I have dove with a lot of different fins and these have got to be the most efficient I have ever used. A friend of mine has them and I just tried them for the first time today. I was so amazed at how easy it was to skindive to depths of 15ft+ and still have energy and air to stay down and see what cannot be easily/clearly seen from the surface. I was actually so quick with these underwater, I did not even realize how quickly I had swam away from the shore, no problem, they do not tire the legs at all and I was able to swim back with just as much speed.
I ran home tonight and got on the internet to order my own pair (this site is the cheapest I found them). I assure you if you ever have the chance to try these, you will do the same. My only regret is spending money on other fins, when I should have got these 2 years ago when I first met the friend with these fins. BTW, his fins are more than 2 years old, have been almost around the world and still look brand new. These are durable fins!
These fins allow for increased speed and manuverability with less effort. I particularly like the 20 degree down-angle which places the foot at the ideal angle for efficiency. With routine treatment using silicone spray or grease, these fins should last nearly forever.
I needed new fins to fit the boots on my new dry suit (DUI CF200 with #9 Rock Boots). The large Bio-Fin Pro fits over the Rock Boots and also works with a smaller slip-on shoe that DUI gave me in the mean time because their Rock Boots are out of stock.
I dove the new suit and fins last weekend for the first time and swimming was pretty good. Much better than with the large paddle fins I used to use with my 30 year-old Unisuit (which I haven't used in 15 years, mostly because of the poor swimming characteristics). Normally, I dive a 1/4" wetsuit and wear large (9-10) full foot fins with 1/8" socks. The downside, of course, is the cold here in New England. My goal with the new gear is to move into the current century and have the best of both worlds: warmth and good swimming characteristics.
I'm still not sure how I feel about split fins. I don't understand why nobody makes single blade fins to fit drysuit boots that are smaller (and with the right shape and flex), making it easier to maneuver and to kick fast when you need speed. In any event, the Bio-Fins are the best thing I have found so far.
I spent a lot of time not moving my legs because when I did I would pass all my dive buddies and have to go back. Felt like I didn't have anything on my feet but with the slightest kick I would take off. Great Control.
Better than Scubapro Twinjets as they're narrower and faster. These save me 10 minutes bottom time compared to conventional fins. You never feel the fins on your feet. I wear a 13 boot, and the fin accepts both my 3mm and my large soled 5mm with ease. Go with the XL if you wear 13's. I've had mine for years and they are my #1 fin. This site's price is very good. They're worth every penny. Just remember to refrain from over-kicking the fin.
once I figured the kick...well, i am Aqua-Man!
really fast, with little effort. great acceleration.
thought the width was just a bit roomy, but with my boots, it was still comfortable.
These are the most efficient fins I have ever experienced. You can not feel them on your feet, and you move with amazing speed and ease
Its the Rubber!
Excellent product, eliminates the appearance of cramps and work well even in strong current!
I recommend to all!!!
Nice fins just a little hard to take off with my size 13 feet.
Nice Flippers
Best fins I've ever used. Tons of thust with little effort.
Open water, both reef, wreck and drift
This is my 2nd pair of Apollo Bio-Fin, I alternate between the blue and the black set. I like the fin and snorkel/scuba so often I don't want to be without my favorite fins. They are heavy out of the water, but I do not notice the weight at all in the water. I generally snorkel twice a week for at least an hour or more - that's a lot of leg kicks. For me this is an excellent fin.
These fins are great. When I got in the water and started swimming around, it almost felt like I wasn't wearing fins (compared to my old ones) and with just a few kicks I went flying past the rest of the divers. I spent almost 2 hours in the water and my legs never even got tired.
THE BEST FINS I HAVE EVER WORN IN THE WATER! SWIM LIKE LIGHTNING WITH NO EFFORT AT ALL!
Great Fin, requires minimal effort even as a beginner. I used for my certification and open water dives and it was a good experience.
Very nice fins
I love these fins. I ordered the PINK ones and they are very unique. I have gotten many compliments from fellow female divers on the color alone. These fins are very flexible and I feel like I zoom through the water with them on with minimal effort. They are very relaxing to swim with. I feel like I get at least twice the distance per kick as opposed to typical dive fins. For me, they are a great investment for the price. They are made well and rugged and I am sure will stand up to years of use (and occasional abuse I'm sure).
I LOVE Leisure pro and I will NEVER shop elsewhere for dive equipment again. They ship items out immediately and it seems like it takes no time at all for them to arrive. Items have always arrived securely packaged. It couldn't be easier to make an exchange. Just call and they send a new one out right away. They have GREAT customer service and I truly have no complaints. I would recommend this company to my best friend, and have!
I am a size 12 and bought a large. there is enough room for your booties. No stores in my city carried these fins so I was worried about what size to get. Large would fit probably a size 10-12 and probably a 9 and a 13 to but i think you would be on the fine line of another size bigger or smaller with those sizes

These are great fins. Best fins I have worn. The are very flexible so when you are on the bottom and want to kneel down you don't need to worry about digging your fins into the sand/mud and stirring up too much. Also makes it easy to sit on the bottom. As for their speed, once you have learned how to kick with them you can outrun anyone using non-split fins. Great fins, very comfortable, and they will get you where your going on time!

My first fins were a pair of Cressi-Sub Rondine A Open Heels that worked great, but my new split fins are amazing. My knees and ankles tend to bother me while diving, but I had no problems when wearing the Bio fins. I can easily keep up with any group of divers regardless of the current. The foot pocket fits great with my 5 mm boots and there are no foot cramps. They are a little bit on the heavy side for travel, but well worth the extra effort.

