The SK-7 has set a new standard for dive compasses. The superior SK-7 features an exceptional tilt potential of +/- 30 degrees, which is 2-3 times larger than in conventional diving compasses, easy-to-read numerals on a phosphorescent compass card, and a largeside-reading window.

The firm-grip bezel with a ratchet at every fifth degree is especially designed to prevent sand and dirt contamination, thus allowing smooth turning in all conditions.

I prefer the back mount compass as it keeps the guage set shorter and more compact. Some prefer the end unit but it is a bit long with three guages in a row. I simply rotate the guage 180 degrees when I want to use the compass. Either way, it is a solid product. The Suunto Gekko computer, pressure guage, and back mount compass is a great choice without breaking the bank. I would buy the same set again.

Suunto's got it down: A build-your-own, build-what-you-want setup. This back-mount compass goes great with the SPG & depth gauge. So easy to put together, even a caveman could do it!

Yes, this ~will~ come out of the console piece so the compass can be place into the DSS bungee boot holder. (Takes a bit of persuasion with hot water and finding the right spot to stretch the console piece). Compass is extremely robust and easy to read.

There's a reason most tech divers use this compass. The main one being that it's readable at higher tilt angles than others.

The SK-7 is a great compass. It tilts to extreme angles, making it accurate even if it's not completely level. The side-view window makes navigation easy while on the move.

I got this version b/c it was the cheapest, and easily took it out of the console housing and placed it in a low-profile wrist-mount. Having a wrist-mounted compass makes a big difference.
