I live in Bonaire 10 months of the year. I do at least one dive everyday. Bought my first Avid 7 years ago. Loved it, so when it finally wore out after 7 years of daily diving, I certainly wanted another one. 7 Years of daily diving proves the durability.

Great all round BC. One of the few BCD's made that is actually a 2XL vs other BC's that add a little material to the cumberbun and call it a 2XL. If you are a person of girth, this is the BCD for you. Plenty of D-rings for add-ons. I suggest adding the AVID BC knife and light. They are very handy and made for this BC.

NC wreck diver.Hard to locate side pocket zippers wearing gloves. Zipper leads are underneath bottom waist strap when closed. I am adding a bright colored pull strap to zipper lead to fix problem. Always dive with suit. Can't remark about comfort if no wetsuit. Stiff material on shoulders might rub? Like the multiple d-rings. Comfortable fit. I'm very bouyant and keep 2 lb in each back weight pocket.

I own many BC's, always trying to find the right one! I had a Mares that I loved but got a little to FAT for and had to "upgrade" LOL, searched and tried all kinds and brands because they quit making my old style of Mares jacket. Then I happened onto the AVID. What an awesome jacket! all kinds of bells and whistles, rugged, durable, comfortable, my brother even has one now! We dive mainly in the Florida keys. I may even buy another Avid jacket and leave it in the box until I need it!

Awesome BC. I used it when I did all of my training and then decided to buy one for myself. Everything is easy... easy on/off, easy to adjust. I also like the two straps for the tank (you see too many divers out there that look like their tank is about to fall out). I also like all of the D-Rings for all my gear. Overall, this is the best BC I have ever used!

My work collegue use to be a commercial diver. He lent me his Avid. I used this BC in the Turks & Caicos last spring. When the dive instructors saw me using this BC they were very impressed with the design features and how it fit on me. The dual tank strap is a nice plus. Loading weights in the pack belts are great. No more weights digging into my hips. Plenty of rings and pockets.
After diving for a full week, I did not have any complaints abouts this BC.
Leisure Pro was offering this model on sale for a great price. I will be diving in carribean this spring and looking forward to using my own BC.

It's my first and only BC, so it's hard to compare to anything else other than rentals that I used during my certification and it's better than any of them, hands down.
It's a very sturdy, tough, but also heavy BC with lots of clips and rings to hang stuff off of.
It fits comfortably but tends to slide up underwater, but this might be the case with most BCs. I wish it had a crotch strap to hold it down. I like this BC though because it's built so tough and it's worked well for me well in all environments, from Floriday Keys to a quarry in Illinois in March.

I have used this BC from Australia to Belize and right in my front yard of Hawaii. Over 100 dives on this beauty. Air dumps every where you probe up down and sideways, great when going through lava tubes. Plenty of D rings (Stainless Steel) to attach all gadgets. Deep zipper pockets. As for weight pockets you are not supposed to release them from the buckle [...], they are pull release. Two chest buckles and a belt for secure fit. At this price for what you get (everything plus)in a BC I highly reccomend.

the bc is nice but is not a very trusty bc cause when i bough it and i used it for the first time at 70 feets the bc started inflating itself thank god my partner hold me down to give me time to get the hose loose from the power inflator cause if not i could had have easily a acute pulmonare edema and on top of that after only 6 inmersion the weight zippers broke, plus the lower strap that hold the tank also break, so it means that after only 6 inmersion i have to buy a new bc because i dont trust this one anymore
P.S. the firs time i had the proble i got the power inflator fix, but again is free flowing again for the second time.
so if you want think twice before bying this bc

Pretty good BC. Easily adjustable, no problem with weight pockets. Adjustable belt, so both my wife and me can use it. I have two problems with with BC. 1 - use of integrated clips (above the pockets), thus might be somewhat difficult to configure. I'd, probably, prefer the D-rings instead. This is a minor comment, since I am the kinda guy who likes to play with his stuff :)) 2 - Double tank strap. Somewhat difficult to change between tanks on a boat. It is fine with me, but I wouldn't recommend it to a woman. On the other hand, it is, probably, true for any BC with a double strap.Overall - good quality product. If you see it on sale - buy it. [$] is a bit steep otherwise.
