The integrated inflate/deflate valve is fantastic! No more fumbling for toggles and multiple release points. Otherwise, the BC is well made and versatile, making it the perfect dive product. I already have one and this was a purchase for my son, who is always borrowing mine.
Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
A weight-reducing diet left me too small for my first Pro QD i3, so I sold it back to LeisurePro and bought a smaller one. I guess that allows me to post a second review. Another reviewer mentioned that it was a bit heavy for air travel. I always wear mine onto the plane! I've flown from NJ to Nassau, Provo, Miami, LAX, Honolulu, Guam, Palau, Sydney, and Cairns, and never had a bit of trouble. Once a TSA inspector said, "Nice BC!", but nobody else even mentioned it. I've always been able to stow it in the overhead compartment on the plane, but it's OK to wear in the seat too.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I usually have to wear quite a lot of weights when diving, and therefore had to wear a weight belt as well as the intergrated pockets. With the PRO QD I3 the weight pockets are double the size so I don't have to wear the weight belt, this makes diving so much more comfortable, and if you suffer from lower back pains, the lack of a weight belt eliminates the pain. Just fantastic.
Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I've been using this for 2 years-- about 200 dives, warm and cold water, and rescue diver certification. The i3 inflator system is great-- easy to use, always at hand, minimizes clutter in the busy chest area. The hybrid back/jacket design is streamlined, doesn't squeeze when inflated, and makes it easy to float upright at the surface. Quick-release weight system is outstanding-- easy to load and easy to use. Zippered pockets hold a lot but could be easier to reach.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I bought this BC a few years back, and it has accompanied me on several dives. One of the valves has leaked consistantly. The valve has been cleaned, serviced, replaced and it still continues to pop out little bubbles. Costs me 400 psi per dive, and 15 min of bottom time. Horrible buy.
Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
i have tried a few bc's of my dive buddies and then one of them lent me a i3 and it was love at first dive.
comfort, control and heaps of features that make every dive a breeze, do yourself a favor and start diving in a i3
Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
No more fumbling around for my power inflater and no matter what position I'm in it deflates. I no longer have to think which dump valve I have to use, it just works every time!!

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
The days of fumbling with you BC's inflator valve/hose are over. The I3's lever is there to tweak your air all the time, ever time; and just the right amount too.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
First one had a punctured bladder, Leisure Pro replaced it. Second one was fine. Very comfortable, easy to use, easy to get used to. Five minutes into the first dive I was loving this BC, pinpoint control and the lever is always on my left hip, deflates in any position. Standing this BC up is a problem and I could see the inflator mechanism getting damaged, strap the tank on and lay it down.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
Bought this to complete my OW training in, a very good decision as it fitted well and made me more comfortable underwater. Very comfortable to wear. Once the cummerbund is adjusted the BC doesn't ride up even when fully inflated. Easy to adjust and instinctive to use. Instead of searching around for the inflator hose, I just reach down and my hand naturally finds the inflator lever. Lift up to inflate, push down to deflate.
Very fast delivery. NY to Melbourne Australia in 4 days.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
What a great concept. I sent my first PRO QDI3 back twice due to inflator leakage. They replaced the gasket with a new improved one the second time and it leaked. They replaced it with a new one the third time - it leaked. Finally replaced with a PRO QD Unlimited - It ripped around the waist band. Replaced with a new PRO QD2009.Now im happy - A great BCD without any FAULT.IF YOU PURCHASE THE I3 - GOOD LUCK!
Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I have had no problems with the BC, as others have stated. Well made ( heavy duty )

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I'm an old DM with more than 2500 dives. I dove with all sorts of bcd's. Maybe more than 40 different makes and models over the past 30 years...This is it!!! With a sleak design, no hoses flapping around, you have a place for everything and everything in it's place. It deflates in every possible angle. The ergonometry of this vest was very well thought of. you get what you pay for, not the cheapest, but if you want one bcd that will do every thing...buy this one, from deep nitrox, wreck, ice, and warm water diving it is the best compromise. I liked it enough that I bought one for my 10 yr old son, and the pearl women's version for my wife!!!
only cons: it's a little heavy for air travel, zippers are a little hard to handle in a dive and it won't take twins.
the whole family dives with the seaquest I3

