Brand: Sherwood
Located in: Essential Equipment, Buoyancy Compensators
Comfort is what everyone wants in a Buoyancy Compensator. Being comfortable is one of the most essential elements that determines whether or not you have a pleasant diving experience. Achieving and maintaining neutral buoyancy is a necessary skill to be comfortable in the water.
Nothing makes your command of this skill easier than the new AXIS BC. Whether the sewn-in back pack that provides unprecedented stability with the tank, the convenience of the back-mounted flotation cell, or the time-proven, reliable, easy-to-operate CQR2 integrated weight system that secures the placement of your weights, you can expect comfort with the new AXIS.
Finishing details such as the plush interior with a comfort neckline, convenient pockets with zipper closures, the high-grade materials, and rear-mounted trim weight pockets all lead to a buoyancy compensator that will maximize your diving convenience and comfort.
The design of the AXIS and simplified harness system allows you to get into the gear with a minimum of adjustments. These features make this BC a favorite of novice as well as advanced divers.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood Axis Bcd:

Great BC. Fits and adjusts nicely. Very streamline and comfortable. Like the other post states, check the inflator hose at the shoulder. Mine also came lose. Found it during my pre-dive check. Tightened it up and was fine. No room to hold anything more than a bc light and signal tube, but keeps the profile very tight. All in all, great BC.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood Axis Bcd:

Good simple BC. Simplicity and related weight savings make it good for travel. Secure integrated weight system that will hold plenty of lead. Trim pockets are big enough to trim despite how much neoprene you're wearing (I never throw anything in the trim pockets). No cumberbun which is just one less thing to fumble with and makes complete sense on a back inflate BC.

Only complaints would be the excess webbing on the should adjustments (long but easily fixed) and a long inflator.

All in all awesome BC with no signs of wear and tear after 50 dives and plenty of traveling.

Comments about Sherwood Sherwood Axis Bcd:

This is a nice BCD, but you have to make sure the shoulder inflator connection doesn't come unscrewed. It is an unusual connection that no other brand uses as far as I can tell and if the back of it is not very firmly screwed in it can come off in your bag, which it did to me. If it comes off, make sure you find the o-ring and put that back in because without the o-ring it blows out and won't hold any air. That happened to me because the piece fell off and my instructor put it back on but without the o-ring, because he had never seen that type of connection and didn't know it had an o-ring in it. So the valve blew out as soon as I started my dive and I had to do the whole dive without a BCD, which can be pretty dangerous.

Also, this BC is very streamlined, to the point that you can fit almost nothing other than the weights in the pockets. One pocket is consumed by the 3 foot signal tube, and the other can hold a small backup light and that's it.

Great BCD. Put about 10 - 15 dives on mine so far and I couldn't be more satisfied. Its a very simple BCD and I love the fact that there is no cumber bun.

Lightweight for traveling but still have plenty of room and d-rings.

I definitely recommend the BC.

Have used this BC on six dives so far - comfortable and responsive each time. The included SMB is a nice bonus. I carry a 13cu ft. pony, light, and fins off the attached D-rings without a problem.
