The Best Interface Between Man and the Sea

Nemo Wide was designed to be easy-to-read, intuitive to use, safe, and reliable. A large size display was one of the primary requirements behind the creation of this product. In order to optimize readability in every circumstance, special attention was paidto the size and brightness of the numbers, to the intensity of the backlighting, and to maximizing the viewing angle. Another key characteristic of Nemo Wide is that it is simple to use, due to the user friendly Easy-Access system with four buttons. The ergonomic design and the many cutting edge technical characteristics indisputably make Nemo Wide the best interface between man and the sea. Nemo Wide Computer uses Mares-Wienke RGBM (Reduced Gradient Bubbles Model) algorithm. The RGBM takes into account the phenomenon of micro-bubbles in order to prevent their formation. In over 10,000 real dives monitored by Dr. Bruce Wienke in the Los Alamos laboratories, the formation of micro-bubbles has been studied and evaluated in order to better understand the mechanism behind how micro-bubbles are formed during a dive. Today it is the most evolved algorithm for reducing the formation of micro-bubbles without compromising dive times.

Comments about Mares Mares Nemo Wide Wrist Computer:

Nice display, and 2-gas support is good. For tech/trimix, the bottom timer mode needs better stopwatch support and/or allowing you to input a dive profile. If they add trimix support, then I'll stop whining.

Comments about Mares Mares Nemo Wide Wrist Computer:

Very Very easy to set up and to change mixes between dives. Big easy to read display. Main gripes : Drak software is confusing when explaining/not explaining setting for ascent rate. It shows a number, then % ft min. Huh ?
Does that number mean percent of max rate ? Or actual rate in Ft/min. ? All this applies to user manual - poor or lacking clarity of explanation. Programming is all metric so if you want Imperial units displayed, the dive planner mode lets you plan to 79 ft, but not 80. It can't "think" in terms of feet. It "thinks" in metric, then displays in imperial. The important aspects of this unit are easy to use, so I can recommend it, just be prepared for some annoyances in the software and manual if you are a westerner. BTW Hafa to Joe in Saipan, I lived there 8 yrs.

Comments about Mares Mares Nemo Wide Wrist Computer:

My Nemo completely satisfied me. My friend has these two and three grand computers and the only thing that they do that the Nemo doesn't is switch gases on the fly and have games on a safety stop. I just dove the Oriskany and one guy beside me actually paid more attention to my safety stop timer than his because he could read mine better. I have found the computer to only have one down fall and that is the backlight doesn't stay lit long enough.

Comments about Mares Mares Nemo Wide Wrist Computer:

Well designed and easier to read than the Suunto models. Large easy to reach and operate buttons add to the user friendly aspects of this computer. Mineral glass cover negates need for a plastic protective device and so you don't get fog ups and air bubbles trapped that make reading on the surface difficult as on other models.

Comments about Mares Mares Nemo Wide Wrist Computer:

This is one of the most user freindly computers out there! Very easy to learn and use all the functions the computer has. You won't outgrown this computer until you want to gas switch during your dive. I did not find this computer to be too conservative like other people, they may want to double check there settings. I used this computer from 30ft 60 min+ dives to full deco beyond rec limits with zero issues!

Comments about Mares Mares Nemo Wide Wrist Computer:

I use this computer while diving the N. Atlantic wrecks, during search and recovery ops. Very easy to read in low vis. Had to purchase from dive shop the protective cover. That's the only downfall. This one replaced a Sunnto that failed me on a 135'/41m dive. Very reliable and easy to use the functions with 7mm gloves on. Easy and large readable display.

The big screen is great and works really well. Espcially wearing lots of cold water gear your not as flexible as in warm water, You don't have to look very far te see your Nemo wide.

Nemo Wide: A very conservative computer
By PaoloVerified Reviewer from New York on 9/6/2007
Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Too conservative
Best Uses:
Recreation, Warm Water
Describe Yourself:
Beginner, Recreational Diver
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Mares Mares Nemo Wide Wrist Computer:

Very intuitive and easy to use. The display is at least as readable as the ons of UWATEC's wrist units but in a smaller package. The only drawback is that the Mares Nemo is way too conservative.

Display could not get any better!
By GirlieVerified Reviewer from Manila, Philippines on 7/10/2007
Pros:
Easily Adjustable, Good display
Best Uses:
Recreation
Describe Yourself:
Advanced Diver, Recreational Diver
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Mares Mares Nemo Wide Wrist Computer:

If you are a mature diver needing reading glasses, this is the dive computer for you! My first concern in purchasing a computer is whether or not i could read the display underwater. your computer is rendered useless if you can't read it. i was happy to dive with it to 120ft. I had difficulty reading my mini gauges but not my computer!

Nemo wide is quite conservative. Don't go violating its 39ft/min max ascent rate or you won't hear the end of its beep.
