This gizmo is a good way to trim your profile down, but it's not something you would want to use day in and day out. It's built by aqua-lung, so it's pretty solid, and it definitely works. Is it comfortable to use? No, not particulatly. But it's tolerable. It's there to get you and/or your buddy to the surface with the least amount of death involved. And for that, you can count on it.

Seems well made but would be a bit awkward in a situation due to stiff hose. It has the facility to grasp the hose about halfway and pull to dump air while you are in the vertical position but this is pretty hard to do without pulling the mouthpiece away from you.

I was very skeptical at the beginning but my Power inflator finally died, so I bought this one. it is very easy to use and for a recreational diver is very comfortable. I love getting rid of all the hoses. This item combines with a horseless computer is a must!

Works great in classes because I can have to spare regs for students without all the clutter of two separate octos. Also great for rec diving because it streamlines your profile, you never have to worry about it coming loose like some octos do from time to time, and you always know where it is.

If you want to steam line your gear plus get rid of a hose this is for you. The pressure inflator is easy to use and the reg breaths very well. The only problem I had was the cover that goes over the inflator button got a hold punched in it by another piece of gear during transporting. It was over one year old and the my dive shop repaired it under warranty. I now slip a gauge cover over it when I transport my gear for protection.

The hose is a little stiff, but it is a backup not the primary second stage requlator. It remains close to the body, which reduces chance of damage to the unit or to coral reefs.
