Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I learned to dive in 1985 and these were the fins I learned to dive with. After 18 years I am getting back into diving and checked out various sites to see how these fins stacked up against newer "sleaker" models. They are in perfect shape, a few scuffs here and there, but I decided to keep them since based on these reviews.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Perfect fins for any environment especially drysuit dives. The fins can withstand a ton of abuse and last forever.A must have in addition to lightweight fins for tropical warm water diving
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
The other reviews will testify how these fins are possibly the only fins you will ever need. Not the flashiest color, not a crazy eye-catching design, but tried and true in all conditions. These tear through current better than anything I have ever tried.
The only trick is to be careful on the foot size measurement. Your boots you wear with these fins can have a strong impact on what size to get. I wear a men's US 7, but with 5mm boots with a thick sole, I needed a large.
Also, the straps are not easy. Get spring straps and you have the perfect set of fins for all conditions.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I bought my first set as an instructor in Gainesville, Florida in 1978 and I'm still using the same ones. Be sure to buy the 'lightning' jet fins since they are a bit lighter than the old traditional ones.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
These fins are excellent for dry suit and technical diving. They perform better than any split fin in a strong current. Don't drop them though as they will sink to the bottom, upside of their weight is no ankle weights needed. Not really suitable for novice recreational divers or those without a lot of lower leg strength.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
These fins were the best available to the U.D.T (now called Navy Seals) I've had mine for 38 yrs and they serve me well. Tried the new-fangled LONG fins of all styles.....gimme my Jetfins any day!
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
It is great fin with my drysuit, especially with it's little weight, I don't have to wear the ankle weight (but you need some practice to not to wear ankle weight)anymore. Do you a favor by getting the spring hill strap for the fin, it is much easier to put it on and off.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Fantastic product. I acquired these fins when the set I was using on a trip developed multiple cracks. I payed nearly double the price for them at the local dive shop, but would do it again in a pinch. I used to own a pair of Gorilla fins that were given to me second hand years ago, and when I saw these I grabbed them immediately. I have had them nearly a year and am extremely satisfied. The only downside is the lack of draining holes or vents in the toes. This causes the fins to hold water in the foot while exiting the water.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Feels like they'll last forever. How does the saying go? "If it works dont mess with it" Just make sure You order a size larger if you have "thick botties". Also, you may want to consider a pair of "scuba Pro spring heel straps". Will make it a whole lot easier putting them on and taking them off. Last but not least; a little heavy but worth their weight.
P.S. Had to exchange mine for a larger size ("thick booties":)). The guys at Leisure Pro were real good about it. No hassles.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Great Fins. I have size 16 feet so my fin choices were VERY limited. Other reviewers said these werent very efficient fins but the XXL size that i bought work very well. They fit well but my only complaint is that the boot pocket is very tall. Looks to be made for thicker boots / dry suit. Only took me about 15 min to get used to it...after that it was like butta.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
This fin is an all-time classic. I owned a pair about 20 years ago, and decided to pick up another pair after changing to the twin-jet fin a number of years back. This fin is slightly wider than many, giving it good surface area for propulsion. Strap is a bit difficult to pull off while at the ladder when re-entering the boat. I've seen a lot of folks add a spring-strap modification for this reason.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I bought my first set of these old timers at a yard sale 20 years ago ( or so ) and thought they were good.
Sold them and got some newer style longer fins and 5 minutes into my next dive, I wanted my old jetfins back!! The new fangled ones were actually folding in half when I'd try to get moving...
I now own another pair, and love to watch people smirk when I pull them out.
then I disappear!
These things are stiff enough to let you explode away from a dead float, and stop on a dime!
Short enough to allow quick turns and twists.
You fad divers can have your fancy stuff. I'm keeping my old fuddy-duddy flips!

