Comments about Suunto Suunto D4 Wrist Computer:
I bought the D4 as a replacement for my Mosquito. The D4 is a bit easier to use than the Mosquito. The Mosquito has 4 headings in the Mode menu: Time, Air, Set, Mem, while the D4 has Time, Dive, Mem. The submenus are the same for both watches, but I prefer the Set as a submenu of Time.
The D4 is somewhat larger and the numbers are also bigger. Both are readable but I much prefer the smaller numbers of the Mosquito because of the contrast between the numbers and the background. The image on the Leisure Pro site is an accurate reflection of how the display looks so judge for yourself. Just on the basis of this, I would not recommend the D4.
The battery of the D4 needs to be replaced by a technician. This may not be a hassle, but I really enjoyed being able to replace the battery in the Mosquito.
In my tests, the D4 and Mosquito use identical algorithms for diving on air. I have not tested the Nitrox setting.
I highly recommend the Digital Online class that is offered with the D4. This class is a very nice way to get acquainted with the D4.

Comments about Suunto Suunto D4 Wrist Computer:
Upgraded from a Suunto Mosquito and used for a week in the Caymans. Worked flawlessly, easier to use and read than the Mosquito. Also wore as a watch for the week.

Comments about Suunto Suunto D4 Wrist Computer:
Bought this to replace my mosquito that I had for years, and I am still trying to figure out what button to hit when. Not so much a con. I guess I expected it to be very similar to the mosquito, and while it is, there is still plenty new features to play with.
So far its been good, but I am not so sure what to do when the batteries die. The best feature of the old model was that you could change it yourself.

Comments about Suunto Suunto D4 Wrist Computer:
My first computer was a Suunto Mosquito and that was a great computer... easy to use, reliable, a conservative profile...
The D4 takes Suunto reliability and quality a notch further with an amazingly-simple-to-use-and-read computer that works great!
Essential info is clearly read on the dot-matrix, backlit screen (unlike the Mosquito's number-segment system)... the few miliseconds you save analyzing your dive data makes for an efficient piece of kit that tells you what you need to know without having to spend time deciphering archaic info...
The graphic dive profile screen is an amazing toy as well... LOVE IT.
I would like to see it compute for AVERAGE depth as well (since all my dives are multi-level) but otherwise an amazing dive computer... what else do you need indeed

Comments about Suunto Suunto D4 Wrist Computer:
This is the first computer that i had purchased and I still love it. For the time being i use it as a backup. I have a console with max depth and air pressure and a Suunto Vyper computer. I also wear a compass on my right wrist (D4 on my left wrist). I fins my self using the D4 and the compass on my wrists WAY more than the stuff in my console but i'm glad that i have them there as a backup.
Moral of the story, D4 is easy to use, Accurate enough for all but tech diving, PERFECT for a backup and even as a primary with analogue gauges as backups.
I Love SCUBA!

Comments about Suunto Suunto D4 Wrist Computer:
I have experience with the Suunto Mosquito and purchased the D4 as a third recreational Dive computer in the family. The controls and readout have been improved. The watch is actually fairly fashionable given today's watches. Not a critical buying consideration, but if you're considering using this as a watch in addition to a Dive computer it fits the bill. Not excited about factory battery replacement, but I'll deal with it.

Comments about Suunto Suunto D4 Wrist Computer:
i was choosing between this and the d6 and im glad i stuck with the d4.
it gives the same amount of data as the d6 ( without that useless compass) and uses the same software.
although it is regarded as the lower end of suunto dive computers, its make and rugged finish is perfect for the recreational diver.
ive taken this baby on wrecks dives at 120 feet and i really like it conservative profile.

Comments about Suunto Suunto D4 Wrist Computer:
I bought a wrist computer for its versatility in use and this is a great purchase. Been wearing the watch for the past month almost daily. It is simple elegant (at least in black) and very reliable with big letters easy to read.
I regret not have bought the USB cable though, especially because there are good package deals around.
