Brand: Oceanic
Located in: Essential Equipment, Gauges
The Veo 100 is an economical and easy to use computer with state of the art features. Pressing just one button easily accesses all of its functions. Here it comes in a console with a SlimLine Submersible Pressure Gauge and a SideScan Compass.
The SlimLine tracks tank pressures up to 5,000 psi and has a thermometer at the base of its luminescent face.
The SideScan Compass can be read from the top or side, has a floating card that's luminescent for easy reading in low light and a ratcheted bezel. The lubber line is brightly colored to make it stand out.

The Veo offers large, easy to read alphanumeric displays and color coded graphs where green means "go", yellow means "caution" and red means "stop." The computer can be turned on before your dive, but if you forget to do this, it turns itself on underwater. The batteries have a lifetime of 300 hours and are user replaceable at any time without the loss of data.

User settable:
  • Time of day in either 12 or 24 hour format
  • Metric or Imperial measurements
  • Dive mode display (three choices)

Displays:
  • Current depth
  • Max depth
  • No decompression time remaining
  • Nitrogen loading
  • Variable ascent rate
  • Low battery
  • Time of day
  • Flashing safety stop icon and 3 minute timer
  • Time to fly
  • Nitrogen offgasing countdown

Depth rated for 330 feet, the Veo 100 adjusts automatically for altitude and salt or fresh water.
The Veo 100 lets you choose as many as three main dive mode displays and stores data from 12 dives. Since logged dives are time stamped, findinga particular dive is easy.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 100" Dive Computer Triple Navcon Console, Yellow:

While this computer has many functions, its display can be a bit confusing. Good for single or shallow dives. I would not want to be on a 100+ dive trying to figure out the display for how long to decompress.

With that said, I have not used it extensively, and might get better familiar with time.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 100" Dive Computer Triple Navcon Console, Yellow:

Used this diving in the colder northeast environments. So far (5 dives with it) this unit is a great BASIC dive computer. As stated in other reviews, you aren't getting a whole lot of advanced features. It is certainly better than using the tables! Many older used computers go for only slightly less on [...] and still don't have all the functions of the veo. You can't beat the price! Some points I'd like to elaborate after reading other reviews:This unit does give you temperature information but the temp seems slow to acclimate during a dive. You'll get a tool for removing the battery cover, making it easier than described in the manual.Your local dive shop may tell you that if you buy from leisure pro you won't have a warranty. I was able to register the product on oceanic's website and select leisurepro as an "authorized" dealer so I'm quite sure I now have a full warranty. If you are going to remove this from the wrist boot be careful to first remove the pin used to secure it in the boot, they don't mention it in the manual. The unit will stay on for 24 hours after your last dive but if you have logged everything, are done diving, and don't mind losing your data you can turn it off using the clearing feature to save battery life. The difference between the basic air and Nx Veo (besides the Nitrox capability of course) is that the Nx version does not indicate the date of your dives. This is no issue if you simply log everything after a day of diving.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 100" Dive Computer Triple Navcon Console, Yellow:

If you are looking for a BASIC dive computer with ONLY the bare minimum of functions, then this be adequate for you. I bought this dive computer as a replacement for my wife, but found that it was WAY too basic- even for a relative novice diver like my wife. For beginning divers, a dive computer with things like an ascent bar graph, audible alarms to warn for exceeding bottom time or rapid ascent, and a backlight would almost be a necessity...
This dive computer MIGHT make a good back-up instrument for more advanced divers IF you don't do nitrox diving, as this does NOT have nitrox capabilities(go with the Veo 100nx instead).
Overall, even with it's simplicity, it's a durable and affordable dive computer....

Service & Delivery comments:

As always, the item came FAST and shipping charges were reasonable... I ALWAYS check on LeisurePro when I'm looking for equipment FIRST and have found time and again that they CANNOT be beat on price, selection, or service!

My wife and I are frequent divers and recently did both a cave dive and reef dive. We both have our own Oceanic and both performed well. There ease to use and provide a safety net that no diver should be without.
This is a great product for recreational divers and I would not recommended for advanced divers.
It does not download to your computer and if your looking for that you need to look for a more advanced model.
Overall I would recommend this product and for the cost it's unbeatable.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 100" Dive Computer Triple Navcon Console, Yellow:

Has very big numbers that are very easy to read and has enough features for most divers.
The one bad thing about it is changing the battery it is a very poorly designed system, and you are never quite sure if you did it right until you try it,so it could be very easily flooded. Also when diving in cold water the battery meter always reads at lower levels, even with a new battery.