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I have been using these for years for cave diving. They are heavy, stiff, and shorter than many fins. They are very durable. They are certainly not efficient or fast. I would not recommend them for recreational or open water diving but they are good for technical diving.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
These have been around for many years and are still in use. That alone says a lot. The split fins supposedly give more speed, but I am not racing. In my opinion these are as good as it gets, and the price is incredible relative to many of the "fad" fins. I suspect that these fins will still be in production many years from now.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I have a size 11 foot (Mens US) very wide and the XL's with the 10'' spring straps fit perfect with normal booties. These are fantastic fins! highly recommend them. they provide great power and pin point control only downside is the weight.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Stiff fins, great for accurate motion control under water. Even better when setup with heel springs.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Still THE Professional fin ...
I have size 10.5 wide feet and own both the the XL and the XXL.
The XL works for most with standard boots and is very efficient with a powerkick
The XXL fits over athletic shoes when doing run-fin-run conditioning
My first set lasted nearly 20 years..

although heavier than "today's" science-fiction fins, if you are physically fit enough to use them they are perfect especially under heavy load. just perfect for my needs as a commercial diver
perfect customer service and care. thanks

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I use both XL and L Jet fins, XL for deep and wreck dives, L for reef and shore dives. My wife uses the M Jet fins, easier for her to power. I had one L pair last 30 years of diving, just replaced them this year from LeisurePro and saved about $32.00 with shipping on the total purchase.Great fins will last like all things if you take care of them.

30 years as a diver in clear water, black water, under the ice, confined space, swift water rescue, nothing has ever come close to the performance of Scube Pro Jet Fins. Best of the best.

Great fins if you wear drysuit boots.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I use Apollo Split fins for recreational diving, but for my tech class these fins were perfect for Frog kicks and helicopter turns. I listed the heavier weight as a plus as they helped my weight distribution.
You also can't beat LeisurePro's price

Large foot pocket accommodates large dry suit boots well. For search and rescue work, these solid fins will take abuse well. The heavy weight helps with boyancy control in my dry suit - keeps my feet horizontal.

these fins are for the diver that likes to kick and go somewhere. the other split fins were a wast of my time. I'd kick but go nowhere. these fins are great for strong swimmers

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
There is a reason that these fins have been in continuous production since the 60's! There is a reason that these are the prefered fins for the military, cave, wreck, and technical divers! That reason is that ScubaPro got them right the first time and then left them alone!
I have been diving for forty years now and I have never used a better fin.
This fins offers incredible power and control. You can easily do manuevers with them (helicopter, reverse sculling, etc.) that are difficult or impossible with lessor fins.
They are shorter and easier to pack than most. And, their slightly negative bouancy offen aids in achieving proper trim.
Try them for a while and you are unlikely to want to use anything else!

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
The best open heel fin made for most types of diving and snorkeling, period. If weight is a concern, try the OMS knock-offs that are a little lighter.

I really love these fins. This is my 2nd pair, I wore out the 1st pair. I traveled to the Philippines with them and the only drawback is, they're very heavy. But they provide perfect stability in the water.

I purchased these for my nephew and have done so for me and my wife and my wife's nephew and neice and have made over 600 dives personnaly with mine and so has my wife and they have never failed us or anyone we know that uses ScubaPro JetFins.
I inspect our fins before diving and always keep up with the straps so I replace them when needed and I haven't been let down! And neither has the US Marine Corps or Navy!

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
These good old-timers have place anywhere where gimmick features are not desirable. Basic construction, high efficiency and durability are the best traits. They are quite heavy but it can be just the extra weight to eliminate for ankle weights. The only negative thing I have is sizing. I have XL and XXL sizes but there is definitely a space for one size between them. While the XL size fits me tight on size 9 (5 mm wet) boot, the XXL is almost too big on a heavy dry suit boot with two pairs of wool socks.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Virtually indestructible. Extremely tough.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Love using these fins with my wetsuit booties. They are perfect for my recreational usage and or technical application. Rugged, efficient, low cost and durability make this fin a great investment.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Great product. It give us a lot of performance and stability.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
The staff was very helpful with the sizing of this fin. I also like the policy that if it didn't fit Leisure Pro would make it right at no extra charge. The fin is very powerful and heavy, but I knew this through me research and was exactly as I expected.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
The ScubaPro Jet fins are a great piece of gear. Their design is tried and true, as it has not undergone any changes in over 30 years. They provide excellent propulsion and power (a must for rescue/salvage applications) but consequently are very heavy.
Make sure you have booties with a solid sole or the pocket will be too wide and the fin will move side-to-side abraiding your foot--not fun on long swims. Being made entirely of rubber, they will not lose their shape if abused or forgotten in the bottom of a gear bag.
For the serious diver, this is the only set of fins you'll ever need.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Great propulsion using these fins.

