Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 250" Air/Nitrox Dive Computer SWIV Triple Gauge Navcon Console with Compass:

I have used this computer for the last 18 months and have approximately 600 dives on it. I changed the battery once(very easy). I have never had a problem with it. It is pretty dummy proof. In total I have over 5000 dives and I simply love this computer. Other Computers have more features, but I have dove wrecks, caves, deep dives and shot a lot of video with this comp and have never felt like I needed more. Of course when everyone is showing off their expensive computers with all the bells and whistles I am always a little appologetic on the dive boat for not spending more :) .. I am thinking about buying 4 more for students....

Great product that performs as expected. I do alot of altitude diving and it's built in barometric conversion is a great feature. Nitrox, audible alarms, ascent/descent indicators are great. Computer is easy to read, though a slight learning cruve with the 2 button design. Once you figure it out, no problem.

I bought this to be a backup to my Tusa computer, given how easy it is to use and the advanced features it has it may become my main computer. It was spot on in side by side use with the IQ-800 during cold water quarry dives using EAN 30 mix.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 250" Air/Nitrox Dive Computer SWIV Triple Gauge Navcon Console with Compass:

I used this product while doing research diving in the San Juans. It was mostly used while diving NITROX in cold water. It worked well for ~100 dives and then one of the buttons got stuck... leisure pro backed up this product 100% and they replaced it without any problems. Now I mostly use it for night dives around Seattle and it is very easy to read...

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 250" Air/Nitrox Dive Computer SWIV Triple Gauge Navcon Console with Compass:

I bought this computer as a replacement for an Oceanic Versa Pro that I had used for several years and given to a friend. The Veo 250 is an updated model of the Versa Pro. It has a liberal algorithm which lets you maximize your bottom time, has easy to read numbers for those of us who require glasses to read and is a very reliable computer. I had over 500 dives on my old computer without a problem. The instructions are easy to follow and it requires very little time to figure out how to set the PO2, FO2 and timers. I am very satisfied with this computer and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a middle of the road air/nitrox dive computer.

This has been a great product for myself as well as the rest of my county rescue team. It also works well for normal and moderate tech diving. This is my primary computer for rescue work and as an instructor. For more advanced tech diving, there are more advanced products that I would steer towards. For a novice to advanced diver, this is an excellent tool and the preferred computer from the shop I work with. Be sure to buy one from a local dealer though so you know your service issues will be taken care of properly. I have had my computer about 4 years and no problems beyond having to change the time and the battery.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 250" Air/Nitrox Dive Computer SWIV Triple Gauge Navcon Console with Compass:

I purchased 2 of the Veo 250 consoles.......didn't get to go diving for 11 mos. after purchase due to family emergency. While in Bonaire, I noticed condensation on BOTH of the computer consoles....I sent them back to Oceanic, and since I purchased them from [@](not an authorized dealer) I had to have both of them fixed (over [$])..needless to say I was upset.....they attributed it to "one of the earlier production runs" that had a problem with the high-pressure relief seal. Also had to have one of the compasses replaced due to a large bubble...........

I've used it in warm water only, down to depths of 100 - 120 feet only, which is what I typically dive. It has performed faultlessly and is convenient, easy to read and use.The fact that it could do a lot more, and is built to tolerances to withstand a lot more than what I'll put it through, is extremely reassuring. I couldn't be happier with my choice[...].

Was trying to replicate the look and feel of an old "matrix" computer. It takes a little while to get used to the look and feel, as well as getting through the users manual, but everything clicked in a couple of days.

Unit is functioning perfectly.

Service & Delivery comments:

Kudos to David R. and Leisure Pro as usual. He was very intuitive in his recommendation of this unit, and it ended up being a perfect fit for my diving style.

Too bad all vendors can't run their businesses like LP !

