If you see diving more as a way of life than as a hobby, then the Suunto D6 is the computer for you. By wearing the D6 during your dives, you're able to record information about each dive's maximum depth, directions traveled, time at depth, and decompression information. The easy-to-read display offers you the ability to quickly review your dive's crucial statistics.

Because of Suunto's integrated RGBM system, the D6 allows you to make repeated stops at various depths, instead of making a more traditional single safety stop to decompress. This feature allows you to maximize your time below the surface without compromising your safety.

If diving with Nitrox, the D6 offers you the ability to easily switch between gases during the dive, which means you can alter your oxygen levels as you ascend, reducing the length of your required decompression stop.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

I'm a pro diver and have nothing but problems with this model. Poor design on the band design, plastic glued to a metal piece that breaks super easy, I have broke three so far... Also this is my second d6. First died around 850 dives, less than a year old. Also buttons stick a lot!

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

Wear it daily as i'm an instructor and have for more than 2 years. Love many things about this computer however i was happier with my sunnto stinger w/ wrist strap compass. More durable and most don't need all the bells and whistles in the D6. Watch your wrist straps as i've seen many break. Very disappointed w/ the straps for the money of this computer.

Bought D6 in April 2008. Screen went blank during my 2nd (out of 5 days) dive liveaboard in the Similan, Thailand in December 2009. Was told that it's not a battery problem. Hope that this is under warranty, if not, it's going to cost a bomb to be sent to Finland for repair.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

Bought the item for a diving trip to Cozumel. It worked beautifully and was easy to understand. The manual could be a little better with larger print and clearer pictures of the part of the computer that the manual is trying to explain. A few things that puzzled me on my first dive had a lot more to do with my lack of experience as a diver than a problem with the computer. Since I set the depth and time way too conservatively at the beginning, the D6 was beeping at me like crazy, but after I adjusted the setting to something more realistic to the environment I was diving in, it "behaved" better. LOL!! I would definitely recommend this computer to anyone who is looking for a stylish, great looking, not HUGE (big though), reliable and reputable diving computer. I can't wait to take it to Rio de Janeiro in a couple of weeks.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

Came with rubber straps as well as screen protectors (2) first one still looks great, I have used this for 6 dives now, absolutely love it. I prefer the metal strap to the rubber one but i have noticed that after 6 dives it is starting to get scratched, but compared price wise to the D9 titanium, I think the D6 is the best value.

The only issues I have is (one)gauge mode, I accidently left it in gauge mode when I went snorkeling cost me two days of diving as you have to wait 48 hours before you can change it to Air or Nitrox dive modes, I wish it was smart enough to realise that I was snorkeling, or maybe have a reset option.

(two) Very conservative even with RGBM set to 50%, can cause issues if your buddy is diving with a less conservative dive computer.

Service & Delivery comments:

Leisurepro was fantastic, great communication, fast shipper and they even price matched me based on another website price.
I will use Leisurepro for all my scuba purchases.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

I chose to use a IPOD screen protector cut to size rather than the plastic protector. It keeps a lower profile.

Got it a week ago and dove 24 times last week in Bonaire. Usefull timers and screens and dive profile display. Calibration of compass was easy.

Used with students logging their dive profiles. Presentation is impressive.

Suunto's web site is good. It would be great if it showed a video of setting up the D6. My eyes glaze over reading the manual. Hardest thing to learn is how fast you have to move your fingers pushing buttons to change to desired modes. It was confusing at first until someone showed me.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

I just received the D6 and have yet to use it, however after spending a good 30 minutes reviewing the manual (highly recommended), I feel quite prepared.

The quality and workmanship is great. It is solid state. Menus are easy to navigate. The computer was very easy to setup/configure for my use.

Those wondering how to secure the protective screen cover see below:

1. Attach the O-ring to one side of the screen cover (over, under, over weave through the slots provided on the screen cover).

2. Place the cover over the D6 screen with the O-ring at the 3 o-clock or 9 o-clock position.

3. Take the slack of the O-ring and bring it under the D6 and secure to the other side using the same over, under, over pattern.

Once you run through the drill once or twice it becomes quite easy. I plan on ordering a second screen cover, as I expect the provided O-ring to deteriorate over time.

Service & Delivery comments:

LeisurePro is always outstanding to work with and this transaction was no different. The D6 was at my door in less than 24 hours, as requested. I have called on their customer service before and they are great to work with and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to answering technical questions on gear and other products. I order all my gear through LeisurePro and have yet to be dissatisfied or unimpressed. I have returned an item to LeisurePro before and that transaction was executed with no hassle what-so-ever. This team is top notch.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

Having just received the D6 and download kit from Leisure Pro. I can't comment on how it performs whilst diving, as it may be a couple of months before I get diving again. But I've just setup the watch time and other setting parameters. It appears to be a solid and quality instrument. Relative easy to navigate, although I've yet to see a diving computer that is perfect for all. I'll get used to the navigation with use.

I haven't a clue how to mount the included plastic screen protector and "O" ring. Some instructions from Suunto would have been useful!!

I havent given it a tick for reliability yet. That will be hard to judge for quite some time. Years I would say.

The first thing I have ordered is some plastic/vinyl screen protectors. The screen looks horribly easy to scratch in or out of the water. Suunto should have included a few of these stick on protectors in the box. They only cost cents. Although to order has cost me around $10. Well worth it!

I've given it a rating of 4 instead of 5 due to the fact that I can't yet judge its reliability, and the fact that Suunto didn't include some plastic/vinyl protectors for the vulnerable screen, or instructions on how to mount the included screen guard.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

I was encouraged by my friend who has a D9, and I was really happy to own this D6 as it has everything in the D9 without the air integration which I don't like anyway. All this with a much cheaper price.
I love this computer and all the functions it has, especially the integrated compass.
My only pick on it is the screen protector that came with it which doesn't work and it has a very strange way to mount. I am an engineer and I tried so hard to mount it with the best way, especially without any word of instruction on how to do it in the manual, needless to say it is so poorly written. I got it broken in the first dive with it and later I got my screen scratched very easily and I had to buy a much reliable screen protector that attaches directly to the D6's screen.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

I found it easy to use. I found peoples complaints far fetched. Simply put... it is a computer, so read the manual. I found the manual difficult to understand. I think I initially struggled for 30 min and later found that the functions totally redundant. common sense...if you dont have it, this isnt for you.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

from the reviews i was a bit intimidated because i was expecting a hard to use computer. I had a hard 10 mins trying to understand the manual. Everything is redundant on the computer and easy to find once you read yes, read the manual. I wear this thing casually like a watch, which it is, just a bit over size but nothing like the other wrist mounts in the business. I personally will never go back to consoles and huge wrist mounts again. Just pay the extra money its worth it. I chose the d6 over the d9 because it just didnt feel double the money was worth air integration but that was just a personal call.

Comments about Aqualung Suunto D6 Wrist Computer:

The D6 is a must have piece of apparatus for any serious diver. Don't let the cost deter you from making this purchase. Diving with this instrument with its conservative algorithim helps any diver get the maximum from his/her dives while knowing the instrument is there to help safeguard your diving experience. When I purchased the D6, it did not come the USB pc interface cord that allows you to download your dives. This was a major disappointment. I had to search throughout the world to find the cord. [...] should offer this as a bundled or separate item.
