Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

I've had a Mosquito for many years now and just bought this one because Suunto is discontinuing the model. My first one has taken a lot of abuse and hundreds of dives and still works well. For the price, this computer has everything you really need and is very reliable. I will never use anything but a Suunto of some sort.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

Dive watch used as back-up computer. It works out great as it is very similar to my primary system (Cobra). Got the mosquito as download system is same as the Cobra. Price was right! However, the general operation is slightly different, that I need to use it more, to get to know all the functions. Overall very saisfied with product.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

We have found this computer to be way too conservative for long dive vacations. It appears that the RGBM that Suunto is tuned to add on conservativism very rapidly when you dive consecutive day, for example on a dive vacation. By the third or fourth day I am hanging above the reef while my spouse continues exploring with his Cressi Archimede 2 computer. I am in good health and we generally dive very mild conditions so I don't need an extremely conservative setting on my computer but that is all the Suunto Mosquito offers.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

I got this computer as an emergency replacement to my Uwatec Air-X that unexpectedly failed during a deep dive (pretty scary). Been using it five years, now as a backup to an air-integrated Suunto Cobra (original model). I've logged over 130 dives on this "watch". Extremely simple and intuitive to use, both topside as underwater. Great for EAN also. My only gripes are that the display is necesarily small and the bar graphs are somewhat hard to read, and that the display contrast is low, so in poor light you have to activate the 5 sec. backlight. An important plus is that the battery is easily replaced by user. I carry an extra battery and battery-cover in my waterproof goodies bag and I've replaced it twice in five years; a five minute affair. Also quite fine as a travel watch as it can display a 2nd time zone, and the main one is a cinch to change without disturbing the minutes and seconds. I only wish it could look smarter and not as a $30 trinket so I could use it all the time, even to parties!

Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

[...]This is a high performing, full featured, dive watch. It has air, nitrox, and free diving modes. It has log, memory and customizable settings. It works great, and is the same size as my old dive watch. It works well, and tells you when to do safety stops when ascending. I had no problem reading the display with my middle aged eyes. The casing is plastic, which is great. I wear it as my watch, and it doesnt set off the metal detector at airport security. On the negative side, you need to read the full 100 page manual to use this properly. For example, in order to change from meters to feet display, search the manual for Imperial, ie you are changing from metric to Imperial settings. Once you learn how to use it, it is great. In summary, I highly recommend this computer.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

After having problems with my air integrated computer, I was in need of a quickly available / inexpensive computer for a trip to Roatan. Had this [...] shipped to me just before departure and it worked flawlessly. Low profile, EAN enabled and small size made it perfect for a week of recreational diving. I even pushed my limits one day and it simply placed a ceiling on ascent and provided a count down. Since I wore it as a watch, planing my next dive and checking on surface interval was a piece of cake. Suunto is discontinuing this item, so get one while their still around.

Delivery was prompt and no problems with customer service.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

I like the smallness of this computer but it's not that easy to read underwater & the capibilites weren't intuitive. I had to focus & concentrate on how this unit worked. Once I got the hang of it, it all made sense. I wanted to understand the readings & alarms before I descended so I spent alot of time with the manual because of the multiple functions. I have noticed alot of dive masters using this computer. Although, I haven't downloaded my dives into my PC, the history function works good. I would say for the money, I'm very happy with this computer. I also like the fact that I can wear it as a watch as well.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

The mosquito is a good value for the money IF all you need it for is freediving. I use mine for spearfishing all the time, and thought I would use it as a backup for my Viper console, but it's really not necessary. It has most all of the functions you need for freediving, but is more complicated than it needs to be, or rather, requires more user input/interaction than I think necessary.

As a recreational dive watch I like the functionality of the product. Keeps track of the basics and if you buy the download kit you can chart your dives with all the information. The one downside is that the product is too conservative, and comparing to others, you'll have to adjust your dive plans accordingly.

This is a decent computer. My only beef is even at the most liberal of settings, it is the most conservative computer when comparing it to my peers and other divers.

The PC interface is OK. The software is good but the method of hook up is a little hokey to me.

A good computer for beginning divers, but if you do alot of diving especial multiple muti level diving I'd go another direction

I really enjoy using the watch. At first, it took a while to get the hang of how to navigate through the functions, but after a short time of playing (and reading the manual) it's easy & works great!

I had one problem with on my first week of diving with it - one of the buttons split in two for no reason. But it was still usable until it could be serviced.

It's not as sensitive on ascent as my friend's citizen, which I, personally, like better.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

I have used this computer for both recreational diving to 30 m with Nitrox and air whilst on holiday. It was cheap enough to buy just for that purpose. Its really easy to set up and use and doubles as a watch so you don't need to take it off between dives. The neatest thing is the fact that you can use it free diving. I got a real buzz out of this feature seeing how deep I could go and or how long my free dives were. The facility automatically kicks in so there are no buttons to press at the start or finish of a free dive and its stores all those free dives in its memory so I could scroll through them over a drink at the end of the day and bore my wife with how manly I had been. A real boys toy.

After one dive, numbers/letters are fading when pressing buttons, not user friendly, made with cheap materials. My first and last Suunto.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

I first used the SUUNTO Mosquito during my Advanced Open Water Course and have already logged 8 dives using it. The SUUNTO Vector is my other outdoor sports watch (for skiing/mountaineering), so it was a no-brainer to use the Mosquito with its similar logic. I use the Mosquito as my everyday sports watch, so it keeps me focused on planning the next dive...it's rough living in a place where you can dive every weekend!

Gave it to my girlfriend as a gift and she really enjoyed using it. Then we broke up, but she kept the Suunto. She liked it enough not to trash it out of anger, at least... :)

Comments about Aqualung Suunto Mosquito Wrist Dive Computer:

Even though Mosquito is the basic watch computer from Suunto, there is no reason why they should have to use such a poor quality PLASTIC lens. It is too bad they couldn't use the same quality, harder lens of an inexpensive watch that is seen in a common department store. Isn't it strange how companies have come out with a rubbery lens shield to cover the plastic lens of this watch computer?