I work as a rescue swimmer for a fire department in Maine. I got these fins about 5 months ago. These fins are superior to anything I have worn before. They allow you to swim very efficiently with much less effort. After seeing them in action other members of our marine team are going to purchase these fins as well...

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
To use this fin properly you have to work your way to it slowly by using first a hard fin to prepare your legs for this very strong fin. Otherwise you get cramps every once in a while. Take also electrolytes ( Magnesium, Pottassium ...) to prevent cramps untill your leg mussels have adapted.
Nothing beats this fin against the strongest current.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
These fins are heavy but that is an advantage - the weight is used to balance the diver in the water to maintain horizontal.
They are stiff, so excellent for finning backwards

GOOD OLD SCHOOL!!!
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
These are excellent fins that provide a lot of thrust but require a higher fitness level from the diver. They are more compact than many fins on the market today, many of which tend to be much longer. I find I get superior position and attitude control with these fins than others I've tried. Get some practice swimming with them before going on a big dive trip, because they do require strong muscles!

These fins are awesome I like to dive as much as I can in oceans, lakes and rivers I have not had any problems with these fins at all. They go on and off easy which is always nice and move you through the water with minimal effort. I have been using the same pair of fins for the past four years and have loved them ever since. i will continue to buy these fins as long as ScubaPro will make them.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I'm pretty much going to echo most of the other revers' sentiments: if you're going to buy a set of fins, get these. Super comfy, compact (they fit anywhere, and people won't be tripping over your fins on the dive boat), and with enough power to propel you through the water like a Polaris missle - very handy for dealing with the strong currents here in the Northeast. I've heard talk that they're not very flutter-kick friendly because of their stiffness, but they worked really well with both flutter and frog kicks. Bottom line: there's a reason these fins are favored by military divers, and that's because they rock.
One thing: the sizing seems off. I wear a size 7 7mm Instadry boot, but the medium fin didn't fit - I had to swap it for a large.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Every time some new split, cut, rubber banded or any other new fin comes out I try it. I'm a geek for fins. Everytime I stay with my jetfins. They have the most propulsion of any fin I've ever used. In heavy current, they've saved my life.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
OLD SCHOOL, U CAN NOT GO WRONG. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
They are most respected fins in Cave/Tech diving community and very efficient for Frog and Backward kicks propulsion techniques. I'd not recommend Jet Fins for snorkeling: too heavy for Flat Kick used during surface swim. But Heavy IS perfect for Scuba Diving because there is no need for extra weights.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
If you dive a DUI rockboot size 11 and maybe even a size 10, you must get these fins in a 2XL. I got the XL first and they did not even come close to fitting my size 11 rockboots.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I replaced a pair of jet fins that I had bought 30 years ago, the ribs began to crack from age. If I get another 30 years out of these new fins, I will be very satisfied.
I am a certified scuba diver, but because my wife does not dive, I just snorkel most of the time. These fins give me excelent propulsion when needed. I like the stiffness that some other reviewers seem to dislike about these fins.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Great fins for use with a drysuit. Excellent control and propulsion, especially in light current. Maybe a little 'heavy' for some, but you can drop some weight. This is my second set, first set were stolen. Although I bought the 'springs' they may not be necessary. Try the supplied straps before buying the springs, your tastes may be different.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
These fins really get you moving in the water. My first pair of fins were ScubaPro twin jets and although I really liked them I found that I really liked to frog kick in the water, which split fins are not very efficient at. My jets really move me through the water now when I frog kick and I really appreciate their rugged, durable construction. The military and almost every single tech diver on the planet can't be wrong!!!!!! try them you will love them.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I'm on my 2nd set. I always carry them in my bag, just love them. However, a warning for those new to the sport. Some cramping might be experienced due to the extra effort required. Most notably, if wondered a bit further than anticipaped, and under surge conditions the kicking back portion of the dive could not be as pleasant. I've seen this happen more than once. So, as always, don't push beyond your abilities.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
These are the first pair of fins that I have used. They work really well, are very durable, and as the other reviews say, they propel you far and are good against current. However, the sizing is a little small and they are narrow fins so if you have wide feet, as I do, your feet start to cramp if you buy too small. So if you buy these, buy big, other than that they are a great product.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Best for use with dry suite since they are heavy. They give a good powerful kick especially when wearing lots of gear and kicking into a strong current
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Just amazing fins. Being an instructor, I've tried other fins with students and go through so many different products.
After 12 years, the only reason I bought a new pair was because I lost one of the others!
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Excellent fin- does exactly what I wanted. Too Cover some area. I was tired of kicking and getting nowhere especially in a current. Well no-more These babies are the best but they are a little heavier and feel stiffer than most, but speed certainly makes up for it.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Great fins, awesome power and fantastic classic design.
One thing to note, is that the sizes are a bit wack. I have a size 14 shoe, and bought a XXL pair of fins. I have a friend who has a size 10 shoe, and bought a XL pair of fins. The size difference between the 2 is ridiculous.
Mine fit perfectly with a size 14 boot on, however my friends fins were far far too small for him. He needs to buy the XXL's and get a chunkier boot to make best use of the fin. If using a dry suit with rock boots, then go with the XXL pair, unless of course u have a very small foot. I would suggest the XL to be closer to a size 8 or 9 with a boot on.
Also, the spring straps from scubapro are very good with this fin. With the spring straps, I'd suggest that this is a fin you could almost use for life.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I dove with these for years but had to switch to the next big thing when Twin Jets came out. I've come to my senses and gone back to the tried and true Jet Fins. They're not as sexy, but they get the job done better than any other fin I've ever used.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
This classic fin works as advertised. It gives plenty of power when flutter kicking and works superbly a frog kick. The weight helps keep the feet down in a drysuit.
The only real drawback are the terrible straps attached to these fins, which is why almost everyone who uses them has replaced it with a spring strap.

