Wisdom: The Computer Powerhouse that's Easy to Use.

Wisdom is the most powerful dive computer offered to date-with an intuitive display that makes it simple to use.
This air-integrated beauty gives you full-function air and nitrox capabilities and is the answer to safer more enjoyable diving for new divers and pros alike.

Wisdom lets you know just where you stand.
Measuring dive time, depth and air supply, it uses a reliable, time-proven algorithm to calculate and display remaining dive time based on established limits for nitrogen tension, oxygen exposure or cylinder pressure. It is exceptionally dependable.
Wisdom gives you unprecedented options - seven in all - for setting reminders/alarms for depth limits, decompression status, oxygen status (PO2), ascent rate and remaining breathing time. This is in addition to alarms already in the computer. It is exceptionally convenient.

Logically intutive, it features a large, HydroGlow screen with big numerals. It is exceptionally easy to read.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG4105 Wisdom Dive Computer with Compass:

I tried to use this model on over 100 dives. When I would dive at altitude it would go bonkers as described by others. It would think I was underwater after I surfaced and think I was still diving. While diving it had the depth wrong. Finally, it would lock up and I would lose my dive history. Twice it just locked up without going thru the other steps. I sent it back 3 times and the last time I just put the new one away. I pulled it out 2 years later while my replacement computer was in the shop, dove with it at sea level and it didn't register air pressure and sometimes the depth readings were okay and sometimes they were off. A number or people looked at it and couldn't find anything that could be causing the problem. Every time I used it after it died the first time, I had to dive with a backup computer just in case (and I am glad I did).

Too bad. I liked the design, the size of the digits, the air integration, the quick disconnect and much more.

Maybe they have gotten better in the last 2 years. I tried to use it every time it wasn't in the shop from the time it was introduced until I finally bought another air integrated computer the last time it was in the shop. I dove with three of them back to back with no luck (about 2 years?) and then shelved the last one. Maybe they just don't work well with altitude diving and if you only dive with them at sea level you will be ok (doesn't explain the last problem at sea level).

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG4105 Wisdom Dive Computer with Compass:

After one year and 100 dives I realy like the unit. Easy to use and see. I would question its reliabilty as the main button just fell out. Its in for warranty work but should not have happen. My dive partner had two units flood and my first instructor went through several units. I will not buy another even though I like the unit. Next one will be a none air intrigrated puck. Don't realy need air intregrated for none technical dives.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG4105 Wisdom Dive Computer with Compass:

I purchased two of these dive computers. One for me and one for my wife. On the second dive mine went haywire. Alarms went off as the computer said I was over 100 feet deep. I thought to myself wow what a cool divemaster he took us on a deep dive. Then it started warning me that I was getting short of air.Thats when I got a bit nervous. The divemaster and my wife's instruments were at 42 feet deep. This unit was defective. My wife's unit was fine.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG4105 Wisdom Dive Computer with Compass:

My wife and I each have had our computers for 2 years. These things are great - easy to read, easy to operate, easy to maintain, easy to set up alarms, easy to change batteries, etc. Read the manual! The alarms are are easy to hear and are a useful feature. One of the units failed after around 15 dives and was quickly replaced under warrantee (one of the conrol buttons failed making the unit nearly unusable). The dive log for downloading seems a little quirky on one of the units - restarted the dive count so there are 2 sets of dives showing the same dive number now. If I were diving in remote locations, I would carry a mechanical gage set as a backup.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG4105 Wisdom Dive Computer with Compass:

So far i've only used the Wisdom on 4 dives. At first the funtions all seemed very intimidating. With the first dive, the computer just took over and logged everything on its own. I still recommend reading the owner's manual through once or twice... It will make more sense later. The manual could be revised to be easier to understand. Maybe Sherwood could come out with a "Dive Computers for Dummies" book. Someday I hope to understand all the funtions. Right now I've figuered out everything I need anyway.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG4105 Wisdom Dive Computer with Compass:

I have had this computer for 4 years with only one minor issue (backlight). Otherwise this computer has been solid and an excellent companion as it has everything a recreational diver could need in a neat package.
There is minor cosmetic differences between the older and newer model, so spare yourself the money and go with the older model.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG4105 Wisdom Dive Computer with Compass:

This is the most awesome computer ever. It's so easy to use once you read the manual once over. There is not a bad thing that I could say about this computer. The quick disconnect makes it easy to travel with, especially if you want to take it off and put it in a safe place. I've also found that the compass is very accurate. I normally wear 5mm gloves and its still very easy to operate under water. The audible alarms make diving so much easier. Overall, great product.

I've made over one hundred dives with this computer and love the large readout and ease of use. It has more bells and whistles than I actually need but sooner or later I'll use them all. A plus is that you can down load all your dives to your PC for your dive log. You need to carry your manual around with you for a while as it does have alot of bells and whistles.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG4105 Wisdom Dive Computer with Compass:

Although this computer has never failed me underwater on the ten dives I have used it, there is a major flaw in the battery cap. I was diving with friends in a remote area in the Philippines and when we surfaced, I should have removed the console via my quick-disconnect before handing the setup over to the boat captain! He lifted my BC etc over the hull and pulled it onto the deck. The computer smacked the side of the boat and that's all she wrote. Upon inspection, I noticed a crack in the battery cap on the back of the computer and my diving was over. Come to mention it, everyone else had rental gear with analog depth gauges that read 1/2 the depth that they were at (diferent story)and were relying on me to lead the way, so everyone's dive day was over. Needless to say, no dive shop has this simple piece that you're supposed to be able to change the battery yourself with; not in the Philippines and not in our next dive destination of Palau. I had to wait one month after returning for my local dive shop to special order the part.
In hindsight, all of this can be avoided if you buy the quick-disconnect and use it on every dive.

Blue-water!

I have put hundreds of dives on this computer. It held it's own in many different situations. From recreation dives, deep dives, night and low vis, to wreck and salvage dives. It flooded once but was being put under severe duress. It would definately be one I would consider again. The screen lights up very well at night and is very easy to read and navigate through.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG4105 Wisdom Dive Computer with Compass:

I logged six dives with the Sherwood Wisdom over the weekend and absolutely loved it. It has all the bells and whistles that most high-end computers have, but the biggest draw has to be the large display and a relatively small footprint. I could easily read my tank pressure during any dive at night or very bad visibility, and so could my dive buddy. Meanwhile, when my dive buddy's computer had small and cramped-together numbers that I could hardly make out or focus on under water, where information should be communicated clearly and efficiently. The Sherwood Wisdom did just that.
