Brand: Aqualung
Located in: Essential Equipment, Gauges
The SK-7 has set a new standard for dive compasses. The superior SK-7 features an exceptional tilt potential of +/- 30 degrees, which is 2-3 times larger than in conventional diving compasses, easy-to-read numerals on a phosphorescent compass card, and a largeside-reading window.

The firm-grip bezel with a ratchet at every fifth degree is especially designed to prevent sand and dirt contamination, thus allowing smooth turning in all conditions.

Please note: The compass we sell is calibrated for Zone 1

Comments about Aqualung Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass:

I received this compass after reading really good reviews. I read that the strap was not great but doubted that it was that bad, however I would say that the strap should be improved and I am going to be using it with bungee straps. Really did not like the strap.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass:

I purchased this compass to augment my dive computer. I have not put prescription lenses in my dive mask yet, and my dive computer compass is difficult to read. This compass is easy to read without my glasses. It also does read when tilted as far as 30 degrees, just as advertised. I used this compass to pass my Advanced Diver navigation a couple days after taking it out of the box. The ONLY thing I'm not crazy about is the way it closes around the wrist. It's easy enough at the surface, but at depth readjustment is slightly challenging at first.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass:

I have had the chance to dive with this compass several times now and find it to be everything I hoped. It is very forgiving underwater with a +/- 30 degree tilt and it is clear and easy to read.

My wife had been struggling with a console compass and asked to try mine. Once was all it took and now we own two of these.

I highly recommend this as an outstanding product, but I also recommend ditching the strap (which is just terrible) and moving to a boot plate with bungee cords. It works like a dream in that configuration.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass:

Great compass, The rotating compass dial can be tilted a little more than other compasses, it is clear and it is fluoresent for easy reading at low or no light conditions, but that makes it a little bit bulky. The wrist strap is not very confortable to use at first, and it has a little robber stoper that it is ment to be lost.

Let's hope Sunto improves the wrist strap on this model.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Aqualung Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass:

I love the compass, it is easy to read in all conditions and isn't "picky" about being exactly level.I absolutely HATE the band though... Instead of using a buckle, it uses a fiddly "poke through the holes" setup which is REALLY hard to do one handed, especially when diving in cold weather and the rubber gets hard... this is one of the last things you put on, so basically you are pretty well geared up when putting it on, and fiddling with a band for 5 minutes to get it on is about the LAST thing I want to be doing.I am past the time where I can return it, so I am going to keep it until I can find a better band and then sell it [...].

Comments about Aqualung Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass:

Probably the best compass available, but the strap has a tendency to unbuckle. Also, the little rubber stop at the end of the strap was missing after my second dive. I would recommend using a safety pin to double secure the strap.

I used this compass while cenote diving and it was really accurate and easy to read in low / no light.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass:

This is definitely the BEST compass you can get. Easy to use and read. It has an excellent tilt rating. Many technical divers rely on this compass; so should you. The watch strap is good; but would suggest a bungee instrument mount deep sea supply.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass:

Here in the Northwest the vis can be poor and being able to navagate by compass is a must. The Sunto is the best I have used. It does not hang up, it works well at most angles and is easy to read. I dive a dry suit with dry gloves and find the compass easy to put on and adjust.

Best Uses:
Any kind of diving
Describe Yourself:
Advanced Diver
Bottom Line:

Comments about Aqualung Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass:

This is the best wrist compass and a wrist compass is more accurate than a console as you can hold it in a repeatable position. When looking at a compass on a console it is difficult to impossible to hold it in the same orientation every time even the height that you mount the cylinder will affect the result as you have more or less hose so the console will sit at a slightly differant angle this means you will read a differing heading almost everytime. But with a wrist compass it you have the compass on your Left arm and take bearings when holding your right elbow you will be able to replicate the same possition every time.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass:

The gauge is designed to be readable even at an angle, and that makes it handy even when you're not perfectly level. The bezel and strap are also extra large, which makes them easy to use over a drysuit or with heavy gloves on. My only criticism is with the strap locking mechanism. It is robust, but hard to fasten, even without gloves on. Overall though, I'm happy with this compass.