I've used this fin from the day I started taking open water classes in 1988 and wouldn't use any other type of fin. My son who is now a rescue diver started using fins he picked out at a store that didn't sell scubapro. After trying my jet fins he was convinced that the jet fins were the best, we both have a new pair. By the way my I still have and use the set of fins I bought in 1988. This product is a great performer and a lifetime pruchase

I've taken numerous references about the weight and Navy SEALs; however for a single fin to own, I'll put these up against any other, and win.
Easy on the leg muscles, but power as soon as you want it from a swift kick.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
These fins feature a classic time proven design. I love the durability and strength of these fins that really help you jet along underwater. I have seen more military and professional divers use the Scubapro Jet fin than any other type of fin. These fins will outlast any fin on the market, I believe.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
An old design that was gotten right the first time. This fin propels you well on a flutter kick, yet allows alternate kicks (frog, etc) with precision control. Shorter than most other fins, it's easier to walk in if you have to.
The only complaints that I have are that the fin is made of a heavy material. They are much heavier than others that I've used. Also, the strap is difficult to adjust because it's the old design buckle. I found that I simply pull the strap down below the foot pocket, then put my foot in and stretch the strap over my ankle.... easy to do.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I bought these because I needed a fin that would accommodate DUI Rockboots. The foot pocket on these fins (XXL) is huge, and my size 14 Rockboots fit in them easily. My only criticism is with the buckle. It is very sturdy, but hard to adjust. If you set them up once and don't mess with them, you should be fine, but I wouldn't suggest trying to adjust them right before you're about to giant stride off the back of a dive boat, or while wearing heavy gloves. These fins are classic for a reason, but I wouldn't mind seeing ScubaPro upgrade the buckles to something more functional.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Do not like them, too short and heavy and bulky don't feel like they propell you as I would like
We got them for my husband but neither of us use them now, they are basically a back up pair or we have thought of selling them
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Good all around fins for snorkeling or diving. Proven design is very durable and generates a lot of power, especially for strong legs that like to kick hard.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
I first encountered the jet fin 20+ years ago while learning about snorkeling in college. On a college budget, they were outside my price range. And for snorkeling, I didn't want anything so heavy. But they *moved* me through the water. Years later, got my scuba certs. Wore several diff fins during classes. Once certed, was surprised to discover jet fins still existed, as a friend had a couple pairs. Tried them again, and haven't looked back. Only problem I found was pulling them off if I sized them to my foot and wore boots. Sized them one up (XL instead of L), and they are perfect for boat diving.

