(based on 35 ratings)
Brand: Dive Rite
Located in: Essential Equipment, Buoyancy Compensators
The TransPac's design epitomizes technology, comfort, and innovation. It is the only BCD that can accommodate a single tank, double tanks, and side-mounted tanks. This BCD can stand up to the demands of deep wreck diving, as well as more leisurely dives along shallow reefs and underwater parks. The fail-safe dual shoulder releases mean you can easily dump your BCD, should the occasion ever arise.

This modular BCD allows you to custom this piece of equipment to fit your exact needs. If you find yourself in need of integrated weights or pockets, simply mount the required items to your belt. Likewise, if the optional crotch strap fits your needs, then simply mount one to this BCD for the added fit and security.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive Rite Transpac Harness:

Incredible design, workmanship, comfort, and adaptability. If you have never dove with wings, you don't know what you are missing and the Transpak makes it so easy to pick a wing that matches your diving needs and tank size. I use the Transpak with my single HP100 and then simply change the wing for my double HP100s. I love this piece of equipment. I call it a piece of equipment instead of a BC because it can do so much. Check out the Diverite.com site for sizing and a lot of neat videos on fitting , adjustability, and utilization of the equipment.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive Rite Transpac Harness:

I needed a harness to attach to my rebreather. I did not want to use a backplate as it would have added some distance between my back and the counterlung (in order to minimize pressure differences you want the counterlung to be as close to your body as possible). I therefore decided to buy a soft back harness system. I hesitated between DiveRite, OMS and Hollis. I finally went for the Dive Rite Transpac and I am glad I did. It is really comfortable and versatile. The only thing I think Dive Rite could improve would be to provide the crotch strap with the harness (you have to order it extra). You do need the crotch strap for optimal fit and stability.

The Dive Rite Transpac T3000 harness is the best harness to go with...it is better then OMS, Halcyon, Oxycheq, Hollis, this harness is the perfect thing for any diver that does Decompression, Cave, Wreck, Deep diving, and side mount diving, it is very light weight, has tons of D-rings, I am 5' 10" and 155lbs, and the size Medium fits perfectly...bottom line Dive Rite Delivers the BEST quilty gear i have seen. If you are making a Technical diving package I reccomend:

Comments about Dive Rite Dive Rite Transpac Harness:

I have been using the Dive Rite Transpac for three years now. I have had no issues with it. It is easy to streamline in the water, packs into a small gear bag and feels like wearing nothing vs a regular vest type BC. Its very comfortable and I wont dive anything else. **Just make sure that the sales person knows how to fit you correctly for the Transpac.**

I use single LP Steel 108s and HP 95s with a Oceanic Delta4. I would recommend Atomic regulators over the Oceanic Delta4.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive Rite Transpac Harness:

I wanted something that would keep my tank in place, would not ride up on my back, and would not squeeze my chest like a jacket BC. This has been the perfect solution for me. It easily adjusted to fit and hold accessories such as weight pockets, trim weights, and BC.

Very good product ! I use it with a Rec Wing on either 12L tank or on Megalodon rebreather with until 2 bailout and it works very well for both ! It is very adjustable for that but it is very adjustable to your body also. It is very light and so perfect for travelling but very resistant so I can use with heavy configuration.
Many wings and accessories are available and you can personnalize the way you which.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive Rite Transpac Harness:

This harness system is fantastic. It has a much slimmer profile under the water than a conventional BCD system. Adjusting to suit personal needs takes a little while, it is not a big adjust on the fly system but small changes can be done easily enough. Almost everything on this harness can be moved around to let each diver adjust for peak performance if you want to spend the time in confined water to fine tuse. I absolutely love it!!!

Comments about Dive Rite Dive Rite Transpac Harness:

I only dive in warm water now, having dove for many years in the Great Lakes, ice diving, etc. I absolutely love the comfort of the Trans Pac. Wish they made these things back in 1982. I think the Trans Pac would work well in just about any possible diving situation. This is one fine piece of equipment! I use a Travel bladder and it works just fine for warm or temperate water. I generally dive in a dive skin or lightweight shorty. Plenty of lift for a single tank. I weigh 210# and am 5'10" tall. I bought the size Large Transpac and it fits like a glove. If you dive one of these, you will NEVER go back to a standard jacket type BC. Super easy to ditch and don. Packs down nice and flat for travel. I've been a PADI Divemaster since 1982 and have never dove a better rig. And I've tried lots of different rigs. This one is the best.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive Rite Transpac Harness:

This is an excellent harness with a lot of options and adjustability. I have been diving the transpac for years and this is replacing an older transpac II for me. The flexibility may be a little overwhelming for newer divers and back bouyancy is really not the best for general recreational use.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive Rite Transpac Harness:

Easier than a BP&W that I usually dive and almost as nice. I got this mainly because I will be diving and Optima rebreather and wanted a simple in and out and easily adjustable harness onit. This is so nice that I might dive this verses my BP&W on single tank dives. Not so sure I'd use in on doubles just yet, but willing to try..but need to order the stabilizing bars to do that.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive Rite Transpac Harness:

I have previously always dived with jacket style BCD's. I cant believe I didnt change to harness sooner. Problem is most recreational training facilities only promote jacket style BCD's. Love the freedom of having nothing bulking up the front while the wing bladder inflation provides perfect bouyancy and trim (obviously I attached a wing to this harness) I am a master scuba diver who is about to start tech diving. My main inspiration to go to this harness was to accomodate twin tanks for tech, but after a few dives with a single this is best for singles and doubles.
Highly recommend this system for any level of diving. I have attached the 'rec' wings to this harness which are great for both recreational diving and will also accomodate tech set up.
Very Happy