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
Ive had this BSD now for 18 months & i still think its the best BSD listed here on Leisure Pro. But i now have some perspective in what i could have bought & why its worth comparing before you buy this BSD.
1. Its not light & travel friendly, its because it so well made, well put together with top fabrics but its not going with you on a flight unless you pay for extra baggage.
2. Its weight interrogated (one of the best) but that makes the vest heavy when suiting up & you cant just pass up your weight belt at the end of a dive. I discovered that i would either take off the whole thing & pass up first or get help with a lift into the back of the boat just hauling me out by the top of the tank bottle.
3. I wish you could add spare ocy over the shoulder instead of around the front & into the pocket. The design is about as good as it gets but i would love a simpler setup that you can get less advanced designs.
So would i buy again, YES! Its still the best BSD listed here, but i would also live with the cheapest vest listed (the Tusa 2100 BCD & the Blue Reef Octo/Inflator with inflator hose) for under 1/3 the price & go back to a weight belt and spend the saving on the data-mask HUD display with wireless transmitter!!!
Heaven would be having both of course...
So to recap, after all this time my vest is still like new (& i dive wrecks & coral reef) so i expected more ware & tear than its gotten.
Next, while its great it does get in the way (like an easy recline chair) then this is still the best BSD but its not light or built for travel (except for a dive bucket to the boat/shore dive site).
Lastly i would recommend you go into a store & try one on so you can gauge the size & the fit before ordering. Yes if your in the US you can send back but thats a problem for us overseas... I still give it 9/10 starts, its not perfect but its close & i've gotten to try everything else.
Leisure Pro are the best to deal with, i live in Australia but delivery times were faster than buying locally!