Great fins. Took some advice from two guys at work who dive and own pairs. Also upgrade to a spring strap for easier access. One of the best decisions I made for my dive gear.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
The best fins that I have tried thus far. They fit well with my Rock Boots. I added some spring straps. Great fins for frog kicking and I get good propulsion with little effort.

Jets are your most basic, indestructible, bare bones, rubber fins. Great for frogkicking, backkicking, helicopter kicking, you name it. I've spent twice as much for half the fin.

These are the best fins at the best prices anywhere! Thanks [...]

An old school design that works, responds well when you have the power to kick it!
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Bought the fins based on the fact I have a size 15 foot. Unfortunately the fins are much too wide. [...] Bottom line, don't buy from [...] it's much better to go to your local dive store.

Superb fins with plenty of power. Excellent craftmanship. Used them with DUI dry suit & Rock Boots... great fit. Just got back from diving in Barbados using hard soled wetsuit boots, again great fit. Size 10 hard-sole boot = X-LG Jet Fin. Personally had no problems with the standard rubber heel strap.

I have been using these fins since before I was certified. I found the first one free diving off the Ca. coast and had to buy the mate. I have tried many fin designs in 30 years and have always come back to the jet fins.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Scubapro's Jet Fin have been around for a very long time. This is my second pair in just over 20 years of diving. While these fins are a bit heavier than many on the market, considering travel weight restrictions, etc., they are impervious to just about any kind of damage. Replacing the standard rubber heel strap with a spring heel strap increases comfort, and allows you to avoid adjustments when you switch from one type of wet suit boot to another.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
THE JET FINS GIVE THERS USER A LOT OF POWER ON EVERY TIME HE MOVES THEM.
THEY ARE REALLY COMFORTABLE FOR SCUBA DIVING BUT LESS FOR SWIMMING.
THOSE FINS CAN BE USED FOR SO MANY YEARS WITHOUT ANY DAMGE .
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
These fins are for those with strong kicking ability but will give you lots of power.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
This is my third pair of fins. I like them the best because they give me perfect trim whilst diving in my dry suit and are the most efficient fins on the market to execute the backward kick.
In a wet suit they feel a little heavy and more effort is required to maintain trim esp. if utilising frog kick.
Very sturdy design. Spring straps that come as an option are a must in my opinion.
Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
Extra large has perfect weight for trim in dry suit. It also fits my wet suit boots. They are great for helicopter turns and backing up Yes suimming backwards in a restricted area where you cannot go forward any farther and cannot turh around. Also great for inverted non silting kicks.

These fins are the best and they only get better if you add the spring straps and the price tag will still be less than most other fins on the market.

The best set of fins around by far. Perfect for instructors and advanced divers. You can propel yourself and a student / intro with ease and just as easy with a 120# 4 tank tech rig.

Comments about Scubapro ScubaPro Jet Fins, Black:
The Scubapro jetfins were released in the 60's and they are still the best fins on the market today..
I have some friends who have tried the other fancy "split" fins on to find out that scuba equipment is heavy and the only way to efficently move you and your equipment throught the water is by moving alot of water with your fins.. Everyone keeps comming back to the Scubapro jetfins..

I trained on jet fins 20 years ago and they are still the best fin on the market. I've tried split fins and the only difference is the price. Save your extra coin for a computer and buy these fins.
