Brand: Cressi

The Cressi Frog Fin has been a classic in the Cressi range for many years and has a huge following from divers in every corner of the planet. The fin is skillfully made with a combination of a strong copolymer and a soft elastomer. This Composite design delivers efficiency when kicking and exceptional comfort.

The blade originates from the upper part of the foot pocket, with a 20% increasein useful surface area compared to a traditional fin of the same length. A pair of medium-large Frog fins is about 8.5 inches wide by 25 inches long and is made of a Copolymer called ethylene-vinyl-acetate. Ethylene-vinyl-acetate is a state of the art plastic that has good memory. The materials memory allows the fin to snap back into its original position or anglewithout "going flat". This creates a comfortable gentle kicking fin that delivers nice power, without inducing leg cramps.

Running nearly the fins outside blade length are raised, rubber-like ridges. A pair of smaller ribs runs down the fin's center. These stiff ribs channel water onto the fins blade. As water streams down the leg, it continues in a smooth transition across the length of the fin. There is no water hydroplaning or skidding on either the up or down stroke. No hydroplaning means better power andcontrol for the diver. Each kick's up and down stroke are power movements and drag is minimized.

The Frog's innovative computer designed foot-pocket further aids control and comfort. The pocket's top edge is lined with comfortably soft, curved, rubber-like techno-plastic. Its bottom portion extends back about four inches, giving support under all or most of your foot. When your foot is supported, moreof the power from your leg and foot is transferred to the kick.

The Frog is heavier Cressi model. A Heavier fin is more durable and useful for the working diver or instructors who demand strength and comfort. The Cressi Frog also works well when wearing a dry suit or thick cold water wet suit, very popular also in diving schools and excellent for rentals.

It is easy to walk backwards or sideways in Frogs. Small bar-like treads on the bottom provide traction when standing on a slippery surface. The impact resistant plastic quick-release buckles are easy to operate, even with gloves; buckles have a sleek finish and reliably locking mechanism to lock the strap in place. They buckles rotate an impressive 300 degrees, so no matter how high yourarch or how high your heel strap is worn, the buckle rotates for a non-crimped, perfect fit.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Open Heel Frog Fins:

The clips for this fin are a poor design. Most fins are very difficult to get the clip off of the actual fin. While diving at Cozumel we have lost two fin straps (including the clip assembly) The fins seem heavy compared to other brands that were actually a larger size. Very disappointed. We will look for another brand- perhaps Tusa or Aqualung. BTW, fin straps with clips cost over $20 US in Cozumel. argh... I suppose we might have got a poorly manufactured fin, but they are still very heavy.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Open Heel Frog Fins:

I got these for my Open Water and pool cert. classes, as an upgrade from my no name snorkeling fins, and as an alternative to my full-foot Mares. Difference is more than noticeable; very light, perfect response, little effort in kicking. Gave it a ding for being a little smaller than what I thought, but honestly that's probably more my boot choice than Cressi's fault. The offset blade makes doffing more manageable, too. All in all, there's probably better, but why pay all the extra $$ when the perfect performer can be found for under 50 bones? Get a pair as your main fin or as a dependable backup; doubt you'll regret it...!

Faster than normal delivery; can't beat the service.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Open Heel Frog Fins:

These are overall good fins, but after about 30 minutes they begin to take their toll on the tips of your toes. They feel as if they are a bit too small, I am size 13 EE wide shoe and I got the biggest size they had. Perhaps my big feet might be the problem. Well priced for what you get.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Open Heel Frog Fins:

So yeah, they don't look like all the other fins, but they do work. I bought them on a strong reccomendation, and now I reccomend them too. They are very powerful fins, the heel strap isn't great, but no standard heel strap seems to be. Buy a nice aftermarket heel strap and I don't think you can get a better fin, not even amongst the way more expoensive ones.
