Comments about Sherwood Sherwood Luna BCD with CQR Weight Integration System:

The craftsmanship is not the best. The membrane at the shoulder release valve will not stay put. The only problem may be the intake of water when the valve is open. I didn't notice any significant amount of water after the dive. The handle on the lower release valve came off in my hand during the first dive. I put it in my pocket and was able to reattach after the dive. The vest is comfortable, and with the exception of those 2 minor problems the BC worked well.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood Luna BCD with CQR Weight Integration System:

I only recently became a certified diver, and I wanted to purchase a BCD that was really made for a woman before I went out for my certification dives. Not to be too specific, but I am fairly short, with a large chest and smaller waist, so I was initially worried that this BCD would not fit. I ordered a medium, put it on the second it arrived, and it fit like a glove. I love this thing. There are only two negative things about this BCD, that I have found thus far, and the first is that there are not enough places for clips, attachments, etc. There are a number of pockets, but a very limited number of places to attach a whistle, retractable compass, etc. Second, the strap on the waist is elastic, and does not adjust very far. My BCD fits like a glove now, so I am a tad worried about what the fit will be like if I put on a thicker wetsuit. But, those are my only complaints thus far. Other than that, I am extremely happy with this purchase!!

Great Women's BCD for a casual diver...
By Diver GirlVerified Purchaser from Minnesota on 9/16/2009

Diving Type:
Open Water Diving
Bottom Line:

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood Luna BCD with CQR Weight Integration System:

Very comfortable BCD for the price, that fits a women's body well. Mine fits well, except a little snug when fully inflated. I have only used it on a couple of dives so far, but I'm very pleased!

The only reason I put poor craftsmanship is because the waist strap is an undersized piece of elastic. The buckle slipped off on my second dive, but it was easy enough to put back on. Annoying, but not a big deal.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood Luna BCD with CQR Weight Integration System:

I'm actually giving this BCD a 4 1/2 only because I'm short and when I adjust the torso length to where I need it the chest strap pads dig into me but problem solved by not tighting it so much. Other than that the fit is great and easy for me to don by myself. I've been diving since 91 here and there, and am excited about using it in open water.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood Luna BCD with CQR Weight Integration System:

This is my first women's BCD, and my first with integrated weights. What a wonderful, comfortable experience! Having the right fit and several adjustment points (I'm not small-waisted, so I was afraid it wouldn't fit) made all the difference -- I had more freedom of movement and endurance for longer and deeper dives than previously. The only reason I didn't check "durable" is because I haven't owned it long enough to say for sure -- but I expect a number of good years from it.

This was the best!!! I am short so I have to strap my BC high on my tank, the dual tank straps ensure that my tank does not fall off. The whole thing is very comfortable, it does not ride up like other BC's

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood Luna BCD with CQR Weight Integration System:

I'm a rather small woman with approx. 100 dives logged. I've used all sorts of rental gear till buying this BCD - so I have a pretty good basis of comparioson. I love my new Luna. Maybe I'd just love it cuz it's my own gear, tho -- but it's mighty fine! I would rather have had the cool zipper vest that Zecor (?) offers - but I needed Sherwood since it can be serviced most everywhere in the world (especially on Roatan).

It's convenient - everything in the right place for quick donning and exit. Love the integrated weight system -- easy in and out.

And it's kinda feminine -- why can't Sherwood make a funky jacket for women? Or color choices?

cons -
1) I wish BCDs came without the elastic sternum strap -- why? It just stretches out of shape and then I'll have to replace it. bummer.
2) Full inflation for rough surface water made me feel pretty squeezed -- I've never noticed this in other brands. It's tolerable for sure, but an annoyance - I've certainly been more comfy in other brands at full inflation.
3) The strap that holds the inflator is too low -- it's much more efficient if the strap doesn't hold it quite so far down. (air rises . . .)
