I thoroughly enjoyed using the Cobra II and this computer is great for traveling. The Cobra is quite easy to move from function to function, which the computer has many functions.

The Suunto Cobra II is a very compact, feature-laden diving computer which allows for as good deal of personal adjustment, including establishing more conservative diving profiles, the changing of gases for those who require it, as well as adjusting or eliminating audible alarms (which I absolutely loathe).
The one feature most commonly criticized in the Cobra 2 is that of the digital compass, which will only display a given bearing when tilted 5˚ or less from level; but such complaints are spurious, and if you're so terribly concerned about your underwater bearings, keeping a compass at level is already your best bet . . .

I use it in every single dive I have ever made, night/day dives in cold/very cold water, clear and not at all clear water (North Sea, in The Netherlands) .
Easy to operarte and read in all condition; Great digital compass; dive info, profile, etc.
I suggest that the manufacturer must add few examples on the use of different functionality of it (ex. Locking a bearing).

This computer is very nice, but the electronic compass is not very useful. The compass is difficult to use because you have to switch screens often. The computer must also be very close to level for the compass to start indicating. If buying this cpu for navigation, I would choose the old analog style unit.

I enjoy this computer, one of the easier computers to use on the market. This computer collects a lot of dive data as well as calculates dive times very accurately. The only downfall that I find to the computer is the built in compass. It is a pain to switch the screen to get to the compass especially for the Northwest where viz is poor. I added a compass to make it easier to navigate and view my console information at the same time. The added compass isn't that bad though.

I was looking for a computer plus pressure gauge and this has everything. It is very easy to use and read, it has a lot of functions but it is conservative, something I consider good. The easy attach hose works perfectly and let you separate the computer of the regulator, a great feature to travel. Now I do not have to use separate instruments in my divings. Use scuba equipment before to buy it.
