My family has a couple of pairs of these fins. My daughter outgrew hers so I bought these, the next size up. Fit and function as expected. Used for snorkeling and tropical diving. Great fin for the price.

I've been playing underwater hockey for about a year, and I had an old pair of fins that were starting to break, so I decided to get new ones. After some research and testing, based on opinions of national players, I decided to get the HPs. These are top notch fins. Amazing maneuverability, efficient, and still provide lots of power, though not as much as the Quattros. They are also very very comfortable, without socks. I recommend getting a size smaller. They suit a quick and agile style of play, and cater to both weaker and stronger legs.

This is a great fin for Underwater Hockey. I have been playing for 2 years now and just switched to the HP's. They fit well on the foot, are comfortable and allow maneuverability. Not as powerful as Quattro's. Great for women.

I bought these for underwater hockey and they work great, very comfortable. They seem to be designed with wearing a boot or neoprene sock, I wear a size 10.5 mens shoe, but the 8-9 size of these fit me perfectly without anything on my feet. A great alternative to the Quattros if you want a more efficient fin, at the expense of a little thrust. Plus who can complain about the price!

Hi, The Mares HP model has been around for along time. I have had my pair fora little over 9 years. I like the full foot, since it is very easy to slip on and go. If you drift dive and free dive, you will really like these fins.

I bought these fins b/c I lost my old pair. I haven't ever had a full foot fin but I really liked these. I used them for diving and snorkeling while on vacation. They were comfortable especially while in the water. Good thrust from the fins with little effort.

I snorkel. Last trip to St. Lucia was on boat with a scuba dive, many had the same fins as me (these) They are slightly snug around toes on dry land, but in water you can hardly feel them. Good power, easy to use...

I wear a US Men's 10.5 Shoe (44-45 European). I wear a 6.5-7.5 (40-41) HP. Rubber foot pockets are elastic, folks, and you will get much better performance from a pair of fins if you get them in a size smaller than your comfortable tennis shoes. Less flop between the foot pocket and your skin means more of your effort is realized as thrust at the fin blade. I recommend going down AT LEAST one full size from your shoe size (I wore 8-9 HPs for a long time before finally switching to the 6.5-7.5). I suggest avoiding neoprene booties with these fins unless you need them for warmth. If you have blister problems, try wearing a thin polyester sock (just your standard men's dress sock will work - nothing fancy) between the fin and your foot. If you wear the same pair of fins often enough, your feet will eventually toughen up in the places where you're getting blisters and the problem will go away.

The HP is a great all-around fin. It's not as stiff and powerful as a free-diving fin, but with proper kicking form, they are more than adequate for the vast majority of underwater activities. I have used them for snorkeling, free-diving and underwater hockey, and I wouldn't hesitate to SCUBA in them if I ever strap on a tank again. Durabilty is great, as they don't have any fancy bells and whistles that can break. Mine typically crack between the blade and the side-rails eventually (after more than a year of aggressive use 2-3 times per week). The foot pockets will stretch a bit over the years too...

I've tried split fins, and I haven't been that impressed. I keep wishing for my Avanti's. So I purchased this pair because I don't like having to take boots when I go diving in hot places.

I have only used a few differnt kinds of fins - mostly cheap knock-offs.. this is the first nice pair of fins i've bought and used... and i'm impressed. I can move quickly and comfortably. And the price was GREAT!
