The SK-7 has set a new standard for dive compasses. The superior SK-7 features an exceptional tilt potential of +/- 30 degrees, which is 2-3 times larger than in conventional diving compasses, easy-to-read numerals on a phosphorescent compass card, and a largeside-reading window.

The firm-grip bezel with a ratchet at every fifth degree is especially designed to prevent sand and dirt contamination, thus allowing smooth turning in all conditions.

Since it is winter I have not used it underwater. From what I can tell it is very good quality. I have had other compasses and this is the best I have seen. Just using it around the house it seems to work very well. I can give you more in the Spring.

Great functioning compass, easy read to at almost any angle, fast response needle, illuminates very well. I operate an wrist mount Air Z Nitrox, the retractor system is a great system to remove clutter from your wrist and keep the compass handy when you need it, stowed away when not required.

I used this compass for my Underwater Navigation specialty certification dives. It worked very well, was easy to read and was able to help me return within 5' of my start point on a 6-sided random bearing traverse in water with visibility of 20' or less. I had used a wrist-mount compass for my open water certification and find this hand-held much better.

Best compass out that that I have used. The big plus is that it swings freely at extreme angles that would lock up other designs. Biggest drawback is lack of an integrated light that would help in reading the small numbers in poor visibility conditions. I have had to use my spare LCD light to read. Maybe even some magnification in the side window would help.

great stand alone, you need to pull it seperate from other instruments.
I lost my first one; bought a second. expensive for a compass, but worth it.
settels fast, glows with only a fast burst from a dive light, numbers easy to read. Very intuitive.

I have used this compass on approximately 40 dives and have only praise for this product. The +/- 30-degree tilt angle feature makes it very forgiving with regards to the angle at which it is held. The compass detaches from the retractor allowing for easy storage. The compass card operates very smoothly and it is very easy to see at night. This is a very high quality product.

This is a nice product as the compass works well and is easy to use and read. The only issue so far is the cable in the retractor has started to rust some and I wonder how long it will last. Its been over a year so far. I don’t see any issues right now or in the near future, but at some point it will have to be replaced.
