The Mares Avanti X3 is the perfect combination of comfort and power for recreational divers and snorkelers. The mid-sized blade has three channels for optimal movement. The fin blade is made of Tecraclene: blade with three channels for optimizing water flow, the center channel is inverted to make better use of the glide stroke. The upper and lower stabilizers help maximize muscle energy conversion. Tecraclene ribs in the foot pocket afford an improved fit and permit more efficient transmission of the kicking action. The range of sizes is complete, from XS to XL size to better accommodate all requirements, including those of women and younger divers. The straps feature the ABS system for single-handed adjustment. The Mares Avanti X3 is a successful marriage of comfort and power.

These fins are just plain bulky. I'm a big guy and it takes some *umph* to get these fins going. They have little to no flex, are too big for my dive bag, and have not loosened up even after 2 yrs of diving with them.

The only draw back is that the clips are a little tight to pull initially. They get easier with time. Other than that they are great!

I have a size 12 foot, and I bought the XL fins... I also purchased the Blue Reef 5mm zippered boot (1 size smaller), and the fit is perfect!!!

great set of entry level fins. I got the regular and wear a size 10 and the straps are tightened all the way. So they run a little big. other then that no complants here

This is the best fin i have ever used. It propels you great with little effort. I use this fin for all my free diving whether I'm diving conch, lobster or shooting fish. It works GREAT!

I love them. They are easy to put on and take off. I didn't realize the first time using them that the buckles open on the sides making life a lot more easier. I have two sets, one for home and one set at my office for quick trips.

Used on 8 dives and they seem to work very well. They are able to produce a lot of thrust with very little energy. I wear a size 10 shoe and wore these with a 3mm boot and tightened the straps almost all the way, I got a medium size fin, maybe a small would of been better.

A fantastic value at the current price. True-to-size for me, ordering based on my boot size. I like the buckle snap extension feature that allow you to don and doff (easily on deck or underwater) without changing your strap adjustment.

Overall, these are good medium priced fins. While I like the effort to include a quick release system with these fins, I found them a little difficult to release when you want to get them off. The finger hold to release them is just a little too small and short. After you nearly tear your findernail off trying to get them released, you are a lot more careful about getting your finger just right into the relase before you give it a pull.

I ordered a bit big to ensure my feet would fit with booties on. I shouldn't have bothered as their sizing apparently takes that into consideration. They are adjustable enough that I was able to tighten things up.

I wear a 8.5 and have a soft 3mm pair of soft sole booties, so I opted for the Small. I should have gone with the extra small, but I think I will upgrade my booties and get a pair of hard sole booties this should give me a snugger fit.

Great product loved the ease in the currents and drifts with this fins. But watch the sizing!

I wear a softer soled boot and the sizing was way off for them. Maybe if I wore a hard sole boot it would be more accurate. I wear a size 9.5 so I ordered the "regular" when a small would probably fit just right. I do like the fins so much that I will either get a smaller size, or change boots.

I bought these for my 13 year old son for his first pair of "real" fins. This is a great fin for the price. They have the same buckles as my Mares Volo fins. I'm seriously considering buying a second pair for myself to use as backups (and spare straps).

This is a small fin, but if you have small feet womens 5 1/2 or smaller it's not small enough. However this is an affordiable fin and it has a very soft rubber around the ankle area that is easily trimed back up to 2 1/2 inches if needed with an exacto or razor blade for propper ankle and heel fit.

Fins worked well for the cost. Moved smoothly through the water with minimal effort. These are the first dive fins I have used. Decided to try diving after loving snorkeling. Found the fins to work just as well as my full foot warm water fins.

My second pair - Not bad for the money. Pin popped out of side locking tab, but still work well. Easy one handed locking which I need when leaving shore with spear gear.

Would recommend this fin to anyone. I have a set and my wife has a set as well. The easy entry and exit via the latch system is the best. Very easy to put on in a dive boat and easy to take off in the water. Just the best.

Fins were easy to adjust and get in and out of. They were comfortable on the boat and in the water. Easy to control and plenty of power. Used a high priced split fin for my SCUBA training and this fin beat those hands down! The snap on the strap was not very easy to use but I normally just slip the strap off my heal so that wasn't a big deal.
