Brand: Oceanic
Located in: Essential Equipment, Gauges
Oceanic's Max-Depth is an air-filled analog instrument module with a time-tested design. The Max-Depth Gauge 60 Meter module, this analog depth gauge has two needles, one (tipped in fluorescent pink for high visibility) indicates current depth; the other indicates the maximum depth reached on a dive. After each dive the max depth needle can be reset to 0. Since the shallow depths - 3 to 10 meters - are where critical safety/decompression stops take place, the scale for those depths has been expanded to make it easier to read. The depths beyond those considered safe for sport divers - 40 to 60 meters - arefluorescent pink, noting caution. The Max-Depth has a luminescent face that allows it to be read in low light conditions. The Max-Depth is an excellent instrument for novice divers. It can be popped out of a console easily and replaced with an Oceanic dive computer whenever its owner is ready for the upgrade. The Oceanic Navcon Console includes the Max-Depth Gauge, Slim-Line Pressure Gauge and Compass. The Slim-Line Pressure Gauge is two instruments in one: a highly accurate spiral wound Bourdon tube pressure gauge that keeps track of tank pressures up to 400 bars and a thermometer that displays ambient temperature. The Swiv Compass gives reliable underwater navigation; the Side-Scan Compass is hard to beat. Large, easy-to-read bearing indicators on an extremely brightOcean-Glo¦ luminescent floating card make quick work of navigation, especially in limited visibility.

Depth Gauge Features:
  • Highly accurate air-filled diaphragm.
  • Expanded shallow scale from 0 to 10 meters
  • Luminescent face for low light.
  • Resettable needle indicates maximum dive depth.
  • Easy to Read Depth Gauge

Pressure Gauge Features:
  • Lexan Face and Glass-Filled Noryl Case
  • Compact Module
  • Luminous Face
  • Needle and scale from 0 to 400 bar are Fluorescent

Compass Features:
  • Proprietary design ensures quick response and smooth movement
  • Top or side reading
  • Ocean-Glo luminescent floating card absorbs light and glows approximately 7 times faster and longer than other materials
  • High visibility lubber line
  • Large ratcheting bezel
  • Direct and reciprocal index points

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic 200-ft Maxdepth Three Gauge Navcon SWIV Console "Metric":

Great set of gauges! I thought I would need to add prescription lens' to my mask to see. But once I got underwater (factoring the 30%magnification) I could see the gauges perfectly without (I wear glasses because I am far sighted). Also, the guages are very accurate. I added a compass to the cavity on the underside...it fit properly without any issues.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic 200-ft Maxdepth Three Gauge Navcon SWIV Console "Metric":

I bought this from Leisure Pro and am really happy with it. I've seen some consoles that seem like cheesy toys, but this is well made.

The best thing about this unit is that (on mine) the depth and compass are on the same side, so it's perfect for navigating when the vis is less than desirable. This way you don't have to flip the stupid console over to check depth (I ran into a ship's boiler doing that). That's just smart!

I would buy this unit again! Thanks LP!

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic 200-ft Maxdepth Three Gauge Navcon SWIV Console "Metric":

This is an inexpensive, standard Metric gauge that does its job. I was interested in a different model, but there was no metric version available. My only complaint on this model is that all of my dive instructors recommended a 3 min. safety stop "5m" below the surface, but in the depth gauge, "3m" is highlighted, not "5m". Just a minor detail.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic 200-ft Maxdepth Three Gauge Navcon SWIV Console "Metric":

Being a Brit living in Australia, I was very pleased to be able to purchase a metric gauge on a US site. I dive on computer, so only really needed this as a back up and for the compass. I was a little worried about the potential problems of using a northern hemisphere compass down under, but this one seems to work fine. I use an elasticated lanyard to keep the gauge close into my BCD and so the swivel function works well at ensuring its still easy to view.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic 200-ft Maxdepth Three Gauge Navcon SWIV Console "Metric":

I ordered the "old style" max depth guage and was sent this one instead. Naturally I am more than happy with the upgrade, thanks LP. Bought this b/c I trained with these and they are by far the most easy and intuitive to read at depth IMO. Have not used this unit but have done dives with this guage before and it's great. If you're looking for a basic guage setup without spending hundreds on a computer, or are looking to backup your computer with an analog setup, this is perfect. Can be fitted with a compass if desired. Great buy.

Nice gauge setup. Dials are well layed out. Depth gauge is calibrated for accurate reading a shallow depth, making it easy to nail the 15' safety stop depth. Compass is positioned at a good angle for easy reading.

It is just what any diver could need for the price. If you cant afford a computer yet this will do just fine till then. Pluss it is small enough to not get in the way and big enough to read. I highly recomend this product untill you can get a computer. I used this for three years and never failed me once.
