Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Archimede II Wrist Computer:

I used this computer for approx 150 dives and was very happy with it. Unfortunately I lost it. Anyway, it did everything I needed and was easy to use. It was more conservative than my buddy's Aladin, and I always clicked into deco before him. However it wasn't really a big deal. My only complaints is on two occasions I didn't notice the low battery warning symbol and it ran out on me mid dive. I feel they could make this much more obvious. I also recommend the battery be replaced at more frequent intervals than the manual states, and definitely before every dive trip. This is cheap and easy to do.

By the way this computer is made by Seiko and is also re-badged as Tusa IQ-700, Apeks Quantam, Zeagle N2ition, and Dive Rite Nitek Duo. Some of these are considerably more than the Cressi even though they are the same computer. The only difference is all the above will fit in a DSS bungy wrist boot, while the Cressis doesn't.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Archimede II Wrist Computer:

This computer was very easy to use. I did read the book before using but it was actually easier just to scroll through the pages on the computer itself. Very self explanatory. The conservation was just right, only about a min. difference between it and my cave diver friends more expensive computers.
The only thing I found was that you shouldn't try to put your gas settings in too soon after a dive. You need to wait at least 10 min or it resets the gas setting to default and you will end up getting O2 saturated. It does give you a warning when you pass 13ft and allows you to surface and set it if you do forget. I just didn't know what was going on to start with. Very nice computer and cheap too.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Archimede II Wrist Computer:

Good value for money, functional and easy to use. Large screen and visible characters under water. However, it is quite bulky, so it cannot double as a wrist-watch. The scratch-guard is tacky and rattles - I removed it. Does not have the aesthetic appeal of a Suunto Stinger, but it delivers the functionality of more expensive dive computers at a cheaper price.

Suitable for basic technical diving.
By GrayswanderVerified Reviewer from Israel on 11/8/2009
Pros:
Easy To Read, Supports deco gas swotchi, Supports deep deco stops, Works on Bulhmann algorit
Best Uses:
Basic technical diving
Describe Yourself:
Advanced Diver
Diving Type:
Basic technical diving

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Archimede II Wrist Computer:

It uses Bulhmann decompression algorithm. While it gives shorter NDL times than RGBM, it is very close to decompression tables, which allows using it along with runtime on slate.
When I took it to 54 meters with 25 min. exposition, it gave same deco time as my buddy's VR3.

Short Deco limits
By The FrogmanVerified Reviewer from Chicago, IL on 10/3/2008
Cons:
Short No Deco
Best Uses:
Shallow Recreational dive
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Archimede II Wrist Computer:

The battery Died on my 4th dive. The numbers are easy to read but the graphs are difficult to read especially with the lens protector on. A bit complicated to operate so a review of the manual is essential. Had to re-set the time, date, pressure of oxygen, max depth alarms, etc when replacing the battery. Most concerning is the Very Short No Deco times. For example, the computer allows a max NDL of 100 Min at 40' when the PADI Recreational dive planner allows 140 minutes. At 60 feet it allows 45 Min whereas the RDP allows 55 Mins. This is a significant difference. I even changed the PO (pressure of oxygen) to 1.6 and it is still Very conservative. While at a 20 Ft deco stop the depth gauge was fluctuating between 20 - 23 feet without going to 21, 22 feet. Not a big deal, but makes you wonder. I would say if you are a recreational diver that dives 60 feet or less a few times a year and don't care too much about your dive times, this computer would be o.k. for you. I generally dive up to 120 feet and need every minute of dive time making this computer almost useless other than a depth gauge and timer.

This is my second Archamedies II. Since buying my first one, I have also owned Suunto and Oceanic. For a full size multi gas computer nothing else compares both in features and value for money. As good for beginers, got this one for my son who just finished his AOW, as for advanced and technical, I am an SSI AOW Instructor.

Nice and easy to read and understand. The manual is a little complicated. Play with the computer a little before you read the manual, I found that helped a little. Best Uses:
Cold Water, Extreme Depths, Professional, Recreation, Warm Water
Describe Yourself:
Technical Diver
Bottom Line:

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Archimede II Wrist Computer:

I had been testing extensively this model for 1.5 years.

I´ve bought two exactly equal units, and tested them in liveaboard in Maldives (25 dives), Mexico,( 15 dives)and Truk Lagoon (12 Dives).

For recreational nothing more you can ask, even for technical diving it did with Safety factor 0 ABSOLUTELY match the output of a Suunto D9 and calculation with Decoplanner.

The feature of changing gas to 100 O2 on mix 2 and recalculate the DECO time is great and works, the algorith is reliable.

In micronesia (truk lagoon) 12 technical dives changing gases and all calculations perfect, equal to suuntos in deco time.

Other than using trimix for any two nitrox combinations and extended range I´d not spend any more bucks.

Also Recommend the download kit

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Archimede II Wrist Computer:

I bought this DC last year, used it in almost 30 dives and I'm very pleased.
It's reliable, you can use Nitrox up to 50% and you can change between 2 diferent gases in the same dive (being the second gas nitrox up to 99%) and you can replace the batteries yourself.
The only thing is that I can't hear the alarms very well when I'm using a hood.

Overall IT´S GREAT!!

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Archimede II Wrist Computer:

If you want some decent time on the bottom, don’t go with this computer! I don’t want to end up in the dive chamber anymore than the next guy but I do like to enjoy my dive. I bought it, used it and my bottom time was soooooooo conservative that everyone I was with had at least 10 minutes of BT left!!! If you dive with a group, do them a favor and find out what computers they use and either go with that brand or find one with at least a comparable bottom time. Having four or five minutes difference won’t bother your friends but 8 to 15 minutes will have you looking for new dive buddies.

This has an algorythm that is "middle of the road" to conservative. Gives more bottom time than Suunto, less that Oceanic or Aeris. Has the two gas feature like the most ecoensive computers. Easy to change battery. I can't always hear the beeper, although my kid can. It would rate five little flags with a louder beep.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Archimede II Wrist Computer:

I bought this computer for my husband, and ended up using it myself. We had a little trouble converting it from meters to feet. You have to read the manual really closely so that you know the right button combo to push. But it's nice that it stores all the dives so that you can update your log at the end of the day. It takes the guesswork out of filling our your dive log, and I find that I use it to fill out my old-fashioned dive tables to ensure that I've gotten the right surface intervals.

The specs are honest, the audible alarms sound on the cautious side, it's easy to use...it's a great computer.

It's absolutely brilliant and amazingly inexpensive dive computer with lots of features including 2 nitrox mixtures. I’ve been using it for 1.5years in different conditions. No problems/glitches. As far as I know, this DC has the same electronic part as TUSA IQ-700. Very easy to change battery by yourself, which is standard one and can be bought everywhere. If upper plastic got scratched, you can easily change the upper part which comes in different colors. Highly recommended!!
BTW, I’ve just received another 2pcs for my wife and a friend. :)

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Archimede II Wrist Computer:

This Computer is AWSOME. It does every function that is needed for divers. I used this computer in Gennie springs and Devils Den FL. It worked great. It let me know when it was time to turn back, when to stop. It has a planning function that was a BIG help when doing surface intervels in addition to planning my next dive.I wanted a more expensive computer but this one does all that i need and i go on a few diving trips a year. The only downfall this computer has is that it is not a hoseless system. I will reach down and look at my gague before paying an additional $[...] bucks..
