Brand: Cressi

Minima is Cressi-sub's ground-breaking product, by matching the benefits of a standard mask with those of goggles, a brand new product has been designed which offers a comfortable fit and perfect watertightness coupled with top hydrodynamic properties and an extremely small internal volume. The anatomical skirt in soft hypo-allergenic silicone perfectly adjusts to the diver's face. Watertightness is improved by the strap with adjustable buckle similar to Cressi's conventional masks, ensuring a perfect fit to every type of face.

Minima's internal volume - which is actually "minimal"- allows for extremely easy compensation, thus making it the ideal mask for apnea divers. Outstanding hydrodynamic properties, due to its specially shaped profile without sharp angles, follows the diver's face outline. Small overall size and very light weight, in spite of tempered glass lenses, offers perfect all-round vision, without fog or distortion.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub "Minima" Two Window Mask, All Black:

When this mask is completely flooded it seems to hold about 3 teaspoons of water, so it's exceptional for anyone seeking true, low-volume performance. The range of vision is average+ as you consider the glare-reduction properties of dark-skirted masks. As an instructor, I can tell you that atm pressure on the airspace created by a mask has a wonderful way of keeping that mask sealed to your face. So, if while fitting the mask it seals to your face without the strap, it should stay on your head in the water with only slight tension on the strap. This should make the assertion that can be heard fom time to time regarding a tightness-retension problem with the mask a non-issue for anyone who doesn't have an especially large head.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub "Minima" Two Window Mask, All Black:

I use the mask for light swimming in lakes, pools and the ocean. The fit of the facemask is good, and the lenses are very clear and flat, so there is no visual distortion.

CONS:

The strap feels cheap, and the mask can't fit as snugly as I would like because the tightening mechanisms on either side of the mask don't hold the strap fast if the strap is tightened too much.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub "Minima" Two Window Mask, All Black:

Go with a regular mask. I bought this mask for underwater rugby thinking that the small profile and wide fit would be ideal but discovered that it didn't fit all that well and it has a VERY limited range of vision. It's almost claustraphobic! Bottom line: go with a regular mask..

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub "Minima" Two Window Mask, All Black:

I have a very hard face to seal a mask to, and because of the mask's large skirt, a seal is always guaranteed. The goggle like lenses take about one dive to get used too, but its a welcome change from a normal-sized mask.

Great low volume mask. The field of vision is not as wide as some other masks, but it works very well, has an excellent seal, and is super low profile in the water for good hydrodynamics during pool apnea and freediving.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub "Minima" Two Window Mask, All Black:

This mask is great as a primary or a back-up. I love its snug fit and the proximity to your eyes makes up for lack of larger lenses. The only problem I have with this product is the size of the strap. True the idea is minimal everything with the "Minima" mask, but I always feel like I'm going to snap the strap every time I put it on. I would suggest buying a thicker strap or reinforcing it in some way

A low, low volume mask. Allows my eye to get closer to a viewfinder. I does look a little funny. If my hood had a couple of black ears on the top I would look like Batman.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub "Minima" Two Window Mask, All Black:

I love this mask. The profile is so low that you don't notice any appreciable loss of visual range. In general, I avoid black masks for the lack of ambient light they provide, they tend to bring in the tunnel a bit but, again, due to the low profile it isn't an issue with this mask.

When I say, "Can't flood" I mean it. When I demonstrate mask clears in the pool for baby divers I have to struggle to not clear the mask inadvertently by simply exhaling into it prior to showing them. Nice problem to have.

It's so light and easy to wear you barely notice it's on. I've got some serious smile creases and have never had a leaking issue and I keep the strap pretty loose.

Another bonus: put neoprene ears on your hood and you make a passable "Scuba Batman"

Obviously, I dig this mask. The price and size make it a killer backup mask to pack if you don't use it as a primary. About to order another just to have it around.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub "Minima" Two Window Mask, All Black:

This mask is great. Low volume and with that low drag in current. The strap is pretty thin, so, clipping a snorkle to it allowed it to wave badly in the current when I would turn my head to the snorkle side. Placing the snorkle under the strap eliminated any problem. I have a large face with a high brow, so, fitment was a little tricky. However, now, there are no problems once I found "where" the mask sealed best on my face. Visibility is excellent (just as good as other full-face masks) because of the close proximity of the lens to the eyes. It does have a different look, but I have encouraged others to give this mask a try.