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
Inflate/deflate functions great. Stock hose with large size a little short. Add an octo mouthpiece holder, the hose tends to come out of the holder. Zippers are a little weak, one failed first time out. Aqualung repaired it in one day, great customer service.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I use it for recreation. The only issue I have is that there needs to be a D-ring down by the inflator because my gauge hose sticks out uncomfortably far if I use the D-ring above the left pocket. I plan to move my console to the other side. All in all, this is really nifty. It deflates in any attitude and allows precise buoyancy control.
I didn't really need any service, so I can't comment. Delivery was exactly on time. I will definitely make another purchase from this site.
Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
At first I thought I would have difficulties with this BC with not remembering where to inflate and deflate the BC. Boy was I wrong! It was so natural that it makes you wonder why someone didn't think of it sooner. It took about 15-20 minutes of playing around to get use to the buoyancy and after that, off I went. Adjusting the air in this BC while on the move is easy. You just move the lever a tiny bit and you go up or down. There is no fumbling around to find it. This keeps all of your gear nice and streamlined.
It's now funny to watch my other fellow divers drop down while raising their left arm while I just flip a lever and drop.
I have a few dive buddies that now want their own. LOL
I was so impressed with this BC that I wrote this, I never write about a product but this is GREAT.
Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I'm going to put in a few negatives in here, but don't get me wrong, I LOVE THIS BC!
Bought this last year and used it in some cold freshwater lakes as well as Cayman and the Keys. Worked awesome.
I found it easily adjustable and the straps are swiveled which makes it even more comfortable. The size wasn't great (I fall between two sizes) so with a 3mm I have to have the straps up really tight, but still pretty good.
The manual inflator is kind of flimsy, and I intend to replace it with an inflator safe second and drop my octopus. The octo pocket was really good - holds the octopus instead of using a d-ring on the shoulder strap.
The best feature of this is the I-3 inflator. It is easy to use - gloves or not, and being near your waist is also near your hands. Only drawback was I snagged it a couple of time while climbing up a boat ladder back on the boat which inflated the BC a little more.
The air dumps in any position and I haven't had any problem.
Pockets are a little small, and I replaced the little nylon thingies at the end of the zipper pulls for something a little bigger and more visible. Still able to hold a DAN surface signal kit and a light and a bit more.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
My favorite bc ever. I have a BUNCH of them and this fits, adjusts, and just feels great. No tank shift, no roll. That said; this thing has completely unusable pockets. BIG pockets, but worthless. The zippers unzip themselves at a whim and they are IMPOSSIBLE to close underwater. Even two handed it is a giant chore.
The handle that inflates/deflates is right out in the open. To inflate it you just move the lever about 1/8 of an inch with only about two pounds of force. The bc will inflate itself EVERYTIME you set it on the deck. It will inflate itself if you lean against something in a wreck. It will inflate itself if your guages drag past the lever. It will inflate itself when you turn sharply to the left. IT WILL INFLATE ITSELF BY RUBBING ON A DOWNLINE AT A DECOMP STOP!!!! If you remain aware you'll be fine.
I was removing some errant logs from one of the wrecks in our lake. I leaned against the wreck and it filled my bc to blowoff pressures. luckily I had a firm hold on the wreck and since it had happened so many times before, I just let the air out and continued what I was doing. If I had missed that hand hold I would have rocketed to the surface. Very dangerous, but I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
My first BC and I love it. The i3 technology feature is awesome and works as advertised. It's extremely easy to use and very comfortable.
Only down side is that you do have to brief everybody you dive with on the inflator/deflator and where the manual inflation tube is. No big deal though.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I've now had this BC for 8 months and have been extremely happy with my decision. I based my original decision to purchase on reviews I found while researching the Mares Dragon A/T and tend to agree with the reviews.
The BC fits comfortably with no squeeze when inflating due to the way it moves away from the harness.
The i3 inflator is easy to reach and allows you to deflate in a head down position without having to faff around for the rear dump (a problem I had with hire BC's). The only minor niggle regarding this is the fact that my drysuit has a left wrist dump (a fault with the drysuit) and this means arm up to dump the drysuit then down to dump the BC (where a traditional inflator would allow dumping both in the arm up position).
Losing the LPI has resulted in at least one occasion where a helpful diver pulled the oral inflate out for me thinking it was the LPI. A quick explain and pack it back under the shoulder strap.
The octo-pocket is a great idea but as I use a large BC the relatively shorter length of the octopus hose (in comparison) means on occasion the octopus is pulled out. Wearing thick gloves makes it almost impossible to reload the octo-pocket.
The only other minor issue is that for some reason I have problems closing the pockets underwater (though it doesn't seem to be a problem when the BC's not inflated).
The integrated weight pockets are great and on the larger size feature two weight chambers and have a strap running around them which makes them easier to hand off.
Lastly I love the tank-trac system. This means once you position the BC on the tank it doesn't work it's way around to leave the valve facing in a different direction when you tighten the strap.
Delivery was bloody fantastic. A few days waiting for track and trace to show movement once the item hit Australia but it had obviously been moving along at the same time and arrived as promised. I've had stuff take longer to travel from mainland Australia with no way to track the items than this.
Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
The i3 was my first major gear buy, and I have absolutely no regrets; I love this BC. I dive in northern California, and so with colder water of course come thicker gloves. I found rental BCs extremely difficult to work with as depressing the inflater or deflater button with gloves on was tricky and usually took both hands. However the i3's lever solved this, and I find it very easy to add or release tiny amount of air for fine tuning. No hoses to get tangled up in anything, however since NorCal is one big kelp forest I try to keep the space around the lever clear. I have never had it catch on anything but I have heard a couple of stories of it getting caught and inflating. It also dumps air in any position and has integrated weights (best idea ever). Absolutely no regrets about buying it!
Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
Just dove the Caymans with this BC and have to agree with the other reviewers. Using this BC is instinctive (Up for up, down for down). I've used BC's from most manufacturers and rate this as the most comfortable to date. Weight integration, an octopus pocket and pocket grommets for a knife only fortified my decision to "take the plunge".