I am an older diver, nearly 60, and I am always looking for an edge in the water. I purchased and used the Bio Fins on a recent trip to Ft Lauderdale. I took two courses, wreck, search & recovery, it took 8 dives to complete both courses. Alot of diving and it all went great. I never got tired or cramped.

I leave everyone else behind with these fins. A couple of my dive buddies have purchased these just so they can keep up with me. The fatigue level is way lower than other fins. You will not regret buying these fins.
Yes Very!

These are the king of split-fins when researching on the internet and after biting the bullet, they are definitely worth the money. Having recently injured my knee and finding that swimming with paddle fins now puts undue strain on my knee, I was looking for options other than giving up snorkeling/scuba. The split-fin design definitely provides less resistance yet does not seem to be lacking at all in thrust. Even in strong current the fins work well. Some folks complain that the "feel" of thrust is lost when using these somewhat floppy rubber fins but you are certainly not falling behind your buddies and to me, the kick is now much more natural feeling. The only 2 complaints I have are 1) the travel weight of these, being twice the weight of my usual fins, only noticeable when schlepping through the airport or on a hike down to a remote beach 2) the fin straps work fine but are a bit long with my shoe size, so I would recommend the springs. If comfort is your main priority, I can't see how you would be disappointed with these. I notice little to no performance loss nor any directional ability with the rubber compound.

Super easy on you legs. However, in current you just don't have as much power as other fins, but great all-around fin!

I have used my apollo's on several dives and while snorkeling. They feel weightless, are easy to put on and take off. I have a high instep and the softer rubber and roomy space for my booties make for no squeeze, no discomfort during the entire dive. I love them!

WOW, great fins! The most comfortable I have ever used.

Excellent fins. Before these I had a pair of scuba pro split fins. The scuba pro's never gave me enough thrust. I finally gave up on them when I found myself fighting against the current off Key-Largo. I sold them and bought the Apollos and have been thrilled with the Apollo's ever since. They are really comfortable and easy to kick but they can give you the performance you need. Overall a great balance.

These fins are everything they are claimed to be — and then some! They are extremely efficient which means an end to calf cramping, sore knees, and burning out trying to fight a current.
There are only two negatives: 1) Many experienced divers initially feel the fins are not "working" because they move so easily through the water. This perception goes away once they measure speed & SAC rates to find they are moving faster than with any other fin — and using less air! 2) Split fins are inappropriate for cave-diving as it's difficult to hover stationary (You will tend to move forward.) and almost impossible to fin backwards.
These are the best fins for beginners and advanced openwater divers alike, whether snorkeling or scuba-diving. Buy a pair!
Spring straps are an excellent addition, whether Apollo's or after-market. You'll never again fight with buckles or broken straps.
Delivery was fast & convenient. Leisurepro is a joy to do business with!
These fins make swimming 250 yards from shore in full scuba gear a breeze. The best fins for beach divers. They move you fast both on the surface and underwater. The only drawback to the fins is you can't stop on a dime or sit still in current. So taking photos sometimes can be difficult, but for the comfort of using these fins, less leg cramps and fatigue, I'll never go back to the standard flat board type fins.
The best open heel I ever worn. I bougth for my wife, but I use it when she is not watching. When my jet-fins die I will buy my own.

Great maneuverability - small flips and you move. Saves energy in strong currents.
Great for "big foot" guys.
Tried both full foot and open models, the open model is great although a bit heavy for travel, I couldn't use the full foot model, got blister and gave the fin away.
A nice fin. No leg fatigue or cramps with this fin. Great pupulsion in most cases. A little weak when I have to face a really strong current.
When it comes to purchases want the best product at the best price. These fins did just that!
I never have to think about them. They feel and work great.
I have ankle problems and have purchased many fins trying to find one that doesn't hender my dive as far as pain in my ankles. With these fins I am comfortable and still have the power to maneuver, even in currents.
The fins have been excellent, although slightly large and heavy. Easy to put them on and take them off.
These fins will surprize you. You'll think your not going any place but all at once you'll notice yourself zooming along. Leg cramps almost nell where as before I had them alot with other fins. Great for not stiring up silt in overhead enviroments. Feels like your not wearing fins. The best fins I had in 30 years of diving.
Great pair of fins. I have been diving with some die hards who bock at split fins but I think after they have seen the performance they may have a different view. Great fins and have eliminated the leg cramps I use to experience. Highly recommended
These fins are really good. These are the best fins I ever use, and i'm now curious about the new series that are made of harder rubber.
This Apollo fins is work very well for me . All my friend very liked
I had borrowed these from a friend on a dive trip- the entire trip I'd been having to push to keep up with the other (younger, impatient) divers. With these, I could amble along and keep up. Could even stop and look for a bit and catch back up. I immediately ordered a pair!
I had a 25 year old pair of 707s - great fins but too hard on my knees anymore- I wasnt sure the split fins would help and be as powerfuland I wasnt sure which split to go with.... I am really happy withthese bio fins I just got back from st croix - my knees never hurt....and i could go all day with these fins.... power was way better than my 707s [...]
For years they were rated no.1. Extremely comfortable, powerful, and long lasting. The only split fin I would use now and in the long run. Anybody who buys these fins is no doubt getting their moneys worth and then some. They are the best split fin out their.......hands down.
I have had a pair for seven years and would not trade them for any other fins.
Good Fin. But when you are loaded with lots of gear and encounter a current you are going to have to expend a lot of energy. If you are a more experienced diver or strong swimmer consider the stiffer bio-fin. It is a good product, just wish I got the stiffer compound.
