Brand: Cressi
Located in: Essential Equipment, Fins
The Gara 200 HF is the first fin in the world made by combining three different materials, a process that Cressi perfected and patented with this fin. This process guarantees unsurpassed performance. The blade is made from a special reactive polypropylene, which is extremely light, and has a blade snap that progressively charges up during the fining stride to react like a spring at the exact moment the stride is inverted. This development in fin construction gives the diver increased thrust required to keep up with their prey. A soft elastomer foot pocket anatomically wraps around the foot, surrounding it with a comfortable bite that guaranteesperfect transmission of the leg-fin thrust. A solid copolymer hardens some critical zones of the foot pocket, and is extended along the sides in two lateral stringers, that go halfway along the blade. The function of these stringers, which are assisted by special raised bands on the bottom of the blade, is to regulate and harmonize the bending of the blade, at the same time protecting it from shocks and abrasions. The fins are extraordinarily lightweight compared to equivalent models of rubber full foot fins and reduces the inertial masses to the minimum. This gives the full advantage of the effort-efficiency ratio. This fin is designed for deep skin-diving, although some Scuba professionals and instructors appreciate its efficiency also.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Gara 2000 HF Full Foot Fins, Black:

this fins are to be used for what they are for, love the dual purpose for free dive and scuba, great for currents, light weight and responsive, some people think they are too long,of course when i go caving or wreck or cold dives i use my oms slipstream, just came back from Italy and Mexico, and they just worked great, if you want an all purpose fin, then this is not for you

Wonderful power! Not difficult to get used to using; but definitely one should practice with them before any long use to train your foot to take the extra power load. Great for Free-diving and spearfishing.

These fins work really well for spearfishing and freedivng. They can hold their own when the water is rough but they also do a great job for drifting along in clam water. The only thing i did to alter them was that i camoed them.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Gara 2000 HF Full Foot Fins, Black:

This fin is slightly stiffer than the 3000 model, and in my oppinion is the absolute best value for a long blade fin out there. I wear a size 10 1/2 or 11 in most shoes and made the mistake of ordering that size of fin, as some reviewers claimed the fins ran big. However, I would recommend getting a size larger than what you wear in a shoe. This will allow you to wear a 3mm neoprene sock with the fin without it being too tight of a fit. Highly recommended.

Great product [...] Well this item would be something similar to strapping two rockets to your legs. Gives you a lot of propulsion each kick. It is great for a free diver because it allows you to cover the most ground with the least effort.

I'm a serious spearfisherman - tank & free dive and these are great combo fins. I prefer the stiffer 2000H model over the 3000H as they are more responsive in heavy current when you're trying to track down a big fish. These are my third pair and for the money they just can't be beat.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Gara 2000 HF Full Foot Fins, Black:

Good fin for the moderately fit beginner freediver/snorkeller/spearfisher. Considered Cressi 3000 which would have been too soft. Somewhat narrow foot pocket. Worn with lycra sock, no pressure points during pool use. Normally wear size 11-12 shoes, ordered fin in size 10/11, fits well/snug. 3mm booties may make them too tight. These things are like strapping rockets to your legs!

This is an excellent fin for scuba or spearfishing. I had the expensive Apollo Bio Fins and they seem like jelly compared to these. This is a stiff efficient fin that will maximize your bottom time. It can be cumbersome at first but you will never get tired in a current. Foot pocket is soft and comfortable. Give them a shot.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Gara 2000 HF Full Foot Fins, Black:

I use these fins for freediving and spearfishing, they are really effortless to kick. I live in miami and the weather is horrible at times, with 4 foot waves, and i can kick through the waves like nothing when i'm swimming back to my boat. I use to use them for diving also but my kicks were too strong and I would leave my dive buddy in the back, so I now use Mares Volo Power(very nice fins). The only thing that bothers me with the fins are that they are a little narrow for me feet. I have extremely wide and flat feet but if you don't use a sock then it will be fine.

I bought my first GARA's 25 years ago and used them the day before I received my shipment. I just wanted a new pair and since I had ordered a new scuba outfit from Leisure Pro I had them ride along with the other equipment.

Very, very happy.

Service & Delivery comments:

Leisure Pro is the best. I ordered the wrong size (my mistake)and they exchanged it with no problems at all. First Class organization, quick shipping, great communication. I will definitely buy from these guys again. I recommended LP to my friends and family and I only do this when everything is top-notch.

Have only used free diving but intend on using for scuba next chance I get. Love the power. I wear a shoe size of 9 1/2 and I ordered a 8-9. They are a little loose around the ankles and gave me a rash. Nothing a pair of dive socks wont cure. I have spent many years snorkling and diving. Sorry I didnt purchase sooner

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Gara 2000 HF Full Foot Fins, Black:

Great classic Long fin - I typically wear a size 10 sneaker, or a 9-1/2 dress shoe. I bought the 8-9 size Gara to wear with no socks or booties.

I scuba and snorkel with them. They have so much power with one kick you can glide around fairly effortlessly - I feel more balanced diving with these in scuba. I would only recommend scuba diving with these in warm water with little weight in a open water situation.

Downsides are that they are very big and you have to be careful not to hit things, plus if you have weak legs/feet your going to cramp like crazy.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Gara 2000 HF Full Foot Fins, Black:

These fins are very good for casual freediving. I like to float along, and occassionally make deep dives. Being old, fat, and out of shape, I thought I'd be happy if I hit 50' while diving in the Caribbean recently. To my surprise, I hit 70' without much difficulty. These fins aren't what you'd use to power along so much as to dolphin kick gracefully. They actually seemed to propel me more slowly at first, but I think it is due to their efficiency that I felt this way. My buddy couldn't keep up as well. He tried them and referenced uncomfortable torque on his ankles. I had no such discomfort. I wouldn't mind if they had a little bit more stiffness and perhaps a bit of channel technology (like a Mares fin). Overall, I was very happy using them daily for the past week- no blisters on wearing them with no booties.
