Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
I have a pair of Hollis F-1's that I really like but are extremely heavy and rather impractical for travel at about 2x the weight of the OMS. I took a chance on the Slipstreams with the intent of giving them to my son. He never got them as they'd clearly be small for him and I got the chance to try them first. The footpocket in the size I'd ordered (XL) were better suited for a soft boot (10) but I didn't need them for a dry boot (11) anyway. They would suffice with the rock boots if necessary.
They are a very stiff, but lightweight fin and require a strong leg/calf/ankle for scissor kick. They really excel with frog kick and work well for backing up. The rubber strap works well enough but I much prefer a spring style and actually cut the strap mounts off and replaced with a standard post salvaged from another fin using a bookscrew to accept some less specialized springs. The sides of the foot pocket are actually stiff enough to do this with!
These are my travel/spare fin and a very close runner up in choice to the F-1's, which I generally grab with the drysuit. Otherwise, its usually the Slipstreams with neo boots.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
I wear a mens size 11 hard sole 5mm bootie. And the XL fin fits fine. My dive buddy has the Scubapro jet fins in XL. We compaired the fins side by side and they look identical in size, shape, width and length. Even the vents are the same. The only difference we could find, is the OMS fin material is a little bit lighter in weight and the OMS fin blade is a little stiffer. And the OMS fins cost less. I believe this fin will outlast me and my future grand kids. I would also recommend getting the spring straps.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
I dive a lot and these fins took a little bit to get used to. I think the idea of putting them in the sun or hot bathtub is a good one. But like a good pair of boots they now fit like a glove. They generate great power when needed and can be subtle too. I really like these fins. Get the OMS springs.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
These fins are very good but extremely difficult to adjust. Other then that they are fine and i would recommend a size XXL for shoe sizes 13 and up

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
I fooled with "snorkle fins" for awhile and gave up, coming back to these true diving fins. Predictably, these fins take up a bit of room in the suitcase, but are well worth the inconvenience. Slippers or boots are a must for these fins.

Reviewed several posts online for a good fin for drysuit boots. It was a toss up between these and Powerfins. I chose these and coun't be happier- Enjoyed them so much bought a size smaller (XL) for regular bottie dives. I wear a size 12 Whites dry suit boot and the 2XL's fit great

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
Great price. Bought it instead of the jet fins because they were cheaper and on sale. The jet fins are nice and comfortable and soft, rubber. These are like a hard plastic with a rubber coating. They are not as comfortable as the SPJet fins. I found that they left the top of my foot hurting after 2 dives.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
I USE LARGE FINS FOR WETSUIT DIVING AND XL FOR DRYSUIT DIVING. HOWEVER, WITH THOSE MY SIZE IS 2XL (FOR DRYSUIT DIVING). THEY ARE VERY STIFF - GOOD FOR DIVING USING FROG KICKS WITH DOBLE TANKS (TWINS) ON WRECKS, CAVES, DEEP .... BEACAUSE THEY ARE VERY STIFF IT MAY TAKE SOME DIVES TO BECOME USED TO IT. THE SPRING STRAP IS A MUST WITH THOSE FINS.I GOT THE SPRING STRAPS ONE SIZE SMALLER THAN THE FINS AND IT WORKED GOOD.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
These really stand up to frequent diving and heavy useage. Stongly recommend to purchase fins with the spring heel straps which allows a perfect fit regardless of boot size.
Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
Hope they last 30 years like my last set of jet fins

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
These things are nice to keep your feet from getting "floaty." They also give feedback for finning forward or backward. Springs are a must and should be standard not and option. Plenty of thrust yet not as long as the Volos so more control in overhead environments.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
Whether single tank diving or diving doubles and/or stages, these fins can move you and your gear efficiently.
Vs jetfins: These are far lighter (neutrally bouyant) allow better trim for tall divers in neoprene, and won't bust your baggage allowance. They may have less snap than a jetfin but for me the improved power transfer (wearing 5mm booties w standard vulcanized rubber sole) more than made up for it. My old XL jets' pockets are too wide and not tall enough. The OMS pockets are far better but could still be a little taller, although they do improve after breaking-in. The idea of a hot water bath (or leaving them in the tropical sun) then putting them on to accelerate the break-in is a good idea. I did the latter. I don't wear molded sole boots (too tight) or 3mm (not as comfy) booties w these fins.
Be warned: these are for stronger ankles. They are indeed stiff which gives them their torque and enhances manueverability.Hands down the most powerful fin for frog kicks. If you fin efficiently, ie kick and glide, kick and glide, these save air over a floppier fin. Like a diesel engine, the more gear (mass+drag) you're moving, the greater the advantage of these stiff fins.
The original rubber straps are pretty good. They are tough and have a big pull loop. That said, I just ordered the OMS springstraps ;-)

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
Same design as the Scuba Pro Jet fin, but the "lighter" plastic is much stiffer removing the fish like flex that makes the jet fin so powerful. These are no substitue for the Scuba Pro Jet Fins.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
These fins had a break in period, and I accelerated the process by filling the bathtub with hot (not scalding) water and standing in them with my ankles flexed. The foot pockets tended to dig into the dorsal ridge of my foot, and I have narrow feet. The hot water bath improved that tremedously. I have so far used them on a couple dozen dives, and found them to be very powerful fins, but you will need very strong legs to scissor kick effectively. They really shine for frog kicking (like all paddle fins do). I very much like the positive buoyancy. I'm hoping that the foot pockets will wear a bit better than Jetfins.

These are great fins that work as well in the pool as a cave.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
Excellent for size 11 Rockboots, so I use it for drysuit diving. For warmer water, I prefer a lighter, split fin that is more efficient.
Springs are a must and should be standard.

Delivers all the pluses of Jets without all the weight. XL w/springs fit my size 10 soft boots perfectly.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
I used ScubaPro Jet Fins for a while. They are heavy and tend to pull the legs down which can affect your trim (I'm 6'5" and have long legs). The OMS SlipStream Fins are neutrally buoyant and lighter than the JetFins, which I prefer. They are a bit stiffer than the JetFins which I personally like. Finally, the foot compartment is MUCH more comfortable. The JetFins and SlipStreams are made out of a slightly different material.
I've used both fins in caves, and they are both great for frog kicking, shuffle kicking, back kicking, etc. However, I prefer the SlipStreams due to the reasons stated above. Make sure to get the spring heel straps, they are comfortable and make getting fins on/off easy.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
While not the world's most comfortable pair of fins, they provide more thrust than any pair of fins I have owned. I like knowing I can kick my way out of a strong current if I have to. Some of the newer split fins on the market are very comfortable, but just can't keep up with this classic design. Quite powerful.

Comments about OMS Oms Monoprene Slipstream Fins:
Was looking for a set of turtle fins to fit my hard sole boots when I came across the slipstream. I tried a set on and fell in love the first instant. They are about half the weight, and stiffer in my opinion. I liked them so much I bought my wife a pair.

These fins are the answer to the "heavier cousin" of the same design. The fins simply rock.
