(based on 5 ratings)
Brand: Aqua
Located in: Essential Equipment, Octopuses
The BCD-Air Buddy will mount on any standard size quick connect hose on your buoyancy compensator.
It is out of your way until you need it.

The BCD-Air Buddy swivels in any direction, so it is just as easy for you as your dive buddy to use.
It functions equally well upside down as right side up.
To get your supply of breathing air, just bite it gently with your teeth and feel the air flood your mouth.

The Air Buddy may be disconnected from the power inflator during use and kept in the mouth to breathe while the power inflator is held over the head to bleed air.

I recommend that you and your dive buddies become familiar using this product because it works in a totally different manner than other "octopi".

It takes a few breaths to get used to the simple "mechanism".

Comments about Aqua "Air Buddy" Alternate Air Source, fits on BCD Inflator:

This unit appears very well made, heavy chrome workmanship excellent and very compact. Needs some more work on the locking mechanism for the quick release that attached to the BC hose as they use a cable tie - looks cheap. The in line valve in the BC inflator Hose was extremely difficult to remove. I bent up a good pair of tweezers trying to remove it (a standard valve core remover was too short), I had to make my own using my dremel and a piece of hollow rod. Sure would be nice if they would add the piece that depresses the valve stem.

Comments about Aqua "Air Buddy" Alternate Air Source, fits on BCD Inflator:

I'm building a light-weight rig for traveling. This and a standard power inflator weighs about the same as an Atomic Titanium SS1.
However, it takes quite a bit of practice and delivers air slowly.
It works ok, but I wouldn't want to try to fight a heavy current while using it.

Comments about Aqua "Air Buddy" Alternate Air Source, fits on BCD Inflator:

I dive alot 60' or shallower w/ a horse color BCD
w/ a Spare Air and no safe second and this is the answer to an additional air supply and still maintain a steamline dive profile.
But you need to practice with it, takes some getting used to.
Your dive buddy needs to know they will get your
second stage and you use the Air Buddy becouse you have practiced w/ it.
Or add it to your existing set up for even more protection.
