This BCD is wonderful to put on and very comfortable.
Only thins is the MRS weight system. You cannot seem to put anything into the pocket with the MRS weights in place and the slightly inflated.

I have been diving for 30 years and in the water this is by far the most comfortable B.C. I have ever used. It allows you to move with excellent freedom. The air bladder being in the back eliminates any feeling that you are being squeezed by your B.C., even when you have a lot of air in it. That being said, it does have a few draw backs. The integrated weight pockets are a bit awkward to insert the weights into, especially if you have any air in the B.C. If you have the weights loaded into the B.C. it makes it fairly heavy on land and extremely heavy when you have it attached to a tank. This makes moving your equipment around on the boat a bit of a hassle. This raises my next minor complaint. I dive off of my own boat and generally like to throw my rig into the water and gear up in the water. This B.C. makes it a bit of a challenge to do that laying on your back as it wants to constantly pitch you forward into a face down position. This also applies to floating on the surface waiting for your dive buddy. I have found that by putting about 25% of my weights (2 pounds) in the back pockets I can balance it out fairly well. The draw back to this is that the weights in the back pockets can not be easily dropped, meaning that you would have to carry them with you to the surface in an emergency ascent. The "airtrim" system is nice and only takes a few dives to get comfortable using. For making my initial descent, I do find it easier to pull on the dump valve as the "airtrim" system lets the air out of the B.C. very slowly. This makes it work well for fine tuning your buoyancy during a dive. I have not had this B.C. long enough to comment on its durability, but it does seem to be well made. As others have stated the manual inflation tube is coiled into the left pocket making the pocket effectively useless for storage. The right pocket is fairly large and should be more than adequate for most recreational divers. On the whole I would say that the pro's out weigh the con's and I would recommend this B.C. for anyone looking for a B.C. with excellent in water comfort and the easy buoyancy control offered by the "airtrim" system.

Just got back from a four dive trip testing new gear. The Dragon was everything I expected. Very easy to use. With the AT system you can make adjustment in any position without moving your hands from your side. Did take a while to remember what button was in and what was out. Did two dives with the standard belt and two with the designed weight system. Even off a small boat the weight pockets were easy. The fit was in just the right place and they were easy to pull and hand to a boat mate.

I received this BC yesterday and took it for a pool dive test. I can't describe this BC better than saying Simply Amazing. So easy to control the buoyancy. and the Fitting is perfect. its the first time I get off a dive and don't feel back pains all due to the padding.
I performed taking off and rewearing the BC underwater and it was so easy to do and I'v done it faster than any other time when I used other BCs provided by our dive center.

I really love this BC, very comfortable and easy to adjust. My only dislike is the manual inflation valve (Airtrim). It coils up inside of one of the BC side pockets and is pulled through a hole when needed. If you have anything stored inside that pocket the hose could get tangled up or pinched, not good under an emergency situation (only reason i gave 4 out of 5 stars). Other then that it's a great BC.

I've rented several BC's in the past but this is my first one to purchase and I love it. It's very comfortable and easy to adjust and operate. The BC is still new to me but so far the only con is the manual inflation hose. The hose is connected to an outlet inside one of the side pockets where it's coiled up when stored. When the hose is needed you pull it out from a hole on the outside of the pocket. However, if you have anything stored inside the pocket the hose could get jammed up or tangled with items stored in pocket creating an issue in an emergency. As long as you're aware of it you can make sure the hose is free or maybe reroute it. Other than that this is an awesome BC.

I use this BC for everything, whether i am assisting with a class or doing deep dives in the Great Lakes it never fails me. I love this BC its an awesome piece of engineering and I would absolutely recommend it to my dive partner.

The only thing I don't like about this BCD is that the cumber bun section feels like it is too big, when tightening the quick release at the waist, the two flaps come too close to each other. I am 5'8" and have a medium. So the Airtrim buttons are almost by the center of my stomach instead of at the side like I thought it would fit. I'm not that skinny either. But overall it it the most comfortable BCD other then the Zeagle Brigade
which if it had an airtrim model I would have gotten that.

This BC is great, just like the original Mares Dragon. The AirTrim is a great design and easier to use than the traditional low pressure inflator setup. Worth the money to upgrade to the AirTrim.

Awesome BC, great fit, really comfortable. I love not having an inflator hose to fiddle aroung for. Only drawback is the pockets are a little small, but most are.

This is a fantastic BCD! The airtrim system is a 8/10, it's much more streamlined than the traditional hose but it does require air pressure to operate (hopefully not an issue), and it won't get that last bubble out of your BC, for that you have to use the manual vent. The construction is at Mares standards (very sturdy) and the design is ergonomic and easy to adjust. Sizing is also very accurate. My only complaint would be that the oral inflator stores in the left pocket, making it useless to store gear in.

I would recommend this BC over and over and over again. The back protector feature makes this one heck of a comfortable wear. I love the integrated inflator buoyancy control. Forge having to hold the inflator above your head to rise and sink because with just a touch of your thumb and index finger you can perfectly position yourself in the water. I love the quick release weight pocket system. And another bonus is that the BC is relatively light to carry and wear.

I like this BC a lot. The Air TRim mechanism works great. After a couple of dives you get used to it. However, mine came with a defect: the deflator button worked only when pressed on one edge. I wonder how durable/reliable is the AT. Had to wait 3 weeks for warranty service.

I bought the XL and it fits great. I have been using it a year and travelling a lot and it still looks like new.
