Like to wear your computer on your wrist the new Puck series computers are perfect for those in need of pure ease. The Puck is a full function RGBM dive computer with larger digits for easy reading and backlight on demand, single button to smoothly scroll through the menu options. Keep on your wrist or pop into one of the Puck consoles for maximum mounting options. The Puck Computer uses Mares-Wienke RGBM (Reduced Gradient Bubbles Model) algorithm. The RGBM takes into account the phenomenon of micro-bubbles in order to prevent their formation. In over 10,000 real dives monitored by Dr. Bruce Wienke in the Los Alamos laboratories, the formation of micro-bubbles has been studied and evaluated in order to better understand the mechanism behind how micro-bubbles are formed during a dive. Today it is the most evolved algorithm for reducing the formation of micro-bubbles without compromising dive times.

The instruction book that came with it was not very helpful but it didn't take long to figure out how to use it. I have used it on 30 dives now and it has worked perfectly every time. Best deal for your money.

Comments about Mares Mares Puck Wrist Computer:

This was my first computer and I have used it on about 25 dives, including my advanced open water training. My gear is a mixed bag of several brands and I did not initially have a computer in my gauge package, so this wrist mounted pc is great.
As I always say in reviews read, read, read and try to run through the functions on dry land.
It has settings for audible alarms which sometimes bug other divers LOL and increased safety factors for the algorithim.
Once I learned how to use it, I love it.
I wish the product had the digital instruction now advertised when I was learning to use.
Guess having an experienced dive buddy to run some questions through would have been helpful, but ultimately this was easy!

Comments about Mares Mares Puck Wrist Computer:

Great little computer with a lot to it and simple one-button scroll through. The one drawback is that there doesn't appear to be a way to track your surface interval in the 'logbook' menu without calculating it yourself from dive times and times entered into the water.

Comments about Mares Mares Puck Wrist Computer:

Love this Computer. It is simply to use and has all the functions I need. It is small and not bulky, but the numbers are easy to read and the display is clear. The one button is easy to get used to and now I use it with out thinking about it. The best thing about it is the price. You get a air and EAN computer for half of what some cost, and it is a Mares so you know the quality and workmanship in it will make the computer last. The only reason I did not put cold water or extreme depths is because I have not had a chance to use it in those dives.

Comments about Mares Mares Puck Wrist Computer:

I've used this on six dives so far, ranging from the Bahamas to quarries in the Northeast. It's a great computer for recreational divers. Although the functions are limited in comparison to high-priced models, it offers everything that an average diver would need at a fraction of the cost.

Comments about Mares Mares Puck Wrist Computer:

Here's my mini review of the Mares Puck:
firstly all of the needed information is nicely and uncluttered-ly displayed, with clear bold digits which are very easy to read, even from an angle.
Operating the Puck is very straight forward- one button makes for all the function you need when a short press moves forward on the menu and a long one selects.
I've read the manual once, set my initial parameters, and than never had to consult with it again. Since than I've managed to switch from Air to Nitrox on the fly, including specifying the exact mix of course, I've easily managed to set conservative parameters and accessing the log book function post dive is easy as well. It has a nice backlight option which is useful on night dives. It has an easy to use accent rate monitor with alarm. It's pretty easy to understand when it goes into safety stops and just how long you have left before deco. It's battery replaceable. It has a dive simulator in case you need it.
I've had some concern regarding just how conservative the algorithm is after reading a little bit in some relevant forums but in reality hadn't encountered a situation when it came into play and I felt limited in any way.
I can easily recommend it.

Comments about Mares Mares Puck Wrist Computer:

Everything worked great once I mastered the PUCK setup. All systems worked according to Mares advertising and it only took two dives to get acclimated to the PUCK readout. Pressure gauge is a pressure gauge. After second dive noted the PUCK had a scratch on the lens possibly caused by coral abrasion, have to check on a protective cover for it.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery great, arrived in great condition. Regulator and gauges arrived in one box, well packaged.
