease of operation to the effortless breating, this is an incredible device. I have no alternates to compare it to but, I can say that it breathes better than my primary second stage which is Atomic also(Z2). Very, Very pleased.

This octo is really good if you are looking to streamline your gear (as I always am). It has an eclipse shape that allows it to lie closer to your body totally gets rid of of that yellow hose that is always getting caught on things. I read reviews that said it breathed better than some primaries. I tried it at 60fsw and it breathed OK. It didn't breathe as well as they said, but hey. It also has a great quick disconnect that also has the same thread pattern as a garden hose. That's right, you can hook it up to a hose and wash it out. Great! And now you have great access to clean the inside of your BC.