Great basic computer. Remember to log your dives...no PC interface at this price level. Keep an eye on your gauges, especially during ascent...no audible alarm on this basic model. Recommend a shallow test dive if you get the console...My veo 250 air gauge flooded...replaced, good ever since. Seems a trend with the brand. BUT....Overall a great little computer. Can't beat it or it's brother the Aeris XR-1 for the price.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 100" Dive Computer Triple Navcon Console, Yellow:

I have had no problems in almost 2 years with this Oceanic computer. Easily adjusts for EAN/air changes when diving. Use of a little LED light attached to the gauge pressure hose/wrist easily lights the entire console while wreck, night or deep dives. I use a single LED light and always leave it attached on the hose. It aids low light/no light conditions in seeing the console AND acts as a tertiary light backup just in case. Initially the 3 info screens can be confusing but sitting with the directions and familiarizing yourself with its operation and data retrieval is imperative before diving. Your bathtub or the local pool is a great place to use it to become familar! Becomes intuitive very quickly. Saturation levels of gas (graphically represented) as well as dive time, temp, time remaining at depth, depth, etc are all recorded. Automatically gives the safety stop time countdown so you are not watching your watch AND the computer. Adjusts for higher altitudes (up to ~10k ft.) which is great for those of us who are certified altitude divers. After the dive it is easy to retrieve and record all of your data from the computer. Downfall is that it does not provide the ability to do a complete dive profile that is downloadable to a PC. If you want that, you'll have to move up the ladder in price to gain that feature. Otherwise, a fantastic little computer with the ability to do Nitrox for the price. For those of us on a budget it is the perfect 1st computer. It has worked admirably through all of my training and dives up through Divemaster in ocean and fresh water, 60 to 102 degree water temp.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 100" Dive Computer Triple Navcon Console, Yellow:

This is my second dive computer. I was looking for an affordable easy to use replacement to my old over simplified dive computer (Cochran Captain). I just finished two dive trips (7 dives) and I am really happy with the overall results. The computer is easy to use (water activated if you forget to turn it on) and has 3 different main screen displays that you can toggle between (1) depth and no deco time (2) depth, max depth, no deco time and elapsed dive time (3) depth, temp, time of day and dive time remaining. The important numbers, depth and no deco time are always displayed in large easy to read numbers and one can always see the a tissue loading bar graph indicating how close you are to deco mode. You should be aware that the computer provides a recommended safety stop at the end of the dive, with a count down timer similar to a deco stop. The computer also logs dives by linking the date and time of the dive along with the dive number for the day...Manual says it can log up to 12 dives and user replaceable battery should last 300 dives... I personally don’t like to wear the computer on my wrist so I removed it from the wrist module and inserted it into my dive console… check specifications on the size of your console to insure a proper fit. For the low cost [$] I can’t imagine getting a better computer.

Used for almost one year, about 50 dives so far. Only problem was that it arrived with low battery warning. Replaced it with new battery, but it lasted only about 6 weeks and about 25 dives. Repeated battery replacements indicate it is not going into suspend mode, and so drains the batteries. Good news, LeisurePro and Oceanic both very responsive to my concern and are repairing/replacing it under warranty. Retailer and manufacturer support is priceless.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 100" Dive Computer Triple Navcon Console, Yellow:

Got tired of renting and wanted a basic computer console. This fit the bill. The pressure gauge is easy to read, even in low light, and has a nice temperature gauge built in. The Veo computer is pretty simple to operate, but it takes a few dives to fully decipher all it is telling you (there are three screens in dive mode - each with different 411). Also, it could use a backlight mode. But after a while it is easy to scroll through the screens and after the dive bring up your log. I do intend to add a compass to the console though. Fortunately, that's an easy update. Last, the user is able to change the battery (so you can keep an extra one in your gear bag and save the dive) - but it takes some effort to get the hang of (use the battery changing tool it comes with, not a screw driver like the instructions say), so practice at home before needing to do it on the boat.

The computer works great for the price. If you think you ever might dive at night or caverns/caves you may want to look for one were the lcd screen can light up to view it easier. The pressure gauge has a glow in the dark material so it can still be read easy when you get into a dark area. I have put over 10 dives on this computer without having any problems with it, however if I did not already buy this one I would go on and pay a little more to get a different one.

The computer itself is esay to use and easyto read but lack of noise or vibration to let you know you too deep or ascending too fast.
