Comments about Mares Mares Vector Epic BC with MRS Plus Weight Pockets:

A decent BC for recreational use, especially given the value for the price. I would redesign the weight system, though, as it tends to float you face down on the surface. Like I said, a good value for the dollar!

Comments about Mares Mares Vector Epic BC with MRS Plus Weight Pockets:

I thought it was comfortable, the adjustment straps get you a more custom fit. I was bummed that it did not have trim weight pockets in the back. It was shipped without the weight pockets, [...]You cannot beat the bargain in the Mares 2 package.

Comments about Mares Mares Vector Epic BC with MRS Plus Weight Pockets:

The BC is great. Everything works well, except it's missing a d-ring on the left chest area. I wish it had one there. Besides that it's great! It does have a female quick disconnect clip, but that adds to the length.

Comments about Mares Mares Vector Epic BC with MRS Plus Weight Pockets:

Vector Epic lacks trim weight pockets, and the integrated MRS weight pockets are too tight -- tight even when there are no weights! Forget about putting 6-8 lbs of weights per pocket, you'll never get them in without struggling.

All other features are good for this price point. I just keep most of the weights in the zippered pockets and put about 3-4 lbs per ditchable pocket which is enough to become positively bouyant in an emergency.

I upgraded to the Dragon for better comfort and trim weight pockets, metal D-rings, better material, but the MRS weight system is still poorly designed.

Service & Delivery comments:

Excellent service and delivery (next business day for me since LP is in NYC). No questions asked when I wanted to upgrade to the Dragon.