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I bought this BCD hesitantly on a dive trip to Guam. It was the beginning of my trip and I didn't want to get used to this new fangled technology while diving in unfamiliar places. So I bought it anyways. I'm glad I did. It takes a little gettin used to to not reach up for the LPI but once you do, you enjoy swimming streamlined and not even having to move your arms at all. It deflates in any position, and me being me, I put that to the test. It fits so well, you forget you have it on sometimes. The pockets are just enormous, even when the BC is filled with air. The only problem I run into is accidently inflating it when sitting down in and out of the water. Accidental inflation under water is a killer, so be careful of how your position is. Once you get used to it though, there isn't a problem. Everyone asks me what I'm wearing and they all go gaga over it. The flat valves rarely leave water in my BC. Only once so far on 15+ dives have I actually gotten water inside and had to rinse.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
bought this BC as my first after researching it here, what a great choice! Its so easy to use i want to lock it up because im affraid the kids might figure it out! There are a couple drawbacks to it:
1. Everyone you run into says your missing hoses.
2. once they figure out what it is you have to give a product review.
3. once you dive with them your buddy will have the same BC the next week!

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I3 Technology is awesome. One place to fill and purge. Only con is the I3 valve is it's located very low on the left side. I found that in many sitting situations it was easy to accidentally push the valve and fill the BCD(wasting air). We were diving out of Zodiacs when this was a problem.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
This may sound cliche but someday ALL BCs WILL HAVE I3 or something like it. Instructors should not buy this for instruction but for rec use go for it. Right now instructors have to use the traditional inflator because that's how you demonstrate to your students what to do. But my God this is a great advancement. This is like the spoon as far as eating goes. It seems so obvious it should have been there all along.
Learning the operation takes maybe 3 dives tops, after that it's purely natural and you look at other gear like it's arcane.
Lift to go up, press to go down, an elevator is harder to operate. No, you don't have to raise some hose over your shoulder to go down nor do you have to change your position in any way.
Wondering where your control is? It's right there under your pocket, always, same place. Not snagged anywhere or over your shoulder or anything.
Clean up? The only way to get water inside is to blow it in the manual inflator so there's no reason to rinse the inside. Saves lot of time and weight as you don't have any residual water left in the bottom of the BC.
Often when a hew innovation comes along people are skeptical, they were skeptical of the Wright Bros right? The only drawback right now is having to brief your dive buddies on the operation before you dive and that won't be for long as they'll probably buy one themselves.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I did not want this hobby to be like all the rest (buy cheap and continue to upgrade, costs too much in the long run). I opted for this BC as my first one to own. I have no regrets, even broke it in on a couple dives in a balmy 46 degree quarry. The i3 takes some getting used to as far as where its located but in the end WELL WORTH IT.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
This thing is better than the MARES (HUB) which is twice the price. Weight intergrated, this is the latest, state of the art in BCD's. The dry-valve air dumps stops water getting into the BCD and the up/down lever function is instinctive for every type of diving.
Sad part is you have to use a regualr ocy but the vest has a pocket designed for convient location & use in an emergency.
Honest, this is the rolzRc of diving vests and @ these prices its the must have upgrade for anyone who has to upgrade or just want to start out with the best bang for buck option!

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
I have been diving with the Seaquest QD Pro i3 for the past 3 months (over 75+ dives). The long an short of it is that I REALLY like this BCD. From comfort to using the new i3, it just feels right. The lever is a just a matter of reaching down to a very natural location, push down to go down, and lift up to go up. There is of course still the right shoulder dump pull, but honestly you don't need it. This is simply one of the most convenient means of inflating and deflating a BC I have ever used. Fear not with the purchasing of this BC, you will find that you love it to.

Comments about Seaquest Seaquest Pro QD with i3 Technology BC:
Rented this BC from [...] from the suggestion of a local spearfisherman. The design intrigued me due to not having that octo hanging down on your left shoulder. At first glance I though it was just another thing to malfunction. After getting in the water I couldnt get it adjusted correctly so the BC was "Riding" up on my shoulders. After getting situated, I noticed how comfy the BC actually was. really comfortable in and out of the water. Lots of padding on the shoulder straps and back. When inflated you get no pressure pushing against you stomache or lungs, it inflates away from your body. The pockets are quite big and could hold alot of items. I inflation device works GREAT! you can be completely upside down and hit the deflate and it will deflate no matter the position you are in. easy to inflate as well. Just simply flip the switch up or down to go up or down in the water. The weight integrated pockets work very well too. They can only be pulled out by grabbing the grey handle and physically pulling on the handle. cannot be accidentally dropped by snagging on something.
