Other than they are a bit hard to get locked in position when in the water, these were awesome and I got a ton of questions from other divers that want a pair.
Comments about Omega Aquatics Amphibian Flipfins Scuba Fins:
I've used Omega Amphibian Flip Fins EXCLUSIVELY for the past 3 years and there's a reason for that.
They're that good.
95% of my diving (roughly 200 dives a years) is done in south Florida in heavy current....they handle the current very well.
More than half of that 95% is beach diving.
How nice is it to be able to walk into the surf ready to go....no fumbling with donning fins while the waves toss you around, making your life miserable?
Boats dives?....Lovely.
I'm usually the person who's all geared up, walking around helping everyone else shuffle and struggle to the platform in regular fins.
Walking around in these fins is no different than walking around in your dive booties.
I've read a few posts from folks who say climbing a ladder in these is difficult.
I don't have much trouble with ladders. If you wait until the fins are fully flipped up, No Problem.
If you still don't feel comfortable climbing the ladder in them....you can do what everyone else who wear a regular fin does....take em off and hand them up to the deck hand.

Ok product, a bit heavy for normal kicks. Lock/unlock mechanism a bit difficult to use.

Comments about Omega Aquatics Amphibian Flipfins Scuba Fins:
I have used these fins for two years and over 100 dives. It took some getting used to the technique of climbing up a ladder. They are great for a crowded boat; I have used them on several beach dives with no problem. The locking mechanism has held up well.

The "Flip Fins" were very helpful while moving around in a crowed boat.

Comments about Omega Aquatics Amphibian Flipfins Scuba Fins:
They really work... you can walk in them, heck, you can even dance in them. They are very solidly constructed, with some non-slip rubber under the foot pocket to avoid slipping on pool decks. Really useful for tec divers staggering around with sling tanks under each arm, but nice for the rest of us too.
The two big knocks that I had read were (i) hard to engage in the water, and (ii) if you dive without a fullsuit, they rub the front of your legs. I didn't find either to be the case - one quick kick and you are off, and, although I wouldn't run a marathon in them, they are not uncomfortable to walk around in.
The one thing I do still struggle with is climbing ladders in them (when you step up, the blade "catches" the water and tries to lock down). But I suspect it is a matter of perfecting the "leaning back" technique when climbing the ladder.
I do worry a bit about how long they will last. They look really solid, but once the locking mechanism goes, you would have to throw them away. We'll just have to see...
Comments about Omega Aquatics Amphibian Flipfins Scuba Fins:
I liked at first, but after about 10 shore dives one fin cracked up the middle under the boot. Then after about 15 dives the latch broke. So no more flip fin. If you do boat dives these fins would be great, if you shore dive, put them on in the water.

Comments about Omega Aquatics Amphibian Flipfins Scuba Fins:
Fins are easy to walk in, great for moving around a crowded boat. Even greater on entry, and lock easily with just a couple of kicks.
However, if you had to walk very far in them, one needs to be wearing a fairly heavy suit, as they rub on the front of your legs.
These are big fins, which take a lot of force to move.. compared to split fins they are a tough change. However, if you use jets or some other solid fin, they would be easy.
With one of my boots, I could not move the latch (depends on the heal "edge", and had to remove to get on the boat. Other boots worked fine.
Bottom line, I actually like them..just need to get used to the strengh required to kick with them.

Comments about Omega Aquatics Amphibian Flipfins Scuba Fins:
These worked well on the tenders used to take us to dive site. Made it easy to move around in the restricted space. Good shin protection when getting back on board. Works well, decent propulsion properties.

Very well made fin, a little wierd to look at, but they acutally WORK!! Love being able to walk in the fins. The release catch is stiff and requires a little practice to get use to.
