I'm a male with size 11 feet and the small-med size is just right for me, even though it's listed for up to 7 or 8. I'm wearing 5mm booties... might want to try them with thicker booties or booties that have the rubber on top as well. I can tighten the straps all the way and it's still not tight enough - will get different straps or again, try with fatter booties.
