Comments about Aqua Sphere Aqua Sphere Sphera Mask:

Mask of choice for many deep competitive freedivers and monofinners. Polycarbonate lenses will scratch easily. Has almost 180 degree horizontal field of view - excellent up - down is limited. Tiny internal volume.

Some of these correct about -1.5 diopters. I normally use contacts while diving but one of the spheras I have corrects my vision almost perfectly under water. They vary, however, from mask to mask and some people have difficulty getting used to the correction. My daughter got headaches from hers, but I gave her another one with less correction and its fine.

Comments about Aqua Sphere Aqua Sphere Sphera Mask:

A mask with very low volume, very suitable for freediving to bigger depths. It has low water resistance, which makes it useful for faster swimming in the pool or open water. It may be disturbing the first time you put it on, since the underwater scenery is not enhanced as much as by other masks, but soon you start enjoying the grand view. Because of a thin frame, the lenses can scratch or even fall out. Don't worry, usually an easy task to re-insert them, and scratches can be easily prevented by placing the mask in the box after using it.

Comments about Aqua Sphere Aqua Sphere Sphera Mask:

The peripheral vision of this mask is great. Very clear vision coming straight out with just slight distortion as you look out toward the side. Low profile is great for clearing should any water get in. The flexibility of the mask is great as I have been hit a few times playing underwater hockey and the mask just keeps working. Even on the rare big hits where the lens pops out I can easily pop it back in within minutes without any tools.

The one drawback for me is that after time the lenses deteriorate. Granted I use these masks for a couple hours at a time 3 days a week or more in a pool and never rinse them and the lenses are still good for 6-8 months of my abuse. I've seen others with lenses that last longer so I blame me more than the quality. Glass lenses will be better for longer but you have to deal with the stiffness and difficulty of repair should something happen.

Cons:
Leaks

Int'l uwhockey star

Comments about Aqua Sphere Aqua Sphere Sphera Mask:

not a bad uwhockey mask for most people! Leaks get worse after heavy use or hits to the mask as the frame loses its shape.