I upgraded from an old oceanic data pro to this computer and the similarity made the switch very easy. This computer is easy to operate and set max P02, enriched air percentage, or other setting the user wants to change. Used the backlight function for the first time last night while diving and it was GREAT! The wrist strap also is very long and fits easily over your drysuit and all the undergarments.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 250" Air/Nitrox Dive Computer SWIV Triple Gauge Navcon Console with Compass:

If you are making air dives and don't need to make complicated dive plans the unit is great. It turns itself on and does it's job. The sequence and number of button pushes required for Nitrox requires carrying the cheat sheet card which is not very convenient. A plus for the unit is that it has USER REPLACABLE batteries. After having to mail the unit and pay $75 to replace batteries in my UWATEC Aladin I would never buy another piece of equipment without user replacable batteries.

This dive computer is very easy to use, quick to access previous dives, even old dives. The manual is very easy to read and it has a PDF file for your computer so you can download the manual. I would have liked the compass to be on the front instead of having to turn it around to the other side. However, this does not take away from the dive computer.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 250" Air/Nitrox Dive Computer SWIV Triple Gauge Navcon Console with Compass:

I'm really happy with the Veo 250. I have a little over 30 dives on it, in about 6 months, in multiple conditions; cold quarrys, 100+ fsw, 4 night dives, nitrox, and crystal clear tropical water. 23 of those dives were on a two week sailing live aboard in St. Lucia and Martinique. During the two week period the computer was always on because we dove frequently enough that it never had the chance to turn off. It was always wet, never had a fresh water rinse, and in general saw the worst beating I think I could have given it. It never failed once. I had zero problems with the computer, I didn't even have to replace the battery. It has a ton of features and more audible alarms then I would ever need. I really like the two button design, that is one of the main reasons I choose this model. It is super easy to program and use, even with 5mm gloves on. It is easy to read above and below the water, and the back light works great. I honestly can't think of one negative thing to say about the Veo 250 except for the price. But everyone wants everything cheaper, and you get what you pay for with the Veo.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 250" Air/Nitrox Dive Computer SWIV Triple Gauge Navcon Console with Compass:

This really is a great computer. Here's why I like mine so much; easy-to-read display, nitrox compatible, easy-to-read graphs for Nitrogen loading, O2 loading (if on nitrox), and ascent, audible alarms, ergonomically friendly, PC-downloadable, diver-replaceable batteries, good backlighting, automatic altitude adjustment, time-to-fly countdown. Plus, the owner's manual explains the computer's ample features in a clear, easy-to-read manner. Decompression mode (if you would ever need it) is easily explained and alarm, depth and time for safety stop, etc., are all easily readable and understandable. Also comes with cards displaying all computer modes. I had this computer for 2 years (before it was stolen in Bonaire). I absolutely loved it, knew it like the back of my hand, and am about to buy another.

I'd highly recommend Oceanic Veo 250...
By KevinVerified Reviewer from Georgia on 8/12/2007

Automatic altitude adjust, Diver-friendly layout, Easy-to-navigate function, Easy To Operate, Easy To Read, Lots Of Functions, Nitrox compatable, Pc downloadable, Reliable

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 250" Air/Nitrox Dive Computer SWIV Triple Gauge Navcon Console with Compass:

This really is a great computer. It's loaded with functions, yet very easy to read and use. I just got back from Bonaire and would highly recommend this dc to others. I've had mine for about 2 years and am extremely comfortable using it. The owner's manual is presented in an easy-to-read manner that will actually have you understanding all your computers features.

I also like the auto-disconnect option. When you're done diving, it easily disconnects and can be stored safely.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic "Veo 250" Air/Nitrox Dive Computer SWIV Triple Gauge Navcon Console with Compass:

My wife has had the Veo200 for years and loves it.
I had to get one for myself. Veo 250 is the newer version. Just got back from a week in Cozumel. We did 10 dives, and this computer worked like a champ. It really keeps you very aware of your ascent and decent rates for your safety. I think it keeps up to 24 of your dives in the log, then starts to purge from oldest out, newest in. Great interval/surface screens and Time to fly screens.
Automatic turn on when you hit the water. Several folks had different computers and one forgot to turn theirs on at the beginning of the dive. This computer eliminates that mistake.
Thanks

I've had my Veo 250 since Spring '06. It has been very reliable and is currently operating on its original battery. The computer took a little getting used to but was easy to learn. The face guard can be replaced when it gets scratched up but it has not be necessary thus far.
