I've used this for snorkeling and scuba diving during my open water padi classes. They put me in the back because I was so fast during the training dive. I feel if I kick like twice im passing everyone! Best thing about these is I dont even feel like I have them on!

I used these fins for both my free diving hunting and for scuba. I have noticed a big difference as to how much easier they are on my legs. The fins feel as if nothing is on your feet yet I have not lost any ability to get through the water.

I was a split fin skeptic until I tried these fins, and I was immediately blown away. I used to get calf and thigh cramps, where as now I can hardly tell there is anything attached to my feet. They have great propulsion with little effort, and the spring straps are awesome. I did a direct comparison with the Scubapro Twinjet Max, and found these to be less fatiguing. Can frog kick with them as well. They are expensive, but worth it!

At the beginning I was septic on what the people have to say about this product, but I tried them this morning. I was able to notice by my self that these fins reduce of many the fatigue in my legs besides offering a propulsion superior compare to conventional fins. I like them and I plan to buy another pair for my son.

Most everything about this fin is great, except that the fin pockets split apart after a couple months of diving. I've learned that this is a common problem, and have seen others doing the same thing.

Looks like a manufacturing defect to me. I purchased mine in 2009, and maybe this has been addressed, maybe not. Leisure Pro has always been great to deal with, and I assume they will properly honor the warranty, as Atomic does not since LP not an auth distributer.

I purchased these because of problems following ankle surgery. Should have stuck with Mares fins, which seem to last forever.

A must for strong current dives. I once suffered cramps and sore legs after a days dive. These Atomic fins are great, kick less and use little effort. Solid consruction. I love the stainless steel straps as they sit comfortably across the upper heel, auto adjust and secure the foot into place, easy on/off without clips or clasps to break.

Very efficient when used with a flutter-kick, which took a little acclimation. Once I stopped over-kicking, the advantage of the split fin became apparent.

Easy to grasp strap loop makes getting on/off easy, even with gloves.

These fins are great! Atomic makes quality products and this is no exception. They are a little pricey but well worth it with spring straps already included. Great buy. Just for reference I wear a size 12 dive boot and the XL size fits perfectly.

I'm truly impressed by these fins. The thrust from the fins are great, the spring makes putting the fins on very easy. By the way I'm 6'3 370lb size 14 ft. These fins help me keep up with my partner without effort, and even propel my pass they at will. I Luv them!!!

The springs and clips are not designed well. When you adjust the strength of the spring, you need a screw driver and not make a mistake in the reassemble of the clip; otherwise you will lose a dive. The clips are easily broken though it's mostly cosmetic and you can still use the fin, but you do worry about the strength of the clip. Save you money and don't buy the fins with springs.

I have bad knees and needed to upgrade. Every time I dove with my other fins I would have intense pain for the next couple days. With the "Smoke on the Water" fins I am fine. They also have great thrust. I don't kick very hard and it is still difficult for my dive buddy to keep up with me. The straps also make them very easy to put on. I would buy another pair in a heart beat.

These fins are light years ahead of my old fins. More comfort, less stress on the legs, easier to use all around, yet able to apply power when needed. Overall these fins were great.

With less than 1 1/2 years after a total knee replacement, I needed a fin that was lightweight and efficient which would not cause fatigue on my knee. These fins were fantastic. I did a 2 tank dive the first day and had zero fatigue with all the power I needed. At age 60 I don't plan to give up diving anytime soon and these just added another dimension to my diving. I bought a pair for my wife so she could keep up. She loves her's too.

I switched over from regular Mares fins. Really noticed the difference in speed. There is a little difference in control that you might notice on tight swim throughs or wreck penetration

These are by far the best fins I have ever used, although they are the only split fin I have tried.

Found them good for thrust and turning. I don't have the weight, but they did feel heavier than most fins I have owned or tried.

Spring straps are great too. Nothing bad to say about these fins.

These are great fins. I wear an 18 shoe and the Extra Large fins fit great, with or without boots. I finally got a chance to use them after winter and they are by far the best pair I've ever owned. If you are a bigger guy and need a bigger fin, these are the ones for you. I searched and searched for a good fitting boot and fin and these fins fit the bill perfectly.

I am a BIG DIVER, over 300lbs. These fins let me get around without leg fatigue. I can't wait to get back down to around 250lbs to see just what kind of speed I can get out of them then. They are fast already and talk about being able to manuver around easier, these fins are great! If you want a really great pair of fins....get these!

I am 54 years old and have been using "regular" fins since I was certified 9 years ago. I just returned from 2 weeks in Hawaii using my new Smoke on the Water fins. They are so much easier to use, and the strain on my legs was greatly reduced. I found my bottom time increased as well. This is the best money I ever spent on SCUBA equipment.

I have owned "regular" fins for 15 years before my research lead me to these. Efficiency from split fin design is gained by using shorter kick strokes within the diver's wake profile. Less effort for the same speed means less air is used and more bottom time.

These fins offer at least two other distint advantages: Spring tension strap allows for quick and secure donning & removal. The 2nd advantage is that the fins float even in fresh water. Both features are a real plus for divers of all experience levels.
These fins are a little wider than some fins making them just a little harder to pack on trips.

Their overall design, quality and performance represent the state-of-the-art of fin technology in my opinion, and will provide you with years of dependable service. My wife also owns a pair these fins.

These fins are awesome. I have had my Twin Jets for years, until my wife tried them on. That gave me an excuse to buy new ones. I tried a friends fins and had to get them. I like these more than my old ones! I find any excuse to use them and get in the water! I highly recommend them for shore or boat diving.

I spent 4 hours meandering through a reef in Hawaii, and had no leg fatigue whatsoever. The heel structure took a while to adjust but is the best I have had on - boots or not. The only flaw (minor one) was I found them a tad narrow - otherwise they are amazing. Fantastic speed.
