I was very pleased with my Wisdom II, right up to the point where it went belly up on my after about 200 dives (< 2.5 years). A friend of mine has similar experience with his (died at about 200 dives). The Wisdom II exceeded all of my expectiations in terms of functionality and ease of use, but I would certainly expect it to last far longer than it did.
Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
Good computer. I have been diving with it for just about a year on 60 dives and it has been a good purchase thus far. Mechanically, it did have an air leak between the connection hose and the computer itself, but it was able to be fixed in the field and that has been the only problem so far. Easy to operate with only the two buttons. Nice large number format and changing between nitrox (and the subsequent NO2 setting) and regular ar is easy...once you have done it a few times.
Only complaint is that the nitrogen tissue loading
bar graphs on the side are not very intuitive.
However, on the plus side, the computer is generous in its algorythm, so you won't be the first person popping to the surface because of an extremely conservative no-deco profile. All in all, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend this computer.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
Was leaning towards the Oceanic Pro Plus II,but I caught this computer on sale. I wouldn't trade my computer for any other. The dive simulator is a cool function. The alarms are audible and visual. Very easy to set up. I cant comment on the data transfer as I didn't purchase cable yet. Buy it.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
If you have the Quick Disconnect, do not put this computer in a bucket of fresh water to soak unless it is pressurized. Also, do not put computer in water after changing out the battery unless you first pressurize the computer. Otherwise, the computer is toast, and the screens will freeze up. Sherwood will offer you to trade it in for a "great deal" on a new dive computer.
Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
Great computer, love how it gives you safe minutes depending on your breathing rate.
Quick disconnect is a must have especially if your travel by air to your dive destinations so your computer goes carry on.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
Recently used the Wisdom 2 (older model) on a week-long dive trip in Bonaire. It worked perfectly and as I had hoped. Changing the settings is very easy and intuitive and the manual is an easy read. I like the quick disconnect for ease of care, and packing, etc. Great product thusfar.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
This is my first computer. It is easy to read in the water as the screen and letters/numbers are large. I am familiar with about half of the functions. It does take some studying and practice. The o2 graphs are hard to read because they are along the edge of the screen.
Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
This is a great recreation computer. It is the easiest to read under water. Plentiful of functions for the recreational scuba diver. The software is pretty sweet because it has the manual on it. The manual on paper is pretty good, too. It is not entirely bulky, extremely reliable, easy to change batteries. Audible alarms are great, too. This is not a conservative computer nor can you change it as such, which is great for me.
The bad well don;t lose the software, for a novice diver it is best to practice the use of this computer in dry land before entering the water to get brushed up. Since it has only two buttons, some functions takes a sequence you must remember. It is a bit confusing to navigate.
For the price they ask for, it should come with the cable for free.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
Great backlighting. Easy to read. Ergonomic and low profile. The Quick Detach is a must have. I do recommend putting some hose caps on when the computer is detached from the hose though. The compass is really good and easy to dial in and read, even in low visibility. I have used with air and Nitrox EAN36 with no problems. Easy to program. Study the manual and get used to it before you dive. You shouldn't be learning how to use your computer while deeper than about 20 feet.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
I've been using this computer in Monterey Bay, CA for about 50 dives now, and I am madly in love with it. The screen is easy to read, the menus are intuitive, and the use of the two buttons make sense.
However, there are some negative things.
1)The compass seem to stick from time to time, and isn't as easy to read as some other compasses I've used.
2)The quick disconnect is nice if you plan on connecting to a PC, but if not, I would go without. It makes it easy to forget at home, easy to loose off a boat (seen it done), and be careful if you ever have to do an air-off bailout.
3)The PC software can be troublesome. Getting the dives off the wisdom is unintuitive and the software decides from time to time that it doesn't want to save your changes to dives.
Despite these problems, I still highly recommend this computer, and I'll give it a 5 since the problems are not with the wisdom 2 itself.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
This was my first dive computer. I have gone on to a UWATEC Galileo Sol and have passed the Wisdom 2 down to my daughter was has enjoyed it immensely.
The Wisdom 2 is a fine computer for almost any diving situation. The layout is intuitive, the numbers are large and easy to read and the ergonomics are great.
My only complaints are:
1.) The skimpiness of the manual. It sometimes takes a while, especially for a novice diver, to figure out how to set the thing up and why a certain setting might be appropriate. This admittedly is a minor quibble but it exacerbates problem #2.
2.) The totally non-intuitive way you D/L the dive information from the dive computer into your PC. I'm not sure what the designers were "smoking" but unless they've changed the software in the last month, you still has to use the original cumbersome method. If you do what seems intuitive. set the software to receive and the dive computer to transmit, you get a transfer msg but it doesn't go to the program on the PC. There is a 4-5 step dog-and pony show that you have to go thru to get the data into the electronic dive log.
3.) Like so many other top of the line dive computers, after paying $600-$1200 you have to shell out another $40-$70 for their propriety cable.

I really like that it is pressure integrated and can be used for air or nitrox. I'm glad I bought it with the quick-disconnect, when doing multiple dives you can take it off and record info into your dive log. The large numbers make it easy to read both in and out of the water. Great computer.

I used my new computer in Curacao for the first time. Great computer, easy to use. The owner's manual is not great but with some effort the computer itself is very easy to use. I bought the computer cable and love the dive log program.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
This is my first computer so I did lots of research before buying it. I am glad I did, because once I got it I realized I will be enjoying this bad boy for years to come. I though about buying a wrist computer and transmitter but I realized it's just more chances for something to fail, so I went with the safer choice. I don't think there is anything missing in this computer. Digits are big and easy to read under water, and has all the bells and whistles you may ever need. The quick disconnect feature is really great.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
Easy reader for us 60 year old divers, easy button and menu system. Only problem I have had was an operator error. I flooded the battery compartment-my bad. but a quick rinse and new battery put it back in working order. Decompression program makes sense to me ie, not too conservative or too liberal.
Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
great computer, easier to use than the suunto. although i like the suunto pc software more than the sherwoods. i bought the quick disconnect version which is a worth while feature, i just wish the would include some dust caps for the connectors. suunto has them with their quick disconnects. but as i stated earlier it is easier to use than the suunto and the buttons are easier to push. great product and this is something you dont go penny pinching with.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and Quick Disconnect:
I love the computer. Easy to read and the countdown timer gives you peace of mind. Pretty easy to operate. The quick-disconnect is a must-have to help you protect your computer. It comes with a great compass as well. The product manual is not very well written, luckily you can figure the computer out just by playing with it. Make sure you check the factory settings - the deep alarm is supposed to be set for 100 ft, but mine was at 330 before I changed it.
