Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Excursion BC Black:

First let me say that I was a bit skeptical when I first thought of getting this BC. Now, I'd be very skeptical to switch back to a jacket style. I was an avid SeaTec Original Manta BC user for many years. Do not get me wrong, I thought the Manta was a great BC too. But if you want comfort, ease of movement, along with the weight integration; then this BC is for you. I've been diving this BC for going on 3 years, and as long as you take care of it, it looks the same as the day I bought it.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Excursion BC Black:

I have only used this bc once so far. It is very comfortable. I had some problems regulating my level and I could feel the air shift around some as I moved. I was dissapointed that there are no front pockets but I guess that is the sacrifice made to have the BC weight system and that was important to me. All in all it seems to be a quaility product that I will have to get used to.

Service & Delivery comments:

Prompt delivery.
The package was abuse but wrapped well enough to keep the product in good shape.

Im an advance diver and have taken this baby in many dives. It is extremely confortable, durable. I successfully navigated through a swarm of thousands of jelly fishes pass 100 feet with no problem while hunting grouper, so if u are looking to be streamlined and non bulky this is perfect. Best back inflation BC out there in my humble opinion

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Excursion BC Black:

I am an instructor, but I purchased this BC for recreation and hunting. I am very pleased with the weight integration system. Finally weight pockets that don't release by themselves. In addition the BC is well balanced under water, is fairly light, has plenty of rings, is very comfortable and is not confining. On the flip side this is not a model for pocket lovers and the rear dump valve mechanism is difficult to reach. Overall, a great product!

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Excursion BC Black:

I purchased the Excursion around a year ago and have about 40 dives with it.
I found the number of D rings useful for hanging my compass and dive lights as well as an anchoring point for the ropes when ice diving.
I liked having the power inflator dump valve... just pull down on the power inflator and you start to sink... this is great when you are decending feet first and easier than finding the rear dump valve.
The one thing I should have purchased for it is the integrated air for the power inflator - I dont care for the octo hanging off the BC.
Great BC for beginner or advanced, recreational or tech diver.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Excursion BC Black:

I have dove this product for more than 300 dives, so obviously it was adequate for my varied style of diving: recreational, cavern, ocean, and deco. The product held up well; however, the bladder is subject to puncture if not careful. I have several buddies who had to have theirs patched.

With this BC you get what you pay for; unfortunately, you get too much in my opinion. Way too much stuff hanging off this thing. World record dives have been made with 3 D-rings; this BC has darn near a dozen. Thats a lot working against streamlining and a lot of annoyance. But don't worry. At least you'll look good.

Lifting and carrying this BC is no small task. The integrated weight pockets flop around making transport cumbersome and wearing it awkward. This BC is inherently heavy without lead, so at the end of the dive day you're faced with two options: carrying the wet massive floppy beast (you will get wet) or dealing with the hassle of removing the weight pockets and not losing them or forgetting to reinstall them later.

Overall this is an adequate BC for wide range of diving, but not an optimum BC for any specific type of diving.

Nice BC. Used this for my OW classes (purchased from leisure pro before I took the class) and worked like a champ. Padded back support is nice and the integrated weight pockets are easy to pull out. Was worried about the back bladder on the surface but turned out to be a non-issue.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Excursion BC Black:

This is my first BC purchase. I waited a while before buying my own and asked many questions of others in the process. This is an incredibly comforatble BC. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. One thing to be aware about rear inflatable BC's is they can tend to tip you forward in the water. This is easily compensated by bringing your knees up and leaning back.

Best business transaction ever.

I've been diving with this BCD for 2 seasons now. It performs as well in Caribbean waters as well as TX lakes and quaries. It adjusts easily above and below the surface and fits well. I like the fact that the weights are distributed to the back as well as the sides.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Excursion BC Black:

This is a relatively versatile BC. I really like how it fits and the weight pouch mechanisms (they seem more natural compared to a few other BCs I previously tried). The only minor add-on I wish the BC had was a crotch strap so that it would really stay in position during the dive.

Top Quality BC loaded w/ great features
By The NetzVerified Reviewer from Monterey, CA on 3/30/2007
Pros:
Comfortable, Durable, Easily Adjustable, Lots Of Features
Cons:
Only 1 pocket
Best Uses:
Cold Water, Recreation, Warm Water
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Excursion BC Black:

This BC is well designed with a precision contained rear air bladder which is easy to empty whether you are head up or down, two 5 LBS rear non-ditch weight pockets (that have comfortably held 8 LBS as needed), and two 10 LBS side weight pockets with sturdy sleeves that are easy to insert and remove. The BC has a spinal protection pad that completely shields you from the tank, and combined with its rolled shoulder straps make this a comfortable BC even without a wetsuit. Tank straps are easy to adjust and lock the tank into place securely in your predetermined position every time. There are plenty of stainless D-Rings for your gear, and Oceanic makes a small dive knife that mounts in a readily accessible position under your side weight pockets. This BC runs true to size. The inflator that doubles as an octo takes some getting used to, but does a good job of effectively cutting down on your gear.

Works well for me!
By Pat from VA on 2/12/2007
Pros:
Comfortable, Durable, Easily Adjustable, Knife grommets, Tough Nylon
Cons:
Only 1 fold out pocket
Best Uses:
Recreation
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Excursion BC Black:

I really like my Excursion. I've used it a lot for one season after replacing my worn Scuba Pro jacket. The "D" rings come in very handy. The Excursion is very comfortable and heads above the comfort of the many jacet-style BCD's I've used. The small inflator took a little getting used to but I wouldn't trade it at this point. For those divers wanting pockets this is not the model for you. It only has one fold out pocket. The bouyancy characteristics are great and I couldn't be happier.
